Now on Wattpad. Literally the whole story so far is up there, I just got out of habit of ing here.
TW: Mild bad language, violence
Word Count: 10567 (excluding Author’ Note ect.)
Time taken: 7 days
Summary: The quarter finals of the new tournament. Don’t worry, no manga spoilers yet.
Author’s Note:
Before things start... I am an omnipotent body that can change the flow of the story if you so much as Go-Gos in my direction, so keep that to yourself. The original characters and base story beats were made by Horikoshi, I’m just relaying things in 1-B and making some changes to spruce things up.
Any correlation between the OCs and something else is a coincidence.
Hopefully you understand this before I piss you off in any way. Let me repeat that. This is my story; I am bored so I wanted to make something for fun, so fuck off if you get annoyed at me because I miss-measured the size of Re:Destro’s nose.
And before I forget, I’m writing this for my friends first so expect a few inside jokes that you won’t get.
So without further ado... I present the fiftieth episode of Shenanigans In 1-B! WOO!

Atsuki lay back in his seat, looking perplexed. The two classes had stuck around and watched all of that day's fights, only to get some mystic bullshit from Kaikiban in the final one. After it finished and they were shown the bracket updating, it was time to go. Atsuki, Tokage and Pony didn't move as they were very comfy.
"I think I might need to call him." Tokage said to them, fingers in Pony's hair.
"Yeah." Atsuki nodded. "That wasn't like him at all. It almost looked like he was enjoying what he was doing to that guy for a moment."
"His eye changed colour." Pony stated, tilting her hooves. The two of them closer to Kai made confused faces.
"It's weird. He can't, and I mean CAN'T, change his eye colour. It's the one thing he can't change about himself." He fuzzled his brow, extremely confused about it.
"Well, we just have to ask him ourselves when he gets back." Tokage hummed to herself, taking her phone out. A message from Kendo had popped up.
'Setsuna? Can we talk about Kaikiban when you get the chance. Something's happened and we need to figure something out.'
"Our illustrious Itsuka's concerned too. I guess actually watching it happen is worse than seeing it on television. Should we be thankful that the camera cut to him throttling that poor guy?"
"Poor guy? Jess says he's an asshole; and I believe her because he pushed Kai to a brink like that. The last time we saw that... well YOU two saw that, I don't it, was when Corvus decided to show up in the forest." Blast put a kiss to Pony's calf and moved her off him.
"Does that mean it's another mental thing then? Will they be okay?" She asked innocently, leaning back into Tokage; now on her lap.
"I didn't even consider that. If it's mental stuff, it could be bad. Well, Mei's not bad, but not even he knows what's knocking around in there." Lizardy put her chin on the other girl's shoulder. "I'm talking to him the moment I get the chance to. He promised to tell me anything, so he better live up to his word."
"He always follows through on his word. So we'll have answers later this week." Atsuki stretched as he got up. "I'm going to raid my stock, Pony, you're free to me. I'm guessing there's a couple of calls you need to do, Tokage-chan."
"Absolutely." Her phone dinged again, this time, a message from her boyfriend.
'I'm probably not going to be able to talk tonight, Liz. I have something to sort out. Love you x'
'Can Itsuka help you with it?'
'No. It's something I need to begin alone. I'll tell you about it when we get back on Wednesday.'
''K. Kept Little Godzillo alive in your absence with Rin'
'Thank you. Sleep well.'
'Night Kai.'
Tokage herself breathed out and melted into the sofa. She was also pleased about Komori and Yaoyorozu making it though as well, and slightly sad that Itsuka was brutalised like she was.

Kaikiban was laying in his bed. Almost every one else was hanging out in the hotel's common area or their shared lounge. Onikage was meditating on his own bed and Lorde was high as shit in a corner. The events that had happened earlier that evening played through his head again as he prepared for a conversation.
^Hey, blue thing in my brain. Are you there?^ He thought out to it.
^I always am, Kaikiban.^ Came the two-toned voice.
^That has some uncomfortable implications.^
^Only in spirit, and through my Quirk. I have had no bearing on either of you, until today.^
^That's... a little bit more reassuring. I guess. But your Quirk? As far as I'm aware, you are the Quirk.^
^Shall we talk about this, face-to-face?^
^You have a face?^
^Come. Dream and I shall welcome you into my quarters.^ The newcomer requested, and wanting answers, Kaikiban agreed. After fully encasing himself in a shell, he quickly fell asleep.
An office space greeted him, and a smiling Mei sat at the table.
"Good news, Kai. Things are calming down now. Whatever that thing is, it's helping us somewhat."
"That's... good. But what about the mental stress of our flashback? Understanding what went on that night needs full knowledge of what happened."
"Well, Mum can fill in the gaps. I... I haven't had much time with her since I've been back... I... I really miss her, Kaikiban."
"I know. Whatever I might say about it, I miss her too. And Dad. But we can't. Not easily. Dad's at whatever prison, and Mum's been relocated apparently." He hugged her in their mental space. "I have somewhere to go."
"That thing's waiting. I hear your conversations too, we're all roomies here." She went back to things at her desk.
"Indeed. Now then. Time to dive. Wish me luck." Kaikiban began to feel out for 'Relinquish', as that's where the entity resided.
"I'll be listening." He found it and delved into the white glow. It was much easier this time, a path had already been laid for him and a hole into the core was open from the last time he was there. The blue light began to emit from within.
"Welcome back, Kaikiban." Was the greeting.
"Yeah, hi. What is it you wanted to see me for? I was going to come later, but you just made things easier for me." Kaikiban asked whatever it was in there with him.
"Straight to the point, I see. I welcome that too. What would you like to know?"
"First of all, what the Hell are you? You existed this entire time and never decided to make yourself known?" He demanded the answer, floating in the space.
"I am... unnamed, merely the consciousness that the soul within Adaptation formed. As such, I have complete access to everything it offers. Namely, the complete library of biological materials and the unrestricted usage of it." 'Unnamed' informed him.
"I'm sorry, what? The soul within Adaptation?"
"As I understand it, every Quirk harbours a piece of a person's soul. I am the embodiment of that for mine."
"I'm more of the owner of the Quirk than you. You are the Quirk."
"Explain to me the difference."
"Does a pencil own itself?" There was an extended silence.
"...I see. But then you are one of two owners. Shall I tell you something more? I split you apart when Kakumeiso seemed to be on the edge of a mental collapse. This was a permanent measure. And I sealed away the majority of your emotions to prevent it from happening again. But now, here you are completed." This bombshell news left Kaikiban speechless.
"Was that the only time you appeared?" Was what he managed.
"Yes. Well, not now. But formerly, yes. I thank you for the eye, also. The world is not how I envisioned it. I expected... more greenery."
