To Ivy

To clarify, Ivy hasn't left the Amino yet to my knowledge however she isn't Agent. I thought I'd put this here as I didn't really clarify it much in the post and there isn't a necessarily good place to fit it in.

I've been here for nearly 3 years now and in that time I've been on 3 different occasions, with my current status being the third.

I've made three different posts about my time here now, when I reached one year on here, one for the GDA 2 year anniversary and one for when I reached two years on here.

Usually I just done some pseudo ironic theme to the post for each year. First was myself, second was GDA. This time I was planning to do something related to moderation.

So I was going through a draft as I usually plan my yearly posts out throughout the year as to keep my stuff in it properly accurate.

Moderating this place has its up and has its downs and all, but realistically, it's a lot of ups. I've had a lot of fun moderating here due to either how dumb the situations get or just how fun it is in the Offtopic Mod Chat. Sure it is definitely stressful to deal with stuff but it is really fun. Throughout all the different people that have been and who I worked with. There have literally been 27 people on the mod team I've worked with.

If you asked me which one of these people was the most memorable , it'd be Ivy. She's realistically the best GDA has had.

She's been the I always tried to be better than so that I'd improve and she did make me realise lots of things related to moderation. She definitely had faults but she was able to come around to them a good lot of the time. She was able to argue her point well and show why something was necessary. She set a standard for moderating.

She's done all of the art in relation to this Amino for the longest time now. The banner, the icon, the Official Chat and Art Chat backgrounds. The main images for the Polls, announcements and their respective backgrounds. All of the aesthetic seen on here is done by her as she's talented as hell with GFX and her work is beautiful.

She is a person who you can trust with stuff and get actual advice from a lot of the time. She's able to hold a normal conversation of almost any intensity.

She simply has an impact that is probably going to outlast most of the other s. She done stuff well, very well.

I made this because seeing Ivy not on the mod team is saddening. She was the one that I wanted to the do better than because she done stuff well and honestly if it weren't for her, there'd be lots of people here who would be very very different than they are today.

It only takes a few people and a hot minute to slander a name, and that did happen to her.

Lots of people irrationally hated her for what were just actions done to people with a following here and so gossip spread about the action through stories that weren't accurate and were construed to fit a "Hero versus Villain" arc, where she was the Villain getting away with stuff. Most of the time this was wrong.

Yet for the part that was right, she was able to change and the people who were the so called Hero of their story, didn't change. She was able to get her name and make it into a positive light after a good year because she was actually able to explain herself. She was able to stand up for herself and still do all the things I said above. However this long lasting resentment of a few people from back then still sticks to her.

Seeing anyone change their public image from a lie to a truth is a motivational sight to behold. Seeing Ivy do it, made me determined to help more. After a while, she regained mod, I was able to help her with that but she was the reason she got mod. She was able to get from Junior to Leader again in 19 days.

It was nice seeing her get Leader again as it showed that the wrong decision was fixed. It was really satisfying by then.

She was Agent from the 15th July of 2018, to a few days ago on the 11th of December 2019. She retired as she grew out of GDA. I wanted to make this post earlier but I've literally been sick for like 4 days and making this post took me that long. Ivy, you are by far the most impactful member of GDA. You shaped GDA to what it is today and you won't be forgotten. Your ability to prove what was right for the Amino got us an active Agent, it got mods who had abused their positions demoted, rules implemented and taken away and an actually pleasing logo to look at.

You're the reason this Amino is still standing. Don't forget that.
