Around The Fire

I have a feeling this may be used against me at somepoint but here we go. I hope you enjoy

Sometimes I wish. That I didn't live in this country or well. Rather someplace else. In a nicer house, in a quieter area.

So I could do this.

I wish to sit around a bonfire pit. The bonfire in the middle on a stone surface, around are long outdoor, but comfy loungers, recliner ones. It's fall season, as it is now, it's getting cold but not too cold. It's not quite raining yet either.

The evening starts, I go out and light the bonfire with some starter paper and a single match, there's enough room on the stone table set, for there to be a place for food and drinks. Each chair is sat round in a circle or even just a semi circle. It's starting to get dark, the sky is clear, there's a small breeze and you can hear the birds g distantly and the small cricket sounds behind the soft crackles of the fire as it starts to build more into the pit.

The flames dance around in the light breeze, the warm smell of logs burning mixing with the salty sea air because I would prefer to be by the coast. The chill of the wind to the warmth it emits by you, close enough to feel content without being too hot or too cold.

It's still warm enough for you to wear normal clothes but maybe grab a blanket or two because they're the best, along with extra seat cushions because you want everyone to be soft and cozy outside.

Go back inside to gather some snacks, crackers, marshmallows and chocolate to make smores because who can't resist those. Then chips, candy, popcorn even. Maybe some friends could bring some things. Then you have a choice of drinks, some people prefer alcohol or you can have hot chocolate with cream, sprinkles and mini marshmallows. Head back outside to lay them out

Let us bring books and sketchbooks, a guitar for music. Let everything be natural as we draw or read the night away, getting lost in conversations thay don't even make sense. Stealing pages and sung out notes as everything, even the atmosphere just floats.

These soft hours, people make fun of us for. Are everything we need and who cares about what anyone else thinks when their opinion is irrelevant to our cause. Between us are a few friends, some closer, a couple or two. We all got along and knew each other well. Some people we could have soft conversations without awkward silences and breathless tension.

Conversations that flow with a sweet ring, conversations that could go until the fire was in ashes and the sun begins to rise because you never realise how time can fly. Maybe each of us had a partner so no one was sure to be left out as we take up our seats under the dimly lit sky.

In the distance the small glow of the moon hangs high as the clouds sometimes over, accompanied with the stars you can count and read together, creating pictures and images. The important part of making memories together.

Participation. Anticipation. The things that drive us, ion. Because everything will have a reaction but even in par we have a slight control of the outcome.

This will sound soppy but I wish for a girl or boy or even hou non binary pals. Now don't get me wrong I'm not looking nor asking for anyone.

But what I think would be nice is to have a parter sat in my lap, their back to my chest so I can wrap my arms around the waist. My chin lightly resting on their should as they play with my hands or hair. They can be wearing my hoodies because I have millions but I'll wrap them in a blanket to make sure they don't get cold.

And so to the others as we sit and make smores, not having any worries, just enjoying the outdoors as the night es us by. We can talk about short stories and personal memories, the conversations so soft no one in the world would dare to listen.

We're not wanting to break the peace before us as light giggles and sweet nothings dance as much as the flames infront of us.

We'd have no distractions, no phones or other interactions that would pull us from softened state, we would actually talk and in that enjoy each others company. Roasting Marshmallows and eating chips, no one is left out, no one is ignored. In this moment it is only us. Us against the world.

A place to relax and destress, you can vent your feels and everything you have to express because here we are , we are love and we have nothing to lose and nothing to fear. We are bigger than anything in the world, bigger than anything it could throw at us.

Or to enjoy the silence as the flames climb higher but not out of control, making something out of nothing, it's all at our control. Memories to make even in peace.

And as the fire begins to die and you become tired, rooms will be ready for everyone there and I'll you to a room so you can sleep well. I fear when the moment ends and everything in life restarts and we go back to pretending that everything is fine. But I'll our nights by the fire

I wish I could have this. But none of this is something I can achieve right now. A dream, maybe, one day a reality. But until then. I guess I will write to my hearts content.
