An official response from the WorldPride host

A few months back (the same day transphobic Trump was inaugurated again, in fact), PHANTOM reached out to Capital Pride Alliance, the host of WorldPride 2025.

Trump had already announced his transphobic two gender policy.

WorldPride is soon to be hosted in Washington DC, which happens to be where the White House and therefore Trump, would be.

PHANTOM sought comment from Capital Pride Alliance on whether they had any fears with the delivery of WorldPride 2025, given the situation.

An official response was received over two weeks later and it was surprising and somewhat a disappointment.

Here is what was stated:

As we prepare for WorldPride in DC, we continue to work actively with local agencies that remain committed to maintaining safety for all visitors and residents. Our vibrant LGBTQ+ community in Washington, DC is the largest of any in the U.S. with over 14% of residents identifying as such. DC is, and will remain, one of the most inclusive and diverse cities in the world and is well practiced in hosting major events safely and securely.

As the LGBTQ+ community continues its fight for equality, visibility, and justice, WorldPride serves as a powerful rallying cry, and we are working to unite voices worldwide in of our movement. Among the major activities taking place is the International March on Washington and Rally on Sunday, June 8, 2025, to unite citizens, activists, and human rights leaders from around the world.

We believe that WorldPride has a vital role to play in bringing together people from different countries and backgrounds to speak out in favor of those who seek justice, equity, peace and freedom, and stand against bigotry, hatred, divisiveness, discrimination, homophobia and transphobia.

It seemed to be a carefully worded statement, similar to what is prepared for politicians.

There was a deliberate no mentioning of Trump and it was quite broad and generic.

Trump's policies and directives are in force, creating an environment where caution must be maintained for survival.

Perhaps they actually fear the Trump tribe's transphobia and are being careful what they say to avoid troubles.
