Chapter 1

It’s been two years since Grace had first arrived at Westside’s attitude adjustment program.

The adjustment to her new home hadn’t been an easy one. But despite all odds Grace had found a new family here in Westside.

The first person she met was on her first day there; She had been waiting in the office while some social workers filled out her paperwork when she saw a boy.

He looked as if he’d been crying. His eyes were red, his face all blotchy.

“Hi” Grace said

The boy waved in response,

“I’m Grace what’s your name?”

“Nick” he sniffed.

Little did Grace know that this would be the day that she would recall as meeting the first member of her new family and current crush.

Nick was a complicated guy; He was quite and shy, but the minute that he warmed up to you there was no way to shut him up.

He had to be one of the most talented artist that Grace knew; there was something about his warm brown eyes and caramel brown hair that made him able to light up a room like the sun.

The second member of the family was Rachel.

She was a sassy smart-alic 12 year old girl. If there was one thing that she loved to do it was make trouble; the teachers never had any success in trying to keep her under control. She have just arrived a year ago but Rachel knows the layout of Westside better than most.

She always was going on about how she was going to be a famous singer someday, and if you heard her voice you would definitely believe her. It could lure a pirate ship to the depths of the ocean!

Rachel has light blonde hair and bright blue eyes that seemed to sparkle like water.

The final member of the family was the newest. Terri has only arrived 6 months ago but she had ed the group quickly. (Nick was still suspicious of her sometimes).

She has black coal hair and eyes like shinny copper. She always had a warm smile on. But there was a sense of mystery to her that Grace hadn’t figured out quite yet.

Like Grace, Terri also loved building things. She was always tinkering trying to find new ways to annoy the teachers.

When Grace got up that morning she thought it was going to be like any other. Same people, same boring routine. Boy was she wrong.