"You'll see more when we leave the event. And were you conscious while you were trapped in here?"
"I am not trapped, nor never was. I exist a part of both body and soul. Every cell that is you, and Kakumeiso, is also me. I know what I am, and need nothing more. Do you know who you are?" The resonating voice spoke out to him, presenting the question he dreaded to answer.
"I..."
"No answer is required. It is just food for thought. Are we quite done here? I like my isolation to be... peaceful. Emotions like yours... are not."
"Yeah, I've got some answers. And even more questions, but you're not going anywhere. So I'll be back later. Or maybe Mei will be."
"I bid you farewell, for now, Kaikiban."
"Bye... Lucoa?"
"A name? How generous. I have nothing of offer to return the favour." 'Lucoa' itted.
"You've given me enough." Were the last word Kaikiban said in that plain, returning to the office space. It was then that he noticed Mei's heterochromia. "Hey, your eye changed."
"Uh, yeah, it did." She looked to him properly. "It seems like we both had our right eye taken. It's fine to see out of, but they also have access to vision through it."
"I gave them a name now. Lucoa."
"Really? Sure. I thought we'd keep the multi-syllable 'K' names." Mei smirked teasingly, the space turned into a cafe and they sat opposite each other; coffees in hand.
"Kaikumeiban?" She giggled at that.
"Kakiso?"
"That sounds like an actual name." He smirked. "We could just rename it. It's only been what? Two minutes?"
"Two hours. We're asleep." Mei blew on her coffee, apparently things that were hot in the dream world, were actually hot.
"Huh."

Whilst Genyu snoozed off in his room, Kinoko wanted air. She believed herself to have done a lacklustre job in her rounds, relying on Juuigen to get them through. The night sky sparkled over the dimly lit grass and she stopped. Going into the quarter, and hopefully, semi-finals, she couldn't be complacent with her efforts. The Prince's encouragement whirled through her head, he believed in her for whatever reason.
Touching the floor, she put her mind to the people she held dear to her. Her family, friends and the knowledge on everything mushroom related she knew. Controlling the spores was her top priority, placing a mushroom wherever she needed would be extremely beneficial. Further control once the mushrooms had already grown came next. As did mushrooms growing on other mushrooms. Releasing spores from her body, she concentrated. Kinoko tried to connect to any one of them, failing each time. A bed of fungi spread up around her and she opened her eyes with a sigh.
"Training?" Came a casual voice. Turning with a start, Kinoko met eyes with a floating Juuigen.
"Y-I-A uh... yes." She sank her head as he dropped beside her.
"It's good that you're making an effort to improve. Is it going well?"
"I just started. And no. I can't do it." The guy took a seat in the mushrooms with her.
"You're stressing too much about it. You won't magically get stronger because you want to. You will, when you need to. I'm just running you through what you should do once you get to that point. Just slow down with things, they'll come to you." He put a ive hand to her shoulder. "I don't put trust and belief in many people, but you've got a potential that I can't ignore. Don't worry about things, and if trying to control an entire colony at the beginning is not going anywhere, just go for one spore. And once you achieve that, try more. Just don't stress about it, and if you're worried about the rounds, I'm here to keep you two safe." A goofy smile was sent her way, she couldn't help but feel better from it. Who knew royalty could offer such good advice. She probably wasn't the first he'd offered it to.
"Okay!" I'll try my best!"
"That's all we can do. Do you have any singular person to think about?"
"Not really."
"A parent?"
"I love them equally."
"Sibling?"
"None."
"Boyfriend?" Someone flashed in her mind briefly, he wasn't someone she felt too much romantic feeling towards, but he was still dear to her.
"Not a boyfriend."
"Then just think of me, I believe in you. And if you have just one person believing in you, isn't that enough?" Juuigen finished off his sound advice.
"Stop if," she giggled "I might get the wrong idea from you."
"That I want you as a partner?" He laughed. "Not at all. If not for the rule excluding relationships at Shiketsu, then for the fact that I'm likely to be expected to marry someone of nobility. Unless you're of such status?"
"No."
"Then don't worry yourself over untruths. Just... be you; at the end of the day." He got up, some mushrooms growing on him. "Now, on your guard." He got down to business, floating off the ground slightly. "Put my advice to use."
"I will, your Imperial Majesty." Kinoko stood off against him with a bright smile.

The next day came around and Kai was stood in front of a mirror, checking out the blue iris that had now taken its place. His deal with Lucoa probably wasn't the best of ideas in hindsight, what did he get? A direct link to a power he used sparingly? What did they get? His fucking eye and access to the outside world.
It was a pretty sweet deal actually.
Midday had come around, and they were to engage in bloody combat once more at seven. The quarter and semi-finals would happen, then at lunchtime the day after, would be the finals. He'd hopefully be home in time for dinner. Deciding to leave his eye alone for the time being, he decided to go for a shorter hair-do. Steaming it down to be shaggy around his ears, taking inspiration from Shihai. People were probably intermingling in the Common Room, but unless he swapped with Mei, there was no way he would go down to a place with so many people voluntarily. And it was semi-cold anywhere but the U.A. lounge.
Getting back to his bed, he flopped down and evaporated a hole in his self-made shirt and then evaporated the flesh in front of his stomach compartment. Taking his travel notebook out of it.
"Yo, what the fuck?" A spectral bird thing said as it popped out of Tokoyami.
"Don't worry about it." Kaikiban waved off the concern and found his bedside pen. Flicking through the book, he had copies of his most vital parts of his utility set. Bones types and structure, muscle cartilage, eel organs, cow stomachs, eyes, and numerous other things that could come in handy at some point. It saved him having to too many things if he had it on him at all time. Checking out the eye section of it, it was a hand drawn diagram of the human eye. Expertly traced by him. There were other detailed diagrams of eyes in case he ever needed another one, such as when he used his infra-red one.
^Why do you need such a complex method of remembrance for Adaptation?^ Lucoa asked.
^Because I can't everything at once.^ Was his excuse.
^You accepted the offer for unrestricted use of my Quirk, and yet you stay to the methods you put in place?^
^Don't sound ungrateful. I gave you my eye in return.^
^That you did. And I must say, there are some interesting looking individuals. That one, with the bird head, the skeleton, that lion. Does any of those options sound reasonable to change to?^ The new voice asked, emotion wasn't something that showed through with it.
^No. I'm fine the way I am.^ He closed the book and put it back in his stomach for a later time, the hole filling in.
^I could create a pod for that if necessary.^
^No thank you.^
^What are you two nattering on about? Can't a girl get her beauty sleep?^ Kakumeiso's voice ed in.
^It's nothing.^ Kaikiban stated to the pair of his mental tag-alongs.
