Hello ravishing readers, welcome to an exciting collaboration that I am honored to present to you. The BTOB team has worked with the Pentagon team to create two marvelous blogs together with edits made by the amazing Sharu! In this collaboration we have picked Pentagon songs for BTOB to perform. Every individual has imagined a concept for them and has chosen Pentagon tracks as b-sides and title tracks for our conceptualizations. Each member has focused on different parts of the concept (like the music video, performance, vocals, vibe, rapping etcetera) they have come up with. Maybe the idea of this blog is still unclear, but you will get it as soon as you start reading. So without further ado, let us commence!

For this collaboration blog I have picked the b-side The Black Hall as the title track for BTOB. It is my absolute favorite Pentagon song and that is why I would love to see BTOB perform it on stage. The concept I would like to go for is royal with a pinch of sexy. The group has not really done such a concept before, the one that comes closest to it is I’ll Be Your Man. The outfits for this song will consist of satin blouses, suits and majestic uniforms. Notable details in the costumes will be extravagant frills, white collars, shiny diamonds, pearl necklaces, rings laced with gems and satin chokers. The color scheme of the clothes and the decor is going to be a mix of purple, dark blue, white, silver grey and black. As background the interior of a palace will be used and there will be a few Roman pillars as set pieces. The floor is going to have a marble pattern and the lighting will be mysteriously dim. Glitters in the make-up of the will twinkle in the faint light. Another important part of the stage is the choreography and it will consist of elegant arm movements, enticing floor parts and sleek foot manoeuvres. The ambience will be mature, a new and fresh feel, and everyone will fall in love with BTOB’s charms. The singing is also an essential part of this track, which BTOB will use to the fullest as they are know to be vocal wonders. Sensuality is going to prevail in the vocal parts and power will be the driving force behind the raps. Thus BTOB will show that they can pull of such an enticingly powerful performance while maintaining their image as a talented and well-rounded group.

The b-sides that I have picked are 1+1, Lucky and Lose Yourself as they are more fun and upbeat. They will without doubt bring more excitement and joyfulness to the dark and sophisticated concept of The Black Hall. Lose Yourself has this funky disco pop sound and it will add coolness and danceability to this notion. I feel like BTOB could go all out with the vocals on this one since ad-libs and high notes can be added easily into the soundscape of the song. Lucky is a relatively romantic and retro sounding tune that goes well with Lose Yourself and is going to be the complete opposite of The Black Hall, lovely and innocent. I would love to hear lots of fluffly rapping bits in this one since I adore listening to the rapper's slow and rather cute spitting styles. 1+1 is a soft song with an addictive hip hop sound, which is Lucky’s counterpart as it is quite adorable. Dynamic bars and smooth vocal parts will definitely be the killing points of this track because the sound is very trendy and easy to fall in love with. I think these melodies will sound very harmonious in consequence and it would be interesting to see BTOB’s performance of the sultry title track and execution of the light-hearted b-sides.

This collaboration is one I was very excited about during our preparations and I can’t believe that I can write for both teams about two groups I love so dearly, and to take the chance to share the discographies of both groups in the process of creating new concepts for each other. And when it came down to creating a new concept for BTOB out of songs from PENTAGON’s discography I was really indecisive on which songs to choose before I eventually created my own mini-album for them with some of my favorite sentimental and emotional songs from the group.
When I was thinking about what song to choose for the title track on BTOB’s new mini-album made out of PENTAGON songs I knew that I wanted to choose something emotional that would fit the tones of all of BTOB’s amazing vocalists, so that they could carry it out with the same emotion and power that PENTAGON’s vocals sing with, and eventually I decided upon “Shower of Rain”, produced by PENTAGON’s leader (and one of my ult biases) it is an amazing song about fighting away the tears that come with breakup and the unleaving feelings of grief for that broken relationship where to hide the tears that keep coming unending the best choice is to hide in the shower of a rainstorm. Also it’s nice to mention that this song isn’t originally a title track so there's no precedent for what type of music video BTOB could release to go along with the song itself, I can imagine that whatever they release though would be amazing and emotional in the best ways.
![pentagon : a conceptualization-[IMG=Z1N]

