her symbol is a chrysanthemum because, firstly, her grandma, the only real female familial figure in her life, has an entire garden of chrysanthemums. she actually tried to convince kiko’s father to name her “kiku” (japanese for “chrysanthemum”), but her father wanted to give her a name with the ending “ko” (japanese for “child”), so they met in the middle and named her “kiko.”

“kiku” is still a nickname kiko responds to and, since moving away from her grandmother’s town, she misses the chrysanthemums. all these factors together make the chrysanthemum a symbol that kiko deeply identifies with.

why do you want to pasttale?

well, when i first saw pasttale i was like, “holy heck, this looks awesome,” and i went to explore the profile. when i saw that my girls :tm: , fro and yuun, were in charge of the group, i kid you not i almost cried happy mom tears.

from there, i cleared my busy schedule just to apply because MUST BE MOM AND MY GIRLS.

how active are you?

since i’m a curator, i’m usually extremely active. due to testing and personal stuff that’s come up recently, though, i have been able to dedicate as much time to the amino. my average time is usually 500+ weekly minutes.

why did they /want to pasttale?

kiko loves playing the piano and the violin, they’re truly some of the only things she’s naturally gifted at. one day, in her homeroom class, she noticed that akemi had forgotten some papers on her desk as she left, but by the time kiko noticed them, she was already gone. while she didn’t mean to pry, kiko read the papers and realized they were lyrics—on the top margin, akemi merely labeled them, “pasttale lyrics.” overwhelmed with curiosity, she eventually mustered up the courage to ask akemi if she could tell her more about pasttale while she returned her lyrics. upon finding out it was an idol group, kiko asked if she could participate, at least to help with music composition.

what would be their role in pasttale? how can they benefit the group?

as stated prior, kiko is a gifted musician and can compose music for the group.

she’d also be more than willing to compose music for akemi’s lyrics.

how would they interact with akemi and emiko? do they have any past relations with the two?

with akemi, kiko is just a useless lesbian. she gets flustered and stutters and can’t function properly when she knows akemi is watching. she wants to do her best to impress akemi. she’s pessimistic about her chances of ending up with akemi, but she’s already coached herself into being happy for akemi as long as she’s happy, not necessary as long as she ends up with kiko.

with emiko, kiko holds a large amount for respect for her as her upperclassman. when she finds out that she is also vying for akemi’s affections, kiko feels absolutely terrible and offers to stay away from akemi, knowing full-well that emiko was “there first.” she tries to convince her that, even if she ends up as a third wheel, kiko will be happy for emiko and akemi no matter what.

please provide a few paragraphs about their personality, likes, etc.

kiko is musically gifted. having played the piano since she was six and the violin since she was nine, she has always loved producing music. since she was young, she would play classical music for her grandmother since she loved making the old woman happy. she is masterful as piano and almost as talented with the violin.

kiko is the worst when it comes to socialization, she prefers not socializing much because she has a secret talent of turning every conversation awkward or uncomfortable, unless the other party is just extremely good at carrying conversations. though, when someone really peaks her interests—

cough AKEMI cough

—she does her best to socialize and /not/ be awkward about it. it usually backfires but at least she tries.

kiko is also a pretty traditionally “smart” girl—booksmart, at least. she is a jack of all trades when it comes to schoolwork, but she’s especially good at history and science work. history and science are probably some of the only subjects she can hold a decent conversation in without making it awkward.

kiko’s mother sadly died after giving birth to her, her third child as well as her first baby girl, thus kiko was primarily raised by her widowed father, two older brothers, and grandmother.

because kiko’s exposure to feminine culture was very much limited only to her grandmother, she grew to be somewhat boyish. while she secretly liked cute and feminine things, she learned to hide it so she wouldn’t be teased by her brothers. she would often wear loose, baggy, and boyish clothes that hid her figure, thus she easily ed as a boy in most instances.

as explained prior, kiko moved away from her grandmother during the break between first and second year in high school. she transferred into a new school, where she was with akemi in her homeroom class. the teacher assigned for akemi to help kiko our for about the first week of school, within this time, kiko developed very strong feelings for akemi and, to this day, can’t help but become flustered and worked up when she’s around her.

she is literally like two different people with and without her glasses.

without said glasses, she is extremely blind. you cannot stand even 3 feet away from her without her glasses or she won’t be able to facially recognize you.