^Can we go find 'Suki-babe?^ She asked, Lucoa seemed to have vanished for the time being.
^Itsuka? Sure. I like her company.^ He set off out of the room and began to track her like a bloodhound, she always had the scent of black coffee around her. They were alike, in drinking too much caffeine everyday. It led him down near to the lobby, and Kaikiban saw her, sensing that Mei was about to blow up his stomach in an attempt to break free and see her friend; he got closer to her. Other voices were there and it turned out that there were quite a few others gathered around. Apparently, there was a news report thing going on. "What's going on here." Proteus came up beside Itsuka.
"Journalism." She deadpanned, not so discreetly glancing at his new eye.
"Ah. I hate journalists. Can't breathe after fighting a Villain without that being recorded."
"I know what you mean. I did one commercial, one! And that was all it took for me to become some idol."
"I'll bet Komori-chan's jealous."
"You have no idea. She asks for tips all the time. How to walk, how to do her hair, if I can get her in touch with people. You know, model things."
"She should ask Atsuki. He actually is a model now, along with the rest of his work study gang." They laughed a bit.
"Can I ask you something?" She knew she didn't need his permission, it was just to let him know to shut up. "Are you okay? Your eye."
"It's complicated, and a press meeting isn't the place to talk about it. So don't worry, Itsuka. You'll be the second or third person to find out everything."
"Not first?" Battle Fist didn't sound very impressed.
"I imagine Setsuna and Atsuki are going to want some answers. Like, the moment I'm through that door." He elaborated. Her features became less annoyed at hearing that.
"Yeah. As long as you tell me, alright?"
"I will sometime. You're President Kendo-sama after all." She sighed, somewhat irritated. "Are you waiting to speak?"
"Way ahead of you, already had mine. How about you do yours?"
"No." Itsuka smirked at him before patting him on his arm as she left.
^Happy we found her?^
^Follow her! Or find Kinoko-sweetie!^ Mei demanded.
"You're rabid for our lady friends." He muttered turning away from the reporting stuff and about to leave.
"Ah! Genyu-san! Is that you?" Came a vaguely familiar voice, getting him to turn. The blue skinned journalists that wanted his attention gained it in full.
"Kidzuki-sama. It's been too long." A split decision was made in his mind. He could get an answer to something he was thinking about.
"Indeed it has! I tried to get a chance to talk to you after the numerous incidents you've found yourself in, but to no avail. That short boy, Grape Juice, always seemed to be the first there. And by the time I'm done, you're gone!" The woman seemed to lament. Mineta swooning over her made Kakumeiso laugh in his head.
"Well, that's just what he's like."
"I see. But I'll say it again, you're a notoriously difficult man to find."
"I should think my mother would be partly responsible for that. She can be quite protective I think." Something changed in the reporter's demeanour. He'd hit something.
"I wouldn't know, I haven't met her. But now, do you have time to answer a few questions?"
"Sure. Publicity is publicity, I've got to keep my fifteen year old fangirls ticking over." He laughed at that, it was truly an odd sensation to feel full emotions like that. Kidzuki produced a pen and pad.
"First of all, what is it like, fighting on the big screen again?"
"Honestly, I forgot that this is being televised. There aren't any obvious camera. To me, it's just another tournament to win."
"That must be something to live up to, after all, you won last years U.A. First Year's Sports Festival."
"I try my best."
"That is what we can ask for. Have you devised any strategies for your fight?"
"No fire. It would only benefit them."
"I see! But fire? Can you elaborate on how you can make it?"
"Well... I can create biological matter. So I just... make a miniature amalgamation of eel organs and cow stomachs to produce methane with steam, and the eel parts set off the volatile gas with a spark."
"That is very interesting! And, because we have been running low on time with everyone else to interview, do you have any words to your fans?"
"I have fans? Uh... stay in school and don't do drugs. The first Villain I caught did marijuana, the smell gave it away." Was what he settled on. Something basic. The woman nodded, seemingly satisfied.
"Thank you so much, Genyu-san! I'm not supposed to show bias, but I'm routing for you!"
"Then I thank you, Auntie Chitose. Take care!" He turned and left. Kidzuki stood watching him go. One word going through her head.
^Shit. Shit shit shit shit shit shit!^ Taking her phone out of her coat pocket, she quickly left the building, holding a hand up to her crew to let her be for a minute. Putting the device to her ear, the tone beeped twice before being picked up.
"Chitose? This is unexpected. You're meant to be working. What is it?" The woman on the other end asked, concern evident.
"Oetari, he knows. Kaikiban, he re something at least." She said quickly. There was a noise on the other end, probably her getting up.
"What...?"
"He said a couple of things, as if he knew! He referred to me as 'Auntie Chitose' for Destro's sake!"
"I see. I'll be sure to ask when I see him next. I had a feeling though, I watched his performance last night. The blue eye's gotten me concerned myself."
"Okay... Okay. I just had to tell you. That's all. I've kept to my word, only talking to them for professional reasons."
"Don't worry, Chitose. I wasn't going to kill you. You're family to me." Oetari attempted to sooth her. "Is there anything else? Tea requests?"
"Cylon please." Kidzuki asked after a moment's deliberation.
"Absolutely. I'll get it myself."
"Alright then. Take care."
"And you." The women hung up.

Seven in the evening happened and everyone was back in the stands. Except for Komori's team and Housei's team. It was their turn to fight. The ground began to shift again as Pixie-Bob changed it up. Cracks formed into the floor and ravines and sinkholes popped up all over the place; bridges connecting the segmented ground were also formed.
The seats they'd chosen the previous evening were their permanent ones apparently, as Big Sis Hado and Intelli were either side of him again. They'd eaten an hour before, but it wasn't enough to make him full, so Kaikiban had made a snack. Hado saw this and poked him in the arm.
"Hey, what'cha got there?" She leaned into him to look.
"Oh this? It's called onigiri." He motioned it up to show her as he looked at her.
"I know what it is." She put an arm on his and almost poked him in the eye. "Dies it hurt?"
"It doesn't."
"Cool. And where'd you get that onigiri anyway?"
"Well... it's an easy to carry food. Not that I need to eat food I've discovered. Digesting food is how we eat, right? So I can grow things in my stomach to eat whenever. But eating normally makes things all the more meaningful to me. I fight, get hurt, I heal, I fight some more. Sometimes my life becomes an endless loop. But looking around I'm reminded. We're all human, wounds should stick. If I lose the sense of my humanity, I wouldn't be me anymore. I would just be something in the shape of me. I'd look like Kaikiban, but on the inside I'd be no different to a Nomu. What's the point of living like that? I had no emotions, back before I ed U.A.. Mum always made these things at home; I never took the recipe. I guess... it helps with nostalgia. It was a simpler time, but I made some good friends that I shouldn't let myself forget. Mine doesn't taste that great, but eating it reminds me of why I fight now. So, I guess you could say it helps me stay me. It's been an important companion in my life, something I forgot about after becoming Proteus." He went into a tangent completely unrelated to what Hado had asked.