[C]Hello ravishing readers, welcome to an exciting](https://image.staticox.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpm1.aminoapps.programascracks.com%2F8018%2F84c186af854391de49cb132429c0f49f85235467r1-1500-500v2_hq.jpg)
Now moving onto the b-sides I chose, and like I said I really wanted to create a cohesive mini-album where all of the songs would complement each other sound and lyric wise, emotional and sincere in every aspect and something that could fit the BTOB’s strengths. Now the first b-side I chose for them is actually one of PENTAGON’s Japanese songs, “Cosmo” which is a sentimental song about loving someone when apart and is written by the group’s Japanese member Yuto who also delivers a very powerful rap in the song. ANd when it comes down to performing this song I don’t think the BTOB will have a lot of trouble because they have Japanese versions of some of their other songs and have performed in Japan. I think that when it comes down to the raps in the songs it would be more sentimental and better if they were replaced for raps written by the BTOB themselves but overall I think that is the only change that should be made, and originally the song does have a music video but as “Shower of Rain” is gonna be the title track instead there’s no reason for a new music video for “Cosmo”.
The second b-side I chose is “Spring Snow” and this might be a bit abrupt compared to my other choices compared to how much more upbeat it is in showing it’s love towards someone and even just the production has a lot of rock elements, where the song even opens up with a guitar riff, but you can’t say that the vocals in this song don’t bop and that the of BTOB won’t be able to carry out this song so amazingly! I wouldn't even mind if it was rearranged by Ilhoon and even paired up with a new instrumental (maybe something classical like an arrangement filled with piano, violins, and cello or maybe even band style with a large range of brass instruments)! I would just love to see how they would take on the project for this b-side because either way this song is an amazing one.
My third b-side for BTOB’s mini-album made up of PENTAGON songs is “Camellia”! Now this song is from the same album as “Shower of Rain” as is another very emotional song about love, but this time it's about the positive, about overcoming strive together and blooming in the harsh winters as a beautiful flower, so blooming in a beautiful and loving relationship despite the harsh glares from those around who will try to make you cold. And as BTOB has less than PENTAGON I can just imagine how they could possibly split up this song with large pieces being sung so beautifully by the different and with overlapping harmonies, ugh it's just a perfect imagination. Then I wouldn’t be mad at all if they were to add more sentimental raps like the one located early on in the song throughout (I feel like it could really be a place for Huta and Peniel to shine if they can carry on the same emotion as the singing in their rapping).
The last song I chose as a b-side is “Stay”, a song originally sung by PENTAGON’s vocal unit, and what a coincidence the unit has seven and BTOB have seven in total. Seems like fate… However, I really do love this gorgeous song about staying by each other's sides through thick and thin so that happiness can persist and so that smiles can reign free. It’s really the perfect last edition for a b-side due to how emotional and beautiful of a song it is. It’s genuine in every way and just heart-warming where you get drawn in, and with BTOB being known as the vocal group, the ballad group, the perfect singers, I really can’t imagine that they can do anything to this
song to ruin it for me or others.
I really hope you liked this mini-album and concept I created for BTOB out of PENTAGON songs. I wanted it to be genuine and sincere, dreamy and heart-wrenching and something feasible that could take pre-existing songs and imagine a new way where they are appreciated and transformed more.

this was pretty difficult yet i picked a song done by a their hip hop unit. that's not necessarily a music style btob is known for,but with they way they're so hardworking and artistic they would make it work. i mean there's a great balance of vocals delivered by kino and hui while yuto and wooseok do the diverse rap parts. it's also quite an emotional song with a more aggressive feeling to it which is ed by wooseok's kind of screaming 'lost paradise' during the chorus while having such raspy vocals. plus it's such a powerful and impressive song while especially the melody sounds so detailed and mind-blowing. it's also rather slow and comforting yet playful which is simply produced in such an ingenious way. so like i think that the diversity btob's vocals portray would be a good match for this pretty and stunning song. and i think that literally anyone could do the highnotes done by hui in the end while i would give the chorus to peniel, yuto's deep toned part to minhyuk and wooseok's part after that to ilhoon. i also imagine the mv to be so imaginative and expressive while there's an emotional blue touch to it. i can't really explain why,but somehow the mv concept makes sense to me while i would
add a few red shades as well

i thought about switching both groups title tracks with bsides,so i picked those two title tracks for btob as bsides. so at first 'daisy' is an aesthetic yet emotional song which will get you in your feelings. like they're singing with such ion and sadness to their singing and rapping which fits btob so well. those boys are most likely known for their ballad type of songs or in general quite sad songs,so this would be a great addition to their list of masterpieces they've released so far. it's in general a very collected and beautiful song with a melody i find so soothing yet truly powerful especially with the switches between sounding more fierce or more calm. plus the song itself suits the various voice tones the of btob are able to deliver while their diversity in singing techniques would add so much uniqueness to this song. and their rappers being so skilled and expressive works so well together with this type of songs while their different voice tones would shine so brightly in here. then also 'basquiat' being another rather slow and emotional song btob could easily make their own by adding their own individual colour to it which is so unique. like it yet again has a perfect balance of rapping and singing while the switch between powerful to soothing is so well done. and even it's in general a rather calm and collected song it still sounds extremely impactful simply because their voices are strong and outstanding. their individual voice tones create something so memorable which is similar to how btob makes their songs even more breathtaking and stunning. it's also somehow reminds me of 'i'll be your man' just that this song by pentagon has a different feeling of majesty and elegance to it

For the title track, I decided to choose Pentagon’s b-side song "Violet", released in 2017 on the Demo_02 album. It’s one of my favourite mvs from them and I love how so many objects in the video use the colour "Violet" ! The acting was also top notch and made me feel like I was watching a Kdrama. One popular explanation I read for the mv was that each Pentagon member that showed up symbolised a different part of this relationship, from when it first blossomed to when it withered. The romantic storyline reminds me a lot of BTOB’s releases and I think it’s a concept they would own well. It’s a very vocal heavy song- but also has very fitting rap parts so BTOB’s rap line would fit right in as well. I feel like Minhyuk’s deep voice would fit Wooseok’s rap, with Peniel taking Yuto’s and then Ilhoon’s with Dawn’s as they both have slightly raspy and nasally tones ! Looking at the vocalists, I especially love the parts where Jinho and Hui sing the chorus. I can already imagine Eunkwang and Changsub singing these parts as well and just how stunning it would sound ! Hyunsik singing Kino’s parts in the pre-chorus would also be so mesmerising, with Sungjae taking some of the slower lines that really showcase his rich and deep voice. As for BTOB’s rendition of the mv, I feel like they would also choose to portray a love story but I could imagine a darker or sadder plot ?? "Violet" begins bright and sunny at a bus stop, but for BTOB the mv would start on a gloomy note and could tell the story of a breakup that has already happened rather than going through their relationship from start to end like Pentagon did. The violet hue could also be changed a bit, rather than a warm and bright colour, it would be darker and colder to represent the feelings
of being heartbroken.
![pentagon : a conceptualization-[IMG=Z1N]

