forgive the words i've chosen

forgive the fire's amber flames

and the memories of you it took

the survival of the heart

it takes another tribute

another burden on my hands

oh well, a heart's a fighter

a constant battle to win

the burden of love and hate

always another to share

another body hits the waves

flooding the mind, drowning it out

just like it flooded Atlantis

bodies fill up my trenches

the fighting of a soldier
