I’m bored so I’m making a quiz. I post too much so this will take me a hot minute to make and prevent the inevitable spam of questions I know the answer to and scads of rat pictures. Please give me if any of the information is inaccurate! :rat:

Probably because you’re a fast reader. The check mark just has to do with your speed

Firstly, the cage cleaning is controversial. It depends on amount of rats, the bedding, and whether or not they're litter trained. The only one that isn't an option is once a month. But I actually recommend fully cleaning only once a week, I know it was in with the correct answer but there was also twice a week in that answer too. The option twice a week in with the once a week shouldn't be there since most rats will be stressed out if their cage is deep cleaned twice a week. Spot cleaning of course should be on a daily or every other day but for the most part rats do best with a deep clean only once a week. If you have loose bedding and only two rats along with litter training you can definitely get away with doing it every other week since there cage isn't going to be nearly as soiled and you can just switch out the litter tray so its less stressful for them as possible. However standard is once a week. Any more often and most rats react in getting smellier and stressed out. Of course if you have over 6 rats cleaning twice a week is an exception since they soil way faster, but besides that I don't suggest it.

However even with some controversial topics, over all the quiz was fun to take! :)

Yeah the cage cleaning is definitely based on multiple variables, so I tried to make it a very general answer. I didn’t mean deep cleaning, but rather cleaning out the substrate and wiping down the hides. Thanks for your input though! I’ll look into a more general answer. I have a lot of rats (three cages each with six) so I clean twice a week lol

Haha I also use fleece so replacing the substrate to me means washing it and putting a new liner on. My rats haven’t been completely litter trained yet either. Pretty soon I’ll have 9-10 rats in a triple critter nation so I’ll have to clean it twice a week lol. Thanks for the input though, I have changed the correct answer to ‘it depends on the variables’ :)
