Yes, you heard very right
A human computer
I know you have heard this word before.
And you might also know some human computers.
Today I want to tell you about one such personality.
But first tell me ,can anyone solve this ? ☞ ↴

∛ —(•+•÷[ <3*<3*<3 ]÷•+•)—
cube roots of 95,443,993
in 2 seconds, without pen, paper, calculator
Or
7,686,369,774,870 × 2,465,099,745,779.
in 28 seconds without anything
Hmm i think No
But some great people can do these days
But i am wondering that even in 1936 there were people who used to solve the biggest number of maths solution in a jiffy just by thinking in mind.
{Is one of them}

or
Type “ first indian computer "
you will get your answer In Shakuntala devi
❁ཻུ۪۪.
Who was she
Let's come with me on her journey,if you want to know
math wizard, human calculator and human computer she was called by these names
🕊
➢ Born ─── 4 November 1929
➢ Died ─── 21 April 2013 (aged 83)
➢ Birth place ─── India
➢ Other names ─── Human computer,math wizard
➢ Occupation ─── Author,mental calculator, astrologer
➢ Education ─── Nothing
➢ Spouse ─── Paritosh Banerji
➢ Children ─── Anupama Banerji
🕊
yes, you read and i wrote true, she never went to school. you have had heard about human computer with formal education but devi gained this name without any formal education.
❁ཻུ۪۪ Her achievements ❁ཻུ۪۪
🕊 Related to mathematics 🕊
She was an Indian writer and mental calculator, popularly known as the "Human Computer". Devi strove to simplify numerical calculations for students.
🕊
*Her talent earned her a place in the 1982 edition of The Guinness Book of World Records. However, the certificate for the record was given posthumously on 30 July 2020, despite Devi achieving her world record on 18 June 1980 at Imperial College, London.
🕊
Devi was a precocious child and she demonstrated her arithmetic abilities at the University of Mysore without any formal education. yes you heard a damn truth She was not formally educated, and was far from exceptional in cognitive tests as i told earlier, and yet she could perform calculations with large numbers in a few seconds, sometimes instantly.
🕊
By all s, She was entirely self-taught. Daughter of a circus performer, she travelled with her parents since she was three years old, and is said to have cultivated her calculating abilities while performing card tricks.
Once she began to extract cube roots rapidly in her head, she became a performer exhibiting her skills. By the time she was a teenager, she was already travelling around the world, usually before audiences in colleges and universities.
🕊 As Author 🕊
Shakuntala Devi authored several books, including at least half a dozen on calculations, mathematical puzzles, and grooming children in mathematical skills. The books show she was familiar with certain mathematical concepts that one usually learns during a formal education.
🕊
There was kind of a lull, post-Independence,
:point_right: but then in 1977, writer and math wizard Shakuntla Devi published “The World of Homosexuals”. Arguably the first of its kind in India, the book contained interviews with homosexual men, set against the backdrop of the Emergency years.
In it, she wrote that “rather than pretending that homosexuals don’t exist” it was time “we face the facts squarely in the eye and find room for [homosexual people].”
🕊
Devi wrote a number of books in her later years, including novels as well as texts about mathematics, puzzles, and astrology.
❁ཻུ۪۪ A look at her skills ❁ཻུ۪۪
🕊 Maths calculation 🕊
Cube roots: It began with extracting cube roots of large numbers, which she could do in her head rapidly while still a child in the 1930s. Then in 1988, in a test of her abilities conducted by the psychologist Arthur Jensen at the University of California-Berkeley,
🕊
(Shakuntala Devi mentally calculated the cube roots of 95,443,993 (answer 457) in 2 seconds, of 204,336,469 (answer 589) in 5 seconds, and of 2,373,927,704 (answer 1334) in 10 seconds.)
🕊
(Higher roots: She calculated the 7th root of 455,762,531,836,562,695,930,666,032,734,375 (answer 46,295) in 40 seconds. )
This means that 46,295 multiplied by itself seven times yields that number of 27 digits; Shakuntala Devi worked backwards from the 7th power to derive the root. This too was recorded in the test at Berkeley in 1988.
🕊
(At Imperial College on June 18, 1980, Shakuntala Devi was asked to multiply two 13-digit numbers:
7,686,369,774,870 × 2,465,099,745,779.
She got the answer in 28 seconds — [C]18,947,668,177,995,426,462,773,730.)

🕊 Calendar calculations 🕊
Calendar calculations: Given any date in the last century, she could instantly say which day of the week that date fell on.For example,if you gave her the date July 31, 1920, she would immediately tell you that it was a Saturday.
If the date was stated in the order month, day, year (for example, July-13-1920), her average response time was about 1 second.
But when the dates were stated to her in the order year, month, day (for example 1920-July-31), “her answers came about as fast as one could start the stopwatch”,the 1988 test at Berkeley found.
🕊
Once she went for a show ,where other people picked a problem from computer to test her,and Devi said its wrong question but they claimed Devi doesn't know the answer..and Devi said no your computer is wrong.
it was for the first time in her all life.and just after one day they got to know Devi was correct and computer was wrong.this happened in London.
🕊 I think her last and one more incredible achievement 🕊
A film based on her biography

A film based on her life was released this year.In which her every achievements were told. Her motherhood was also told. Her daughter helped a lot in the making of this film by telling the story.
The biggest thing was that the lead role played her as if she was really Shakuntala Devi. This is really a award winning film. And actress hold this honour. How she solved the maths in fun that was really appreciable. She really enjoyed and played with maths .She always used to say that maths is her life.
but her relationship with the daughter was of a very anxious state.but in the last she proved her best motherhood for daughter.
So here is the great story of a brilliant and god gifted mind and fun loving person :sparkles:
🕊
One most important fact of her life which is really a proud for indians, the fact was that she was used to wear saree( an indian traditional cloth for female) and when she went to London then there she got popularity and someone offered her a big show and invited her in their party then she said i won't wear anything else, I won't change my dress-up.. salute to her.
here i only want to say
Whatever you are, be a good one
If Devi can be good in calculations and all without any academic education then we can also with our talent, just need to recognize our strength as well
sources of this information is internet. I found one source and then i went deeply after watching the movie.
now gonna close this blog , i hope you enjoyed to read it.
Bye, take care,have a nice day/night

Awwweee... my role model Shakuntala Devi mam   ♀
I wish I had her brain power to solve physics numericals in just 10 to 20 seconds. :joy:
Great post it reminds me that how terrible my calculations are....
