The mug is finally done! I just got it back from the firing, and I’m pretty happy with the results. The iron yellow turned out better than I expected, it was a much darker yellow then I thought it would be, and I’m very happy with it. The black outlining on the picture also turned out good. Unfortunately, two cracks formed in the rim sometime during the firing, which kind of sucks. Luckily, they’re small enough that the cup will still be functional. For the most part, I’m happy with the results.
Materials; porcelain clay, glaze, wax
Process; I threw it on a potter’s wheel. After it was leather hard, I trimmed it and added the carvings. Then it dried some more, before going through the bisque fire. After it came out of the bisque fire, I glazed it with black glaze (idk which type, the studio I take my classes from has a few) and iron yellow glaze. Then it went through the high fire, before getting picked up by me a few days later. The entire process took about four weeks.🙃
I’m super indecisive, so it took me a long time to decide, but I am now part of Team Being. So this is one of the entries for my team. Hopefully Bill counts as one of the creatures of Gravity Falls. *crossing fingers*
Edit: Thank you for the feature! :sparkling_heart: :satisfied:
