for how strange i am

friend to all, friend to none

make no mistake, i am no fool

you must not, or ever, take me for one

nor am i blind, for i see it all

the pain in your eyes

the dark depths of your fall

the tremble of your frozen hands

the way you linger on us, on me

from far away, barely close

your chants, "for everything, i am sorry"

you chant away as you mourn us

the weight of your words doesn't equal your fault

you ignore the fact it means nothing at all

when your legs are still where they were before

you and only you have caused this fall

you're standing at the edge of the bridge

unaware that you're holding the fire

you stay only on your side of the pit

and yet accuse me, call after me, call me a liar

words mean nothing, n̴̢̛͎o̵̝̫̗̍̂͂t̵̖̠̝̆̓͛h̶͉̲̹͋͂̈́i̸̤͇͠ń̴͖̣͌͝ͅg̶͇̺̓̔ at all

you could've saved yourself, dear

but you've done n̴̢̛͎o̵̝̫̗̍̂͂t̵̖̠̝̆̓͛h̶͉̲̹͋͂̈́i̸̤͇͠ń̴͖̣͌͝ͅg̶͇̺̓̔ to soften your fall

and turned yourself into the villain here

"friend, best friend, er, brother,"

not just you but us at each other

liar, fool, betrayer, betrayed

brother or not, it's all the same

enemy, stranger, someone i once knew

it's all the same, always the same

to you anyway. not to me but to you

you took your aim and shot it away

this was both easy and incredibly difficult to write, gotta it.

but in my opinion it is one of the best i wrote, so i won't edit it at all.

this poem is about someone, for someone, and directed at someone, and trust me when i say that they know exactly who they are.

i also know that they're reading this, because of course they are. they won't stop even when i ask them to.

oh well. life's a bitch and sometimes you just don't get what you want.