"That's cool, but where did you get it?" She asked again.
"I made it just now." He shrugged. The first fight of the Quarter-Finals was about to begin, so they gave it their undivided attention.

The new layout of the battlefield presented advantageous benefits for Natama and Andy. By once more sending themselves on a two person missions for total dominance, they could put their necks out onto the line without risking a loss. Andy was carrying her across a bridge towards where they were able to deduce Juuigen's team to. Gun arms rotating at the ready, Natama looked around.
"Are we sure that they're this way? We should be able to see them."
"IT IS WHERE THEY ARE MOST LIKELY TO GO. AND OUR SPLITTING OFF FROM THE ROCK ALLOWS US TO ATTACK FREELY."
"I know, but really? Would they stay in the same place a third time?"
"YES. THEY WON BY STANDING STILL, SO WE SHOULD MOVE THEM." Andy came to his conclusion quite easily. Getting around a sinkhole, she spotted something. A patch of mushrooms had gathered nearby, and some more in another location. Away from them, the mushrooms clumped together densely, as if an explosion of sorts sent them flying out from an epicentre. "I HAVE MOVEMENT, TEN O'CLOCK." Both guns aimed that way and fired relentlessly. A barrel came flying towards them, blocking the bullets.
He punched through it, but noticed that mushrooms had taken root on his metallic arm and the entirety of his left side. Another came shortly after, and another. It seemed that they'd walked into perfect firing range for a three-way combined assault.
"Going to switch to 'kill' for a second." She informed him, getting a nod. Her arms spun at high speeds and a torrent of bullets were let loose, busting through the barrels easily. "Any more?"
"NEGATIVE. ADDITIONALLY, DO NOT BREATHE TOO DEEPLY, SPORES ARE FLOATING DOWN." Andy advised caution.
"Got it." Nat covered her mouth and nose with a hand. The large, robotic guy narrowed his eyes as someone was spotted.
"I HAVE EYES." He announced, his chest opening slots in it and six small missiles shot out. The oncoming adversary smiled and the locked on projectiles swerved away and into the floor around him. "FUCK."
"Language!" She switched back to 'stun' and shot off bursts from both arms. The target redirected gravity with a casual wave of his hand.
"WE SHOULD RETREAT."
"Good idea." At that, Andy began to run backwards at full speed, turning shortly after in a full pelt away.
"Cute." Juuigen watched the two U.A. students retreat. Putting a hand to the floor, he pulsed out a strong gravitational wave. The floor around him cracked and burst outward in a shockwave. Natama and Andy were caught in the giant AoE attack. The younger girl was wrapped into the older boy's arms for protection as they were hit. "But cuteness is tarnished by war." Striding towards them, he sucked the dust up with a black orb to reveal Andy protecting the injured Natama. A cut had opened on her head and she was struggling to move. He looked down to her and blinked once.
"you. how could you. you struck down a young girl. for what? a shot at winning a stupid tournament? Despicable. Utterly Despicable. To Think That I Would Have The Honour Of Fighting A VILLAIN AT A PLACE LIKE THIS? YAAAAAAAHH!" Between blinks, Andy was on his feet charging Juuigen down, a smokey substance jetted around him to conceal his next move.
"Oh?" A smirk plastered the other guy's lips. A very fast fist was thrown through the smoke, catching him slightly off-guard. He managed to push the attack aside, it grazed his cheek ever so slightly and the small blades along the side of the robot's hand revealed themselves; causing a cut. "Oh." To retaliate, Juuigen balled his fist and concentrated gravity. His own fast punch landed forwards into Andy's centre, launching him back with the heightened gravity release on impact. Skidding to a halt, more missiles were fired and all of them missed. The explosions were halted from expanding and forced together into a ball. The Prince 'threw' it forward with a spin and it collided with the other third year's chest; exploding in his direction.
"BAM BAM ROCKET!" Was the response, two flying fist came soaring through the smoke and flew past the spacial warp that begun to surround Juuigen's front. "DETONATE." The fists exploded behind him, causing him to cough. Through the smoke and flames, Andy emerged at an low angle, a new, rapidly rotating left fist at the ready. A white light emitted from it as his Quirk's energy centred there. "JUSTICE IS SERVED." ^AN ALL OR NOTHING STRIKE.^ His shoulder t rotated at an incredible speed and the punch was loosed upwards, aiming for just above the solar plexus. It made and continued upwards and into the chin.
The recipient was lifted off his feet and sent backwards, stopping and righting himself before landing.
"IMPOSSIBLE."
"Not bad. I barely squished space in time. That took a lot out of me too, so I'll finish this quick." Juuigen rubbed his chin. A shot sounded and something shot him in the shoulder. Natama was back on her feet with all fingers as gun barrels.
"Hann. Don't do it alone." She huffed, blood matting her hair.
"Yes yes. Mock my solitude." Shifting his feet, Juuigen sent another shockwave out, at a shorter diameter to only catch them in it. "Now then, where's their rock?"
Komori and Goro, Marcel, peeked over the top of the sinkhole that had become their new spot to protect. Juuigen had just shrugged off a deadly looking punch and returned with a devastating shockwave. Natama and Andy were both down for the count and their team leader looked around before flying away.
"I feel sorry for them." She muttered.
"So do I. It makes me glad that he's on our side." Goro nodded, taking his glasses off and squinted. "It still looks just as bad."
"So we just stay here until we win? Or until Juuigen does... whatever?"
"That's essentially the same thing."
"Yeah, I guess it is." Some rapid steps approached, as did huffing. The pair turned to see the beetle member of the opposing team clambering in with his rock, panic evident on his expression.
"Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. Dee-senpai! Housei-chan! What do I do?! Do I fight? Yes. I have to. But there are three of them, and one of them is that monster. And that short girl, she's dangerous! Mushrooms are no joke! Barrels? I don't know but it's probably not." He breathed quickly and dramatically to calm himself, the other two going unnoticed; they looked between themselves. The barrel of a cannon formed in Goro's arms.
"This is what a barrel can do." He stated, pointing the dangerous end towards him. A shriek of surprise and shock was received as a buckshot of tiny barrels pelted him and destroyed the rock. "^Yargh hargh.^"
"And the winners have been decided!" Pork stated.

Tenya Iida was overlooking the cracked terrain with animosity. It didn't look too favourable for their team composition.
"Let's go, fellers!" Groovy said with enormous swagger. "Three in a row? Or is that no way to go?" Flytrap 'hmmed'.
