So recently I've (23f) been having some trouble with a coworker at my job. Whenever I went on break they would talk to me nonstop and I like to read books or watch movies on my breaks so it was very distracting to have him talk to me. Being a boomer he also holds some pretty old, misogynistic views about men and women so I really wasn't a fan of him talking to me about his views during my breaks. I've been trying to find ways of making him not talk to me in a polite way and even turned to Reddit at one point for advice. Fast forward to 2 days ago I brought in some cookies that my girlfriend and I made. I told my coworkers that I brought some cookies in and the man that always talks to me during my break heard me say "I made them with my girlfriend" and now he doesn't talk to me on my breaks. If I knew telling him I had a girlfriend would bring out the silent homophobe in him I would've told him I had a girlfriend the day he was hired lol 🤷🏽♀. Anyway, homophobia and misogyny is bad so don't be like my coworker.
I told a coworker I have a girlfriend and now they no longer speak to me 🤷🏽♀
