Episode 55

I had a lot of thoughts about the theme of this episode, but Aizawa really summed it up for me! Those two really are destined to be the greatest heroes, since they’re already inspiring so many people around them. Whether that’s for better or for worse, however, remains to be seen.

1. Todoroki wasted all those Naruto knock-offs like they were nothing. Surprising no one.

2. He completely ignores Inasa, even though he clearly has a history with Todoroki. Surprising no one.

3. The other schools demonstrate just how f****d up they are through their relentless pursuit of U.A. and their underhanded tactics which don’t evoke the images of heroes at all. Surprising no one.

4. Jiro, Arms-guy and Tsui come back and demonstrate just how far their willing to go in order to help their fallen comrade. Surprising me. But not really; the people who have faced death twice now have )or at least, should have) an appreciation for human life and the need to help their friends and teammates over some silly provisional exam that is offered twice every year.

5. Bakugo faces off against a guy who can turn people into Kronenburgs. I mean, GOD that was disgusting! And such an unintended callback to Rick and Morty that I didn’t know I wanted OR needed!

6. Izuku, Uraraka and Sero make battle plans!

7. Aizawa reminds us who the main characters are, and just how much their ion has affected their friends and rivals in the short time they’ve been together. I’d be very surprised if Bakugo doesn’t end up being the #3; his story and growth isn’t nearly as impressive as Bakugo’s will definitely be!