For the b-sides to "Violet", I chose Pentagon’s songs “It’s Over” from their Demo_01 album and “Nothing” from their Ceremony album. “It’s Over” features a strong piano and acoustic guitar instrumental with a mid-tempo that feels sad but not too overwhelming. It’s about a guy breaking up with his girlfriend because he realised he doesn't love her anymore. It relates to the overall theme I’m going for and has a sad but not too powerful feel that matches "Violet" well. It showcases many of the ’ ad-libs and has an addictive repetitiveness to it that is easy on the ears but pulls at our heartstrings. For BTOB’s rendition, I feel like making it at a slower pace would be very suitable and I can already imagine how epic hearing BTOB perform “It’s Over” live would be. It would be so heart wrenching to Melodys and the harmony between them all would pull everything together. As for the song “Nothing”, it’s a mellow hip-hop track that really let’s the rappers shine, even having rap-like lines for the vocalists as well which would suit BTOB so well and display their more energetic side more. It has a funkier and brighter beat that will add a nice contrast to both “Violet'' and “It’s Over”. The way I interpret the lyrics is that Pentagon is watching their ex lover from afar. They hate seeing them happy without them but have no choice but to move on as well. I can already imagine a fun mv with BTOB chasing after their ex in a playful and almost silly way to match the fun instrumentals, somewhat like their comeback with “Beep Beep”, which would add even more depth to this tracklist and show the many sides of a breakup. It’s an ending that matches the storyline of “Violet” perfectly and wraps up this fictional album. While it doesn’t have a fairy tale ending, it ends on a more vague note and doesn’t necessarily prove whether they got back together or not- which matches the mysteriousness of life well and gives it a sad but not completely hopeless conclusion that is similar to BTOB’s past work like the angsty “I’ll Be Your Man” or the serious and
emotional “Beautiful Pain”.
Overall, this is a concept I would love to see BTOB do. They are such powerful performers with the most moving voices and while I went with a concept familiar to them, it would still add a uniqueness to their discography
that mixes all types of styles.

tw - mention of depression and blood
I chose this track for btob mainly because of the lyrics that seem like a shout to the world. pentagon deserves like atleast 50 million views with this, but ugh, people slept on this song big time, it was so worthy of a first win. the entire song made me feel like btob could own it, for the rap section made me think that minhyuk and ilhoon could totally grasp and slay us since the voices seem quite similar to wooseok and dawn's. this song like I said earlier seemed like a shout out to the world, while mentioning about how they're ready to even bleed in order to reach us, keep on running until they reach where they finally want to be. btob also have such deep meanings behind their songs, so this felt like a really good pick for me. Knowing how yanan and dawn had to go through the phase of depression made this song feel even more meaningful to me, while the long run in the kpop industry might have been a burden for btob, yet they kept running forward, and are still running ahead and making a name for themselves. I really adore both these groups, for the talent is immaculate! Hui and Hyunsik seem like the brain of their group from writing and composing songs, so if they ever came together to make something, my mind would most definitely run wild over it. Like this in btob version might actually make me cry harder?! Something about btob vocals has always made me get the goosebumps and thinking about how they would make the mv look like makes me want to really know what they would come up with. Each and every btob music video is so well produced and with the meaning that "like this" has, I can only imagine the amount of pain they would make the mv look like. Maybe something like golden child's burn it mv would seriously just have me gone for good. Being such good actors themselves, I can atleast imagine this much coming from them :"( they're so precious and having to listen to the song from their perspective would just be so ethereal for me to listen to !

here is the live full version of the song since the mv barely only has 2 minutes of the actual song :(( while thinking of what song to choose for a bside, I tripped over this beautiful ballad style song by pentagon and tbh, it was so so beautiful listening to all their vocals while the high notes were so pretty and heavenly to listen to! It made me think that maybe if btob did the song, the ballad would sound more sadder and I'd end up sobbing over the beauty of their voices put together. Mainly the high notes being so freaking beautiful, having to hear btob sing it live would just be perfect!!! The ptg rappers had a soft vocal spot in this song and minhyuk already being a great singer could prolly take over some lead singer vocals, while ilhoon and peniel could do the soft vocal parts of dawn and wooseok respectively. Btob and ballads are a must in an album, so yeah this would be my
first pick for the side track.
since I picked a more ballad main title and side track 1, I chose this song to be an ending single. This song has more of the beautiful vocals but also does make listeners sway, so a happy last song is what I'll be giving them here. it also kind of matches with the track names "like this", "when I was in love" it speaks about a nostalgic feeling, so I think this song works well together that way atleast. I love how the beat flows with the words in this song, very pentagonish, btob could give this style a try since I can totally see them making wonderful harmonies with this track while also making it a fun to listen to type of track. The lyrics in the song talk about nostalgia in itself and I found the lyrics quite cute too! They speak about walking under the moonlight and it suddenly reminded me of sungjae for no reason haha, maybe it's because it reminds me of those kdramas. Anyways, I think these songs really work well with what
btob could try out in the future.

