Influencer (2022) Review

Is an American psychological horror movie directed by Kurtis David Harder.

Plot:

CW decides to take a social media influencer life and tries to hide it from people.

I found this to be a unique type of movie that I watched. The story is interesting with this strange girl who takes an influencer lifestyle for some reason. It's takes about 26 minutes with CW abandoned Madison on the island and steal her lifestyle. The movie is interesting on going into depth on people wanting to be like influencer that they see on social media and doing any chance to get it. But it shows that influencer lives aren't that great when you see it outside of social media. The movie is slower moving, which works for this type of movie and is built up with CW plans throughout. I do like the psychological horror with CW wanting to live like an influencer life, but slowly grows dissatisfied with it and trying to cover her track. Also, the movie is shot really well with its taking place in Thailand, and the cinematography looks amazing in it. And the ending itself is pretty good on how it ends.

So the movie mostly focuses on one character throughout the movie, with Madison only appearing at the beginning, and Ryan and Jessica slowly grew suspicious on CW.

CW is a tourist who wants to live a lifestyle of a influencer, but soon becomes dissatisfied with it. I found her to be a great villain, and the audience questioned what she really wanted in her life and the risks she took on getting it. Cassandra Naud does an amazing job as the character on how the portrayed character is and shows how the character is not trusted.