"Your Quirk works if they're off guard, but they'll be on guard to cross the gaps. So luring might work again."
"But that depends if we can find a place where we aren't out in the open." Iida stated while adjusting his glasses.
"Certainly. The sinkholes dotting this place will most certainly help. We should also separate ourselves from the objective this time too." Trap followed. They reached one such sinkhole and lifted the rock down into it, before leaving to find another hole to set up in. "I trust that my face is not going to be seared off?"
"You trust well." He nodded.
"I'll hide somewhere else, so they don't see me coming!" Groovy informed them, going to hide in a nearby shallow crevasse.
"YOUR STARTING TIME IS UP!" Present Mic screamed, the further they were in the bracket, the more excitable he seemed. "BEGIN!" Flytrap immediately put his mouth to Tenya's exposed calf exhausts and released his 'Scent Boon' Quirk into them. The propulsion sent the smell skywards and out of the hole.
"I'm getting some in my face." Groovy coughed.
"Apologies." Iida stated. A minute ed, and voices reached their ears. Once more, another group of unsuspecting fools were lured to their hole. At seeing them peek over the edge, Groovy emerged from his crack.
"I like to move it move it. I like to move it move it. I like to move it move it. I like to... move it!" He crouched down and started doing a low can-can. The catchiness of the opening lyrics and his mesmerising movement caught the three in a whirlwind of confusion, the perfect results where it only leaves on option the brain can think of. Dancing.
That is how the Quirk 'Groove' works. A dangerous one indeed. Especially when combined with another Quirk that lowers the sense of awareness in others. Like 'Scent Boon'.
Iida flipped over at seeing the dancing. Going all out with his Quirk, he rocketed out of the sinkhole and spun repeatedly in the air. Straightening his leg out, he kicked all three opponents in a row, sending them sprawling. They didn't get back up too quickly.
"I will go and find their rock!" He immediately followed the action by bolting after the footstep trail. Once more, the rock was left unattended somewhere. It got smashed.
"And it seems like strategies will not change if people keep falling for them. Won't someone try and fix things?" Pork lamented loudly into the microphone.
"Who's side are you on?" Present Mic asked in retaliation.

*While the match happened...*
Jessica had left the stands to make a call. Phones weren't allowed to be taken into the fight, but they were allowed elsewhere. Atsuki had texted her good luck, as did Sophie and her parents. It meant a lot to her. The one person she really wanted it from, however, hadn't. So it made sense to call her.
"Hello?"
"Konura, hi." She opened with once her friend picked up.
"Oh, hey, Jess! Don't you have a fight?" Was the response, her usually stern tone was instantly soothed.
"It shouldn't be too long now. Are you busy?"
"A little, homework. You know. The usual." A sigh was made on both ends. "Nervous?"
"I am."
"You're going against Kaizou-senpai, Jess, I don't need to warn you."
"I know. Do you think you could watch it? It would morally help if I knew you were watching me." Jessie explained, her voice wavered a tiny bit. It eluded her as to why. It wasn't like she didn't know what Konura looked like naked, or that they'd snuggled with each other on 'cold' nights.
"I'll get Moroshi off the console then." There was the audible sound of Konura getting up. "Best of luck, Jessica."
"Thank you, 'Nura. I... I look forward to seeing you tomorrow."
"Me too. Tell me all about it?"
"I will. Love you..." she trailed off, that topic was something they'd skirted about a bit. How they really felt about each other.
"Jess, I... love you too." Came the response. Now the question was whether it was platonic or romantic for her. They ended the call.
"I must say... were you actually telling me the truth over your friend?" Came a remorseless voice. Turning with a mild amount of annoyance, Jessica met eyes with Kaizou.
"Yes. She is my friend. Nothing more." She defended herself from the baneful ire of her elder.
"It doesn't sound like it. Unless you were being platonic. If not though... you know the consequences of following through on those feelings."
"I am aware of them. Moroshi gets them all the time."
"It would be worse for you. As a Class President, you set a precedent for the others to follow. If you step out of line like that, it would not be good. You'd be stripped of your position, ridiculed by your peers, sentenced to an unknown amount of detentions and the like. Do you want to risk that, Kouhei-outsider?" Kaizou continued.
"You really make me feel welcome with the 'outsider' bit."
"I'm not trying to. As my own woman, I couldn't care less about what you do. But as a Class President and Queen of Shiketsu West, I have to make sure that the rules are followed."
"And Moroshi? He gets away with it."
"He does not. And my worry is that people will follow an example. No-one will follow his." The tension between them was palpable, being cut once the overlay came on signalling the end of the round.
"I'll see you on the pitch." Jessica grumbled, her temper had been stoked by the unneeded berating.
"I hope to see you at your best." Kaizou left, seemingly only there to taunt her.
"Was that completely necessary?" The elegant voice of Nyx as well as her physical form appeared while the third year moved to where she and her team would be descending.
"Physiological warfare is one part of a battle. If Kouhei-chan's not in a perfect mental space, she won't be working at her full capacity." Was the reason.
"But mocking her over her love life? That's quite the low blow, Lady Maki." The apparition put a hand to her chin as she spoke, hovering above the ground.
"Precisely. It's the same with Genyu-kun's brother. Knock him off guard so it's an easier win. However, Shishikura-kun seems to have tilted him over the edge and awakened something within him. I have no doubt that that's why we're up against next, so I'll be using everything I have to put him down." The girl deliberated with herself on that.
"Or we could focus down Hado-san with Roku-san? Allow Amajiki-san to work alone?"
"We'll see what happens and go from there."
/-/
The two teams were on the fractured battleground within their planning phase. Jessie was just holding her hands out and drawing air towards her.
"These guys are tough. The toughest yet." Lion stated, getting a nod from Snake.
"Not only are we fighting Amajiki-senpai, but also Roku Roku. This can't go well." He responded, looking around, specifically up.
"No. Kaizou-senpai's the biggest problem. Two Quirks, one Emitter Type and one Transformation Type." Jess told them, draining the air of electrons. "And she's gunning for me."
"Can we trust you to take her on?" Lion cocked his head.
"I can slow her down. Truth be told, I think this is where we lose. But we won't go down without a fight."
"Then let's give them a fight they won't forget." Snake cracked his knuckles with a chuckle. A mouth opened on the backs of his hands.
"THE THIRD MATCH OF THE QUARTER FINALS, BEGINS NOW!" Present Mic yelled at them.
"No falling third year? That's new."
"Then be more-so on guard." Jessica got up and scoured the scene. "Perhaps they're coming from underground?" Lion perked up at something.
"Cover your ears!" He demanded, pushing the rock away.
"LEEEETTTT'SSSS PLLAAAAAYYY!" Came a ear rendering scream.
