When I first started putting together my BuJo, I used the first few implements I found. I stuck with basic black for the main layout. I use a basic Uni-ball ballpoint for most of it, with the Faber-Castell artist pen for titles.

When looking for a way to add color, I found these gel pens I'd bought at CVS a couple years ago, on a road trip on the way to a workshop. As you can tell, they smudge if you don't let them dry. Still, quite good, even though they were old and some of the pens are running low.

A friend gifted me these colored pencils along with a coloring book. I like the range of colors, particularly the blues and greens, since I use those colors most.

When I was planning out my March spread, I saw these calligraphy pens online and had to have them. They ghost more than my other pens, and I have to let them dry for longer, so I'm less into them than when I first got them. I also tried to use these with stencils for one spread, which did not work at ALL.
I initially planned on theming each month after a different type of stationary product (writing implement, sticker set, or stencil), and having March be for these pens, but that proved to be unsustainable, both because of the time the ink takes to dry and because I can't afford to get new stationary every month. :P

Most recently, I got these sharpie highlighters. I'm not super into neon, but wanted highlighters as a way to add color. I found these make text hard to read unless you write over the highlighted bits. I do like the color though, so I might just use these as bright markers.

Even though the new stationary each month idea is unsustainable, I'm still going to try and theme my April around these, as an exercise in trying to find new and innovative ways of using color in my spreads. We'll see how that works out!
Does anyone have any recommendations for products you think I'd like? I'm super into bold color, so the pastel trend isn't for me; it's hard to find cute things in my aesthetic.