Hey everyone! It’s chanel here and I am absolutely pumped to be participating in this collab blog cause I loved the idea! Both boy groups are cube ent’s stars with amazing songs that fit in a diverse range of genres. For the title track of BTOB’s album is going to be pentagon’s naughty boy being the title track originally from Thumbs Up! The b-sides from pentagon are going to be “die for you” and “when it rains in night”. I was able to discover more pentagon songs thanks to this collab
and will be talking about each song!
Firstly, Naught Boy! This wasn’t the kind of song I expected when I heard it after sorta taken in by the titles. The sweet whistling and guitar strums definitely remind me of btob’s typical vibe but after listening to the whole song, it definitely fits perfectly with pentagon’s upbeat, summery vibe. I think this more cute concept would be fun for btob to try matched with their amazing vocals that would suit the song sinice pentagon like to harmonise and have higher pitched adlibs throughout the song with lots of layering. The piano chords also add to the vibe and I think this title track would be good for btob. Challenging them a bit with the style but also suiting them somehow being very vocal strong. The chorus also hits nicely not being too upbeat and energetic but makes you smile with their enthusiasm and bright atmosphere. I love the part after the chorus where they are sorta chanting along with each other. It makes you feel safe and protected which btob does so I think it would be sweet for fans and also the fun conversational part after it was cute! Near the conclusion, the vocals of pentagon shine! And btob would totally be able to pull it off! So yeah, I think naughty boy would be a good fit as a title track for their ‘new’ album since it’s very unexpected and would allow fans to
see a totally new side to them!

Next, die for you. This choice was honestly a little random but I wanted to find a more sexy song that suits the overall theme of the album and incorporated unexpected elements to the album which I think it totally does. It is a somewhat upbeat and dance based song with electronic beats but isn’t overwhelming or too dark so it fits btob. The song makes you anticipate but doesn’t have a too strong hit/hook during the chorus as a b-side. As you listen, it actually is more softer than you think, portraying a strong message. It explores the common theme of love of loving someone a lot. The rap also is more chill, overlaid by the chorus. The song overall is very impactful but the music and vocals are overpowering to the title track. Therefore, it is suitable for btob’s
album bringing a new and unexpected
element to the whole album.
Finally, when it rains in night. This is a very soft song that explores loving someone again. It is part of thumbs up but is very delicate in contrast to the original title track. The song again uses piano chords but in a more melodic and emotional way. The vocals are highlighted with a more classical style of singing. I think btob would be quite comfortable with this song being more their style as they can convey heaps of emotion through their music. Although there are still high notes giving them areas use their awesome talent. The chorus is quite catchy and more slow but is actually similar to the other b-side but focuses on another key element. When it rains in night is a longer song with more raps that confess to audience. Near the conclusion of the song, the vocals are amazing perfectly hit, btob could pull it off I bet! Overall, I think when it rains in night would be a nice song to add in this album as btob would enjoy it!
In conclusion, I had heaps of fun participating in this blog! The title track from pentagon, I decided to choose was “naughty boy”. It is a more playful and upbeat song that explore love. The b-sides “die for you” and “when it rains in night” similarly look at the same key theme while incorporating other element’s styles in the song like sexy or more solemn. Therefore, I think this would be a fun album btob could promote since it suits
their style while challenging them and
using their talented vocals!

Thank you you so much for reading the entire blog and be sure to check out the Pentagon team's blog to read about their concepts and songs for BTOB. I truly hope you enjoyed and liked the ideas we have presented to you through our writing. It was incredibly fun to participate in this blog, dive into Pentagon's discography and create concepts for BTOB. I liked working with the leader of the Pentagon team CJ and poster Nan. The whole collaboration experience was pleasant. I am proud of both teams and I hope the BTOB team will collaborate with more teams in the future as this was very inspiring, nice and got my creative juices flowing. Goodbye for now, I will you the next time.