"THAT'S PRESENT MIC'S QUIRK!" Snake managed to yell over the top of it, whilst they covered their ears and moved out of it. A loud ringing remained in their ears.
"Lightning is faster than sound." She muttered to herself, forming and spear in her hand and threw it. With the low travel time of her Quirk she most likely hit the mark. She must have done, as the projectile came right back at her. Absorbing it into herself, Jessica thanked her foresight for making it quite weak just in case Roku copied it, which he apparently had.
"Move!" Lion instructed them, picking up the rock and hauling ass. The other two followed suit just as the cone of sound again attacked.
"Sticking to a long ranged plan?" Snake hissed. "Amajiki-senpai is a close range combatant."
"Perhaps this is only a front. , Roku-senpai attacked alone in his previous two fights." She called, not needing to be as loud now.
"Which means the other two are uned for." Big Kitty muttered, happening to look up, Jessica widened her eyes.
"Spire Of Sparks!" Dragging her hand across the floor, creating a grounding point, she followed up with a skywards swipe. A pillar of electricity rocketed skywards towards two incoming people. It impacted with the darker one, the other dove at them.
"Acid Retch!" Snake pointed a mouth hand at him and seemed to vomit out stomach acid. Amajiki spun in the air and landed away from them, a pair of wings extended from his back. "Lemme at him!" Moving quickly his way, a large tentacles struck into him, getting seemingly chew off.
"Not this again..." The Big Three member muttered, flying back.
"I shall find Roku-senpai!" Lion told them, running with the rock. Jessie could only hope that he was going to put it somewhere safe first. The dark, flying individual stopped for a second, before bolting directly at the floor. A shield of lightning protected her from the attack. Kaizou had both hands on the barrier and a dark shockwave echoed through the air. The upper-half of her face was dark green and black wisps were dancing off her.
The shield cracked slightly; the strain of fending off the dive-bomb had not ceased, the attack was continuing as the darkness wielder was jetting the stuff out of her feet as a propellant.
^Flicker.^ Kouhei thought, her body became one with the lightning for a split second. In that window, she managed to fly up and behind Kaizou; hand outstretched. ^Fulgur Shot.^ A shot of electrical energy was fired into the still airborne third year. Reacting with impressive speed she blocked it with a pawed hand. Returning the jump, the girls clashed midair. Curling her feet in, Kaizou kicked Jessica away with power, sending her away through the air. Activating her static aura, she stabilised herself. Multiple balls of energy trailed off her and shot out projectiles. Weaving through them, none seemed to even if they made . A paw swipe sent out a blade of darkness, easily blocked. A second swipe was 'Flicker'ed over and Kouhei sent a strong, Quirk filled kick into her. Bringing a hand up, a lightning bolt followed to where she swiped down to. A cloud of dust struck up from the impact.
"Deep Soul Barrage!" Maki retaliated. The cloud burst apart as dozens of trailing egg shaped bolts we sent her way.
^Flicker Dance.^ Jess dodged away perpendicular to the first load of shots, soon realising that Kaizou had eyes and adjusted her aim every flicker. Seeing that trying to escape would cost more electrons, she stopped and flicked around the same space between the attack going further out when needed.
^Right into place.^ Dark Girl stopped shooting, the darkness above Kouhei gathered together into a cylinder and trapped her inside. The cylinder let out a dark pulse upwards.
Roku was fighting against Lion with ease, the physical attacks could be hardened through and a retaliation consisted of a white aura clone of his fist around his hands and punching. That had been an annoying move to copy, the first year kept sending his tome flying with his spinning fists.A dark beam caught his eye and he backed away, the page flipped quickly to the needed one.
"Navel Laser!" He shot a laser from his hand point blank at Lion, who got out of the way before the attack even came out. A fist found its way to his face, but his ground was stood.
"That seemed a bit pointless." Came the statement.
"You know what happens when you open a book?" Roku responded, tilting the tome to display the current pages. "There are two pages per set." The distinctive sparkly beam was portrayed as a thick sparkly line and symbols on the left page. The right held a cross-hair and similar symbols. "I wasn't aiming for you." Realisation came over the face of his opponent as he realised what'd been done. The laser curved upwards from where it was and snaked itself back towards the ground and aimed at the pillar. It struck into it, sending Jessica along with it across the floor.
"Flicker!" She hissed to herself, escaping from the hold it had on her. The defensive aura had held its own well enough to prevent her from being massacred. Something swooshed past her. Kaizou managed a hold onto one of her legs and it was her turn to be slammed into the floor. Being thrown from two meters up wasn't too bad, what came next was worse. A dark green, paw shaped fist went black and punched a blast of darkness into her. The aura held still, u a fair bit of her reserves. ^This is bad. They coordinated an attack that strong in seconds. I need to forego caution and go all out.^ The aura around her body glowed brighter and enveloped her clothes, forming a crackling set of armour. "Electrical Recycle." The remaining spire fizzled into a ball and zipped into her, regaining some of her stock. "Shiketsu Technique: Emitter Zone: Crackle." A pulse of electricity surrounded her and 'Flicker' was used again, and a shoulder bash met with a punch. The two ladies were sent away from each other. The movement option was used again and Jessie was behind Kaizou in no time. A laser almost blindsided them, but they dodged in time. It curved around for a second attack, but also missed.
"Looked like you needed some help." Roku said, casually floating towards them.
"Does it look that way." His ally got to him.
"Eh, kinda." He shrugged. Between blinks, Kouhei was above him and rained charged punches it him. Readjusting herself, she kicked him away and a solid rope of lightning held him to her. Swinging down, Roku was hammered into the floor.
"No interrupting." Was what she said. Kaizou used a blast of darkness to put a lot of distance between them. ^Kaizou's the biggest threat still, so I'm going to take her out now.^ "Kouhei Dragon!" Bringing her arms back and gathering her strongest move together, she pushed forwards.
^Nyx. One-Hundred Percent Pact.^ Maki instructed her Quirk. Her entire body went black. ^Devil One-Hundred Percent,^ she used the full extent of her other to increase her physical prowess, growing wings, a tail and a pair of horns. "Demon Queen." The incoming dragon opened its mouth the bite down on her, getting stopped by her hands holding open its mouth. Slamming the jaws closed the attack detonated uselessly. The sparkles looked pretty as they fluttered down. Balls of dark energy formed in her paws and she loosed them, being dodged and 'Flicker'ed past. Jessica was in her face after that, a blade held over her head.
"AND THAT IS IT FOLKS! TEAM TWENTY EIGHT'S ROCK HAS BEEN DESTROYED! IT WAS ALMOST MISSED AMONGST THE EPIC FIGHT GOING ON!" Mic announced to them.
