The way I love

Loving someone is a beautiful thing,

People are always saying how it's amazing.

Whether it's loving your family , friends or pet,

Everyone ires it but they often forget.

That love comes in so many different ways,

It can come in smiles or sunny days.

So why don't people understand my way of loving?

Ever since I was a child , I've always found people stunning.

Men , women , or in between, it didn't really matter.

I never cared if someone was skinnier or fatter.

I fall in love with the heart and mind,

Who cares what you look like if you aren't kind .

It took me a while to figure out why I felt the way I did.

It was scary and confusing , so I made excuses and I hid.

I kept quiet until I let everything out,

Although I was subtle , I couldn't just shout.

I had to carefully choose,

Which words I was going to use.

But one time or another,

They still came out with a stutter.

Although I didn't always get the response I wanted to receive,

At least , some of the weight on my chest could leave.

How can people say it's a phase?

When you describe falling for someone's gaze.

How can people say it's a sin?

When your feelings are so strong you don't know where to begin.

Some people will say that you're too young or that you're confused.

Some people , in a bad way , will be amused.

But you know what they say isn't true,

And you'll try your best so that it doesn't get to you.

But after a really long time , I finally do feel proud.

For being who I am and to be able to say it out loud.

So if you fall for men ,women , or all the above.

Be proud of the way that you love.
