Hello my Bimbos!
(if you didn’t get my new introduction, it’s a pun on my name ;D)
Today I’ve decided to participate in the Awareness Challenge! I’m actually really happy this challenge is going on and I’m seeing many wonderful posts with many different subjects that I’ve wanted to make posts on myself. So I really wanted to in as well! If you have any further questions on this subject, please ask away and I will answer to the best of my ability!
Side note: I hope you don’t mind the L Lawliet theme! It’s his birthday today =). Also happy Halloween!

I am speaking about the unfortunate failure of the October Strike. If you don’t know what the October Strike was, it was meant to be an international strike beginning on the 15th of October. The goals of it were to raise minimum wage, get rid of wage gaps, 3 day work weeks, and other general things of that nature.
The plan was for people to stop going to work, stoping buying anything, not using electronics or anything that costs money, until the economy crashed or got near to it and we would inevitably get what we want. However, it failed horribly.
It was originally called to attention and planned by a Tik Tok and it gained a good amount of popularity. However, the original people who planned it out backed down. And that left the planning responsibility to a group of anonymous young white individuals who had no experience in organizing and the group was very divided on how long the strike needed to last and who should be allowed to participate.
It was planned only over social media. It was planned too early to stay on top of algorithms and gain more traction, while also being planned too late to be put into action.
The goal was also never exactly distinctly stated either. It essentially gradually got watered down to “fair taxes”.
(Had trouble wording this, so a lot this explanation is just a reworded version of how vanguardigan on Tik Tok explained this)

I wanted to go over the reasons why it failed so that the next time something like this comes to attention, it doesn’t fail again.

Again, so it doesn’t fail the next something like this is planned out.

I am ionate about this because we should not live in a society where if you do not “contribute enough” you simply don’t deserve to live. And that is what capitalism is.
While I am not somebody that has ever struggled financially, I fully understand how much of a problem it is. In America, there are more empty homes than there are homeless individuals. These people could be housed and fed and safe but they’re not. And it’s not because they’re lazy and they need to get a job.
It’s because no one will hire them because they don’t have access to hygiene products, or nice clothes, or even a sure way of getting to work. They could have that if they had money, which you can at a job, and it’s just an endless loop.
Capitalism runs on the hatred of poor people and something needs to be done about it.

[cb] Hello my Bimbos!

We need to understand that strikes cannot be planned in a short amount of time. It is going to take years for another strike to be properly planned and put into action. And we can’t expect it to be an overnight thing. Strikes will last as long as they need to and it might be uncomfortable to an extent. But a slight bit of uncomfort shouldn’t drive people away from making society a better place.
If you expect people to straight up not go to their jobs, you need to be able to help stabilize them financially. For a strike to work, that’s gonna be a lot of people to pay for their bills and food and whatever else they may need. So, fundraisers are definitely a necessity.
As far as planning a strike goes, you need to have experience in organization. You need to learn how to do those things. You need to know what you’re doing. So if you are interested in something like that, please pursue it! Take a class, a club, etc.
And don’t do something like this for the sake of performance. If you truly don’t care about the harm that capitalism is causing, so be it. But don’t act like you do care. Don’t give us false hope. This is something that needs to taken seriously.
Goodbye
That is all for this post! Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to read it! I hope you all a wonderful day and I will see you in my next post!