"Just in time too. You were about to lose." Kaizou said up to her junior. The lightning blade had already slashed down her front. Jessie was staring dead into a black paw. "You weren't dodging this." The yellow slash of lightning along her body fizzled away. "That still hurt. A cut meant to incapacitate, not kill huh?"
"I wasn't fast enough. Who broke it?" Jess lamented, landing on the floor. Lion was sprawled out defeated, as was Snake. Amajiki looked somewhat worse for wear.
"He are everything I made. The cameras aren't helping either. I want to go home." He turned around and looked to the floor.
"I broke it." Roku seemed contented. "They weren't strong. Definitely rode your coattails to this round." Kaizou landed, her skin returned back to being pale and splotched green at the arms.
"You lost, and yet, this doesn't feel like a victory. I was to occupied with you to work as a team enough. Well done." The Queen of Shiketsu West congratulated her. "Maybe I'll be able to overlook one misdeed from anyone. Maybe."
"Really?!" She asked quickly in response, just as quickly collecting herself. "That is nice."
"I'd like to fight again sometime. You weren't bad, stand proud, Kouhei-san." With that emotionless dump, Kaizou led her team back towards the edge of the arena.
"I'm sorry." Lion said, looking to the sky. Two giant hands of electricity came off of her and picked one up in each.
"No, I am. I got tunnel-visioned. I should be the one to apologise." She stated to her defeated comrades, taking them off the field.

Vandham was pacing back and forth while they waited for the lift to ring.
"Up next: a Genyu. Bad news. Strong Opponent. U.A. Big Three. Bad News. Strong Opponent. And a hardening type. That's three checks." He muttered to himself, hand on chin.
"I say we stay together. It's a must if we are to take on Hado-senpai and succeed." Yaoyorozu spoke up, watching him move.
"Until we have a good plan, I'm your best bet at fighting her head on. I have fire, she has energy. It works. I'm sure with a few gadgets, you, Intelli-chan, could take on Katameru-chan. And Yaoyorozu-chan, how confident are you in taking on Genyu-kun?" Vandham asked them.
"There are a few things I believe could lessen the burden of that." Came the ission.
"But, the tea is where it all comes together." The elevator dinged and they swapped places with Kouhei and her team. "Tough luck, President Kouhei-sama." The Shiketsu Boy smirked to her.
"Have fun again Kaikiban and Hado-chan." She returned the gesture.
Planning phase began and Intelli was waiting for the tea to heat up a small bit. The same opening move was used again for this.
"A few more seconds and I'll drink." She told them.
"Just... be careful with your shirt. Whites... stain easily." Yaoyorozu stated nicely, a kind smile was given in return by her as she took up the teapot and began to drink straight from it.
Golden writing met her as she closed her eyes. The process of which they can achieve victory might be a bit different this time.
Hado, a cute powerhouse with a tendency for chatter.
Katameru, a neutral girl with a versatile defence.
Genyu, a crafty brawler with a good balance of attack and defence.
The composition was actually surprisingly well balanced, if they were to play into Katameru's defence, it would prove difficult to get through; unless Rengoku used his 'Emitter Zone'. That would be something she wanted to avoid because a later fight would likely need it more.
Allowing Genyu to set up his numerous tricks on the fly, apparently, from what her snooping with his/her/their whatever it was, it was very good at retaliating. So one shot, one kill would be a must.
That sort of thinking would apply to Hado also, knock her out, they win. It is most likely that they also knew that. If they went aggressive with her, then Intelli's team was as a smooth brain would say, royally fucked.
To attack, they'd send Rengoku in. If he found Hado first, he'd attack, if it was Genyu, he'd attack. Katameru could be dealt with with a few electricity based objects. If Hado was found first, Yaoyorozu was to intercept Genyu and vice versa. She herself was not much of a fighter, the least dangerous would be the best bet for her person. From there, the golden ratio was formed within Intelli's mind.
She opened her eyes and informed them about the plan. The clock was ticking down and they all had binoculars, scouring the land for the enemy. Yaoyorozu was the first to spot them.
"East, guys." She informed, getting them to look that way.
"One, two and three. They're all there." Intelli counted.
"THE FINAL FIGHT OF THE QUARTER FINALS BEGIIIINS... NOW!" Mic yelled.
"Time to go." She stated.
"Time to go." Katameru told them, the shining white light beside her solidified into a catapult. "Are you sure about this?" She looked to Genyu.
"No." He itted, looking carefully at the trajectory, having eyes on the enemy from that range. "Okay, Lucoa or Shura, whichever you prefer, let's test out some of this new power."
"Who're they?" Hado asked cutely.
"Whatever this is." He gestured to his right eye. "I'll explain later."
^Call me either, or both. And yes, those ideas are prepared.^ Lucoa-Shura announced.
"Alright." Genyu backed into the catapult. Hado used her 'Surge' energy to pull back the flexible crystal that made up the elastic.
"Tell me when." There was a reasonable amount of stretch from the mechanism.
"Now." Katamaru told her, following this, he was sent flying through the air shirtless with speed. Wings spread from his shoulder-blades to make him glide.
Aiming his hand down, he decided to try channeling the full force of Adaptation for the first time.
"Trial Biomancy: Writhing Vine Coils." His hands' skin steamed slightly, as the Quirk activated. Shortly after, green vines burst from him and towards the ground. There was less steam than expected, a not so unwelcome outcome. Once the vines hit the floor, some burrowed into it while other began to sprawl out and expand from the impact point. His shoes burnt away unfortunately once he began to jet out steam from his feet, ignited by a spark to form a propelling flame.
"What the heck is that?" Intelli looked at the vines and Genyu flying around.
"An attack?" Vandham cocked his head, flicking a lighter on and getting a hold onto the flame. "Looks like he's the one. Plan B it is." The fire trailed his hand and solidified into four points, coning at a more forward centre and fired out a beam. It missed the flying opponent and he used 'Emitter Zone', centring himself within it, to allow for boost from the fire to catch him up. "Genyu-kun!" He yelled, getting to his face. Fire hardened around his hands into knuckledusters.
"Ah." Came the reply, Vandham was grabbed and forced away by a quickly growing and expanding arm. The floor cracked from the impact. Something was shot over them and a white crystal hit the floor a bit away, narrowly missing Intelli and Yayorozu.
"They're using their catapult!" Yaoyorozu stated the obvious, her bare skin sparkled and cracked continuously as something was made. A sheet of metal was was made, wires on her side. Pressing a button, the sides expanded out to make it bigger. Another crystal rock assaulted them and smashed into the sheet. It dented and cracked both things. Because of their distance and disadvantage due to it, Creati used her Quirk and fashioned a cannon from her side.
