It is an American psychological horror movie directed by Richard Attenborough and is based on a novel of the same name.

Plot:
A ventriloquist is at the mercy of his vicious dummy while trying to renew with his high school crush.

I found this to be an interesting type of movie that I watched. The story is interesting on how a ventriloquist is talking to his dummy, who is convinced that he is alive. I really like the psychological horror of the movie with Corky mental state affecting him and him talking to his dummy. It really shows how there are people like this and the way they talk to an object. The movie builds up really well with his mental illness, affecting his mood and becoming deadly throughout the movie. Also, it seems like he has a spilled personality, with his dark side being the puppet. While I never found puppets to be creepy, he does play an important role with him being the devil side of Corky. As for the relationship with his high school crush, it's your standard stuff, but she does play the angel side with both of them starting to connect with each other. And I do like how the movie ends.

There's only a few characters in the movie, and they work out really well.
Corky is a ventriloquist who comes back to his hometown and meets with his crush. I do like the character with his build-up with his mental health and how there are two sides of his angel and devil side. Anthony Hopkins does a great job playing as the character and even voices the puppet who gives off an unsettling vibe to him.
Peggy Snow is his high school crush, whom he meets up with. While she mostly plays the love interested, she also plays the angel side with her seeming to calm down Corky bad side and how he wants to be with her, although she is married.

Magic is an interesting type of psychological horror movie that is both unique and eerie.
