Lover's Eye - Kingdom inspired Brooch

When I first got my Kingdom album from Louis' era, I was amazed at the inclusion of lover's eyes for each member in the photo book. Lover's eye were a custom in the 18th century, that when you had a (secret) lover you could get a miniature painting of their eye that you could incorporate into jewelry, so it wouldn't be obvious who it was. I love this concept and as I don't have a significant other, I decided to make one for one of my Kingdom biases (I can't decide on one bias). I chose to draw Ivan, as he got better concept photos for this purpose than Hwon. (It might be good to mention, I don't ship myself with anyone, I just think these brooches are cool)

I just painted all of this with acrylics on two layers of cardboard (second one for reinforcement) and sealed the whole thing with nail polish. I also glued a safety pin to the back, so I can use it as a brooch.

I'm not sure what I think about the frame, but the eye itself turned out quite like an oil painting in my opinion, I'm quite happy with it. Idk if I'll wear it much, but still lol

OMGGG WOW!!!! I REALLY LOVED HOW THE ARTWORK CAME BACK!! One thing I can really ire is your amount of research and dedication! It’s really nice reading about your thought process!

In addition, it’s super amazing that your using acrylics, cardboard and nail polish! I definitely have to give that a try one day! (Even though using acrylics is a bit harder for me since it dries kinda fast)

Yeah no stress, take your time with it. But I'm thrilled you like the idea enough to try it for yourself \(^•^)/

I didn't paint it white first, but you for sure can, it might actually help make the colours richer.

Also take some flat cardboard like for cereal boxes, not the weird stuff from shipping boxes lol

That's perfect then that you have the materials already, I was just saying that, because I wasn't sure if I was clear and the shipping box kind of cardboard (I think it's called corrugated cardboard in English) is horrible to work with in most situations lol
