I GAVE UP ON BEING SECRETIVE

Here is Bridgette’s design!

Time it took: 14h & 20min

It was a long process, but I’ll try to summarize it! I actually didn’t do them simultaneously but we don’t have that kind of time bro LMFAOOO

I actually started with a not so serious Mannequin. Right side sketch is where I doodled MULTIPLE suit designs, considering features like her heritage and addition of more black and such. I still wish I had added white somewhere, but considering I was inspired by the PV version mainly, this isn’t so bad!

The 3D render was Uni’s request I use my render skills to try recreate them based on the Spiderverse style. I actually didn’t sketch her face UNTIL I painted the head, and I find that fun, cause it wasn’t as hard as I initially thought! The bottom Chibis are also just a mannequin situation. Drew a body base, and once painted, I drew the fits! But as you can see, they don’t exist yet, cause this was the initial doodles.

Once the basic suit design was done, I sketched the final look that would be included in the reference! It was easier from here cause I already had a clear view of what I wanted, just had to keep Bridgette’s features in mind, which I designed separately on my real sketchbook.

THIS is actually when I drew Bridgette’s civilian look separately! I made it fairly simple because it’s a default look. I’m happy to say her extra fits make up for it, but I will continue to work on it later on!

This is when things started coming together, I suppose. Ngl, Bridgette’s sheet came naturally to me, which is a shock, cause Félix is kicking my ass. Both looks had me redo from lineart to sketch a couple times.

If you want to know, Bridgette’s pink dress was made by her. The embroidery in her purple skirt was hand stitched by her! She also crocheted her cardigan. So- there you go! Her smaller necklace with beads is also hand made, and this will come in handy later heheh ;)

The reason I took so long for this reveal when in reality I had it done a couple days ago is simply because I thought I could handle working on the project all at once, but I’m starting to realize I can’t. I need to show, and I burn out, and what not. I get tired so yeah. I am almost done with Félix as well, so there’s those good news for the ones excited. I like to think I made him handsome, but idk.

I really tried giving Bridgette Asian ish features, cause I kept criticizing the show about that, so gotta put money where my mouth is, so yeah! I was inspired by real looks online, mainly Asian street fashion. Not super modern tho cause I wanted her to feel like “a baker’s daughter” and idk why, when I think of that, I think whimsy. Her ladybug hair was 100% inspired by Usagi Tsukino from Sailor Moon, lol! Shameless stealing ig.

Full name: Bridgette Meilin Dupain-Cheng

Age: 17 years old

Major: Fashion student

Alias: Ladybug

Nationality: Chinese/French

Meilin is Bridgette’s Chinese name. Sabine has decided she would have two names to still honor her heritage.

Bridgette has always been a fairly creative and artistic child, so it’s no surprise she is studying in the fashion district.

She carries herself with grace; specially now that she became Ladybug— having taken an interest in acrobatics and ballet because of it.

Despite her initially chaotic personality, she is well organized, and doesn’t have an issue with balancing herself— usually…. With exceptions.
