What Is Going On With Kyle Busch In 2024?-[C]Kyle Busch has been a major talking point during the first half of the 2024 Nasc

Kyle Busch would come into the 2024 Nascar Cup Series season looking to improve upon 14th place finish in the final championship standings during his first year with Richard Childress Racing that was highlighted by 3 wins and Round of 12 appearance. Everyone within the organization was happy about the success of Kyle Busch during his first season with Richard Childress Racing, but unfortunately, the team was showing signs of regression after scoring 3 wins in the first 19 races and the 8 Richard Childress Racing team was looking to prevent the 2nd half performance in 2023 from spilling into the 2024 Cup Series season. Kyle Busch would begin the 2024 Nascar Cup Series season on a pretty good note during the first 2 races of the year, which saw the 8 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet score finishes of 12th place in the Daytona 500 (12 Laps Led) and 3rd place at Atlanta Motor Speedway (28 Laps Led) that helped him jump up to 1st in the point standings (30 points above the cutoff). The early season momentum would quickly evaporate during the next 3 races, which saw Kyle Busch score finishes of 26th place at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (18 Laps Led), 22nd place at Phoenix Raceway, and 25th place at Bristol Motor Speedway (5 Laps Led) that unfortunately dropped him down to 16th in points.

Kyle Busch was able to stop the bleeding during the next 3 races, which saw the 8 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet score finishes of 9th place at Circuit Of The Americas, 20th place at Richmond Raceway, and 16th place at Martinsville Speedway that helped him jump up to 15th in the point standings (+1 above the cutoff). Richard Childress Racing would continue to help Kyle Busch improve during the next 3 races, which saw the 8 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet score finishes of 9th place at Texas Motor Speedway, 27th place at Talladega Superspeedway (4 Laps Led), and 4th place at Dover Motor Speedway (Pole Sitter/34 Laps Led) that helped him jump up to 11th in points (12 above). Unfortunately, the struggles slowly returned back to Richard Childress Racing during the next 3 races, which saw Kyle Busch score finishes of 8th place at Kansas Speedway (14 Laps Led), 27th place at Darlington Raceway, and 15th place in the Coca-Cola 600 that unfortunately dropped him down to 14th in points. The struggles for Kyle Busch and Richard Childress Racing got even worse during the next 4 races, which saw the 8 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet score finishes of 35th place at World Wide Technology Raceway (Crash/15 Laps Led), 12th place at Sonoma Raceway, 35th place at Iowa Speedway (Water Pump), and 35th place at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (Crash) that unfortunately dropped him down to 17th in points.

What Happened To Kyle Busch In 2024?

Richard Childress Racing has regressed significantly since the beginning of Kyle Busch's tenure with the team, and the issues from the late stages of 2023 have managed to continue during the 2024 Nascar season. Both team and driver deserve their fair share of the blame for the regression in 2024 as this partnership between Kyle Busch and RCR has spiraled out of control after they failed to prevent the issues from becoming the norm during the 2024 Nascar season. This team has proven to be a solid contender when things are fully going their way, but unfortunately, Kyle Busch and Richard Childress Racing has lost the winning formula that made them into potential championship threat during the late stages of 2023.

How Can Kyle Busch Salvage This Season?

What Is Going On With Kyle Busch In 2024?-[C]Kyle Busch has been a major talking point during the first half of the 2024 Nasc

This organization needs a major overhaul during the second half of the 2024 Nascar Cup Series season as the possibility of making the 2024 playoffs is quickly fading away for Kyle Busch and the entire 8 RCR team. Kyle Busch still has the capability of running strong at any point in the season, but Richard Childress Racing needs to find ways of getting more performance out of the machinery in order to get better results on raceday. The recent change with competition director does show Richard Childress Racing is trying to salvage the remainder of the season, and maybe some input from Kyle Busch could help the organization turn things around before the 2024 NCS playoffs begin in the fall.
