FEBRUARY 25, 1942

Air raid sirens went off at 2:25 AM throughout the Los Angeles County. A total blackout was ordered. Thousands of Air Raid Wardens were summoned as well to their positions. Nearly an hour later, bullets and anti-aircraft shells were fired at a reported aircraft. After an hour of firing ammo, an “all clear” was made. The end result? Several buildings and vehicles damaged by shell fragments and five dead civilians. 3 died in car accidents, and the other 2 from heart attacks caused by the stress of the hour-long action.

But there was no aircraft that night.

The pilots of the 4th Interceptor Command were alerted, but they kept their aircrafts grounded. After the entire war had ended, the Japanese government stated, that none of their aircrafts had flown over Los Angeles during the war.

Then what was the cause of the firing?

There are many theories that try to explain the cause. The military seem to have believed that there were meteorological balloons that caused the alarms. On the evening before the attack, many flares and blinking lights were reported from nearby defense plants. Before the blackout began, radars picked up an unidentified target 120 miles west. The blackout was ordered, and chaos raged soon after. The local information center was flooded with reports of “enemy planes”, even though the tracked object was seemingly gone. At 3:06 AM, the supposed balloon was sighted, carrying a red flare.

But was it actually a balloon?

The reports seem to suggest that there were many flying objects at the time, not just the balloon. Some of those flying objects were reported to be very slow, while others were reported to be going at over 200 miles per hour (321 kilometers per hour). Many ufologists and conspiracy theorists believe that this event was an extraterrestrial visitation. Their proof is the photo used for the newspaper. In it, they saw what appears to be searchlights focused on an alien spaceship. Could aliens have been the reason for the shooting?

So what do you believe? Was it an alien invasion? Or was it merely a balloon that got lost that night? I would love to hear all your answers in the comments. Thank you all so much for reading.

The government knew they were aliens so they shot them down, got them and took them to a secret place called area 51 just to experiment and have aliens visit. That is why there are so many UFO sightings all in the US.
