Welcome back

It's the Softest Satan you'll ever meet here to bring you another blog which seems like it’s been ages since I’ve been able to sit down and actually write something. But here we are. This will probably be a relatively short blog if you are interested in reading it.

Demonology

Demonology of course is the study of demons but not just those simple or obvious ones but all types of demons whether they are human, non human, spirited or seperable souls, some of them, in which have never seeked a body host.

A lot of demons in the demonology can be separated from African and Melanesians but these are just two distinguishable groups in many many others depending on their depictions and past beliefs, to those who believe, write about or have seen.

In different beliefs the meaning of needing demons in this world can all speculate to different things, however it all boils down to one meaning. There would be no good without evil. If there was no balance, as shown rightly with the ying and yang symbol, there must be a counter force to everything we see and do, every action has a reaction. If this became unbalanced, if there was no evil, no one would ever see the good in something, nothing would ever stand out and one would never know the difference between right and wrong because that structure has never been set in place by anyone.

Of course you can question who has the right to say what is wrong and what is right, however everyone also knows that without these elements in place the world would remain a chaotic warzone, built on selfishness, greed and lust, lust for power, for dominance and such like. Humans are the most dangerous species on the planet because we have the survival instinct but we also have the ability to destroy anything and what makes it worse, is that we have complete and utter control over our actions and knowing the consequences to them. That is what makes us dangerous, with no rules, it would be carnage.

Of course, I’m not saying everyone can be like that, there are civilisations out there that run with no laws and rules and they manage to thrive, even those that live with no money but work on sole trade and friendships with everyone around, but these are still small. Anyway, another conversation for another time.

In many places, demons are here to rule and tempt us into negative things, and sins as they would be seen under the rule of god, this being mostly the same for any religion as a lot, though different, follow the same moral pattern.

My Interest

My interest delves into all of demonology, I have already studied Dante’s inferno and the seven layers of hell, linked with the 7 demon kings, those of lust, greed, sloth, wrath and the rest that are linked in. But again, this is just one adaptation, one layer, one part of it.

I want to be able to go back to the origins, why people believe in these, how they came about, the art and the history gone into historic and modern demonology, I want to pick apart piece by piece and learn something new and of course, learn about it’s counterparts, are demons just demons, ghosts and evil spirits that haunt people in the night, devil spawns to watch over hell.

As a satanist. I want to learn more but knowing that I still believe in myself, it’s outreaching my knowledge on my own personal gain. I think it’s an interesting subject that I haven’t been able to really look in too.