"She had a cannon in her vagina?" Vandham exclaimed, happening to look over. A cannonball was shot at the enemy, exploding against an opposing sheet of crystal. They'd reached a stalemate for the time being it seemed, leaving Vandham and Genyu to duke it out.
The two had started a brawl on the floor, between the two artillery bases that had formed. Fists flew at one another and neither were deterred by the impacts. Rengoku got Genyu by the side of the head and took it down to his knew. To retaliate, his arms were gripped and were used to vault and flip up and slam a heel into Vandham's head. To follow, Genyu pulled back and pushed a wave of steam into his face and blew it up. The explosion was captured and fashioned into a whip, slashing Kai across the front multiple times.
^Why did you do that? We know his Quirk!^ Kakumeiso scolded.
^Oops.^ He caught the whip and yanked it, the raw force pulling Vandham his way. A fireball blocked the incoming lariat and separated them. Not letting up, he put his hands to the floor. "Trial Biomancy: Bone Vineyard." In a circle around him, bones rushed along the floor, snapping against the nearby writhing vines behind him. The ones oncoming all blossomed grapes along the sides of them, a solid wall of flame intercepted them; bursting the grapes. A foul stench met his nose from whatever they were filled with. Flowers also flourished along the bones to seemingly just look pretty. "Imitation Series: Shiozaki Todoroki!" A colony of giant, sharp bones came Vandham's way. The pressure that had found him didn't let up at all, not giving him any time to perform any 'Providence' moves. The firewall blocked most of them, one burst through and stabbed into his side. The tip felt hot momentarily and flesh crawled up it, before it took him away with it.
He gained speed until he was sent upwards by the bone tendril. Having set fire to his shirt moments before, that surrounded him to protect from any incoming attacks, of which one came from Hado and Katameru, another catapult attack. The crystal bashed into his shield, a leash of flame attaching to it. Holding onto the leash, Rengoku heaved sideways whilst standing on a floating platform of fire to throw it at Genyu. The flowers in the vineyard showed why they existed, by all being moved by the bones to slow the crystal, acting as a sponge. It hit the floor uselessly.
"Shiketsu Technique: Emitter Zone: Plume! Providence Blaze!" The air around him got more intense with flames licking through the new orb of fire. Within that orb, a second one was above his head. "Providence Buster!" The interior orb lengthened out into a pillar. It did indeed 'bust' through the 'Emmiter Zone' with a swing, attempting to burst through the bones and flowers to hit Genyu. It succeeded, enveloping him in fire.
Escaping a moment later, steam rose from his skin as he healed any burns he sustained. Finding himself in a trap, the floor had been wrapped in flame. Vandham brought a hand up and another pillar burst up and tracked his position as it fell. Missing by a margin, it positioned him below the fire . Falling with style, Genyu was trapped within 'Emitter Zone: Plume'. It was his turn to feel the pressure. There was a modicum of time for a defensive posture to be made, before a flurry of punches met him.
"Oh my..." Yaoyorozu watched on in shock, the brutal fight was something. Two strong opponents fighting like that always was. The orb trapping them gave the people inside an orange hue. Both sides had decided to call a ceasefire until their allies had finished their fight, or moved away; the large handheld sign Intelli had next to her proved it. It had been read even though they were pretty far away.
"This is quite the fight. I cannot tell who has the upper hand." She nodded in understanding. "I can only hope that Rengoku-san knows what he's doing."
Katameru and Hado were sat on crystal stools watching. It was entertaining, though they were slightly worried about Genyu.
"Hopefully Yuyu-onee-chan knows what he's doing." Hado pondered, the ceasefire was definitely liked.
"He doesn't strike me as someone who wouldn't do something like that without a plan, he does have a plan... right?"
"I don't know." She shrugged. "He likes to keep to himself for the most part. It's mysterious and cool!"
"It's annoying."
"Come on, Kaikiban! Show me what you're made of!" Vandham yelled at him, pelting him with punches. Fire inside the orb had formed and shaped into fists, also punching him from all angles. A shell was protecting the victim somewhat, pieces breaking off and regenerating rapidly; the wings had turned the feathers into spongy, moss filled tentacles to help with blocking the back attacks. His feet skidded back from the force and Rengoku saw the opening thread, the shot at a winning blow. A final, flame concentrated fist was loosed. The right fist was caught and an enormous amount of steam was exuded from him, completely dousing the flames. Methane had begun to be added to the steam after the fires died out to prevent an explosion too early.
Genyu looked up and the previously thought victor felt the weight of words he'd been told before arriving at the event.
/-/
"My brother's going to be there tomorrow." Moroshi stated to him, wiping sweat from is brow. They were working out to train their bodies.
"Cool! I hope I'll get to fight him." Vandham responded, curling a weight.
"So do I. I think it would be a good fight. But a word of warning if you do. Kaikiban's a tricky fighter, he'll look for an opening wherever he can find one. Give him it, and you wouldn't realise you'd done so. He'll bust it wide open and take you out. He also has a habit of expending his opponent's resources under the bluff of losing the fight. But don't be too cautious either, he knows how to counter all sorts of different tactics. Stay on guard." Moroshi had stopped smiling as he'd spoken.
/-/
^Oh. This what you meant.^ Vandham thought to himself, being pulled forwards slightly to get him off balance. It also made for a good position for Genyu to ball his left fist. His arm started to glow, as did the skin under his neck and the rest of him.
"Ignis." Was all that was said by Proteus. The fist was brought down into his cheek and punched him into the floor. Even more steam was released. The electrical spark on the fist caused everything to erupt into purple flames, bursting the orb in a dazzling explosion. Vandham was completely knocked out from the attack. The vines seemed to feel this and stretched out quickly, snatching him up.
Whilst that happened, Team Twenty Five had acted faster and lobbed a cluster of crystals at the unaware opponents and bombarded them semi-small rocks. It would definitely hurt. Another cannonball was shot off and hit the crystal wall. The ground cracked beneath Yaoyorozu and Intelli as vines emerged, attempting to capture them as well.
"Trial Biomancy: Bone Vineyard." Genyu reused a previous attack to catch them. The sheet blocked them, but the sides were enveloped; getting them caught. The grapes looked plump when forming, but something was different about them. The true attack was immediately shown. Each grape glowed in a random order and expanded rapidly before exploding into a mixture of purples, greens, blues, reds and yellows. It was fire by the way. The two girl that were blown away by the surrounding attack lay stunned. Another shield looked like it had been formed to block, but it had happened too late to protect them.
Hado flew around for a few seconds and found the rock, blowing it to smithereens with one shot of her Quirk.
"A SPLENDID FIGHT TO BRING THE QUARTER FINALS TO A CLOSE!" Present Mic closed off the round with a scream.
