I feel like, as the organizer of the mental health journaling chat, I should have so much to say here. But I only have my own experiences. Truthfully, if you've ed us over on the MHJ chat, you will know we spend most of our time complaining about needing more coffee, and showing off our pets.

Bullet journaling helps me to keep my life in order. I often find it hard to focus, to be motivated. I also have issues with my memory, which worryingly is not improving. My bujo keeps the important events, my to-do lists and reminders. Even if I don't writing them, I know it's there for a reason, so I get it done.
My anxiety levels are down. Now I'm not as anxious about whether I've forgotten something important, I am more relaxed. Before I began a bujo, I was always flitting about, desperately trying to make sure I hadn't forgotten anything. The worry is still there, but not to the same degree.

My bullet journal reminds me to take care of myself on days when maybe it isn't something I would be concerned about. I have reminders in my personal and university bullet journals to drink a glass of water, stretch, go outside. Little things, but they make a difference.

I always leave additional space for the good stuff. If one of my children does something I want to , I know where to put it. A big headline. Occasionally a new word I have learnt and loved. A small act of kindess. Something I am particulary grateful for that day. It makes me happy to look back on these little notes.

Steering away from bullet journals, I also use art journaling and morning pages to help me handle my mental health issues.
Morning pages are widely recommended. The act of writing down your worries, or just general thoughts, has long been considered beneficial. It can help you resolve issues, brainstorm new ideas, or just clear some head space. Art journaling is my way of making my mind quieten down for a while, and who doesn't need that once in a while.

A day when I am in pain and perhaps don't want to leave the house, I will spend a little time on at least one of my journals.

I could go on forever I believe, but you get the idea. Thanks to various forms of journaling, I am more content than I have been in years. It has helped me in so many ways.

A final note on how journaling has helped me. Bullet journaling, specifically the journaling community here, has given me the opportunity to get to know some lovely people. Three specifically are the closest friends I have, and I can't imagine life without them now. If I take anything away from bullet journaling I hope it is those girls.
