Theo: So, are you ready for the maths test coming up?

Amelia: I suppose. Ready as I'll ever be. What about you?

Theo: I think so. But that's what last-minute cramming is for right?

Amelia: [smirks] That's what responsible students don't do.

Theo: You've seen my grades; my dad says I should be attending a private school. Anyway, there's something way more exciting coming up.

Amelia: Really, what?

Theo: Love Day!

Amelia: Oh...yeah. That.

Theo: Everyone in school is talking about it. It's one of the big things that happen in the year.

Amelia: [softly] For some people.

Theo: You never know, someone may plan to give you flowers or something.

Amelia: That's highly unlikely. No one ever gets me anything. No one likes me like that.

Theo: Mia you're like...the coolest. If I weren't me, I'd have a crush on you

Amelia: [cheeks slightly blush] W-What?

Theo: You know, because you're friendly, pretty, you're kind. You always have my back. Maybe I should get you something.

Amelia: Why? I'm sure you'd want to give a gift to someone else. Besides, practically all the girls in our year like you. I'm sure you'll get many Love Day gifts as always.

Theo: [chuckles] That's true, but I greatly appreciate you and want to show it.

Amelia: Oh...well, that's...really nice of you Theo.

Theo: That's ok. We should head down. My mum probably made sandwiches for us.

Amelia: Sure.

[Theo begins to climb down the tree house ladder]

Amelia: Theo?

Theo: Yeah?

Amelia: Do...do you really think I'm pretty?

Theo: Of course. I'd say you're the prettiest girl I know.

Amelia: [shyly smiles] ...Thanks...that's kind of you to say.

Theo: That's alright, that's what best friends are for, right?

[Theo climbs back down the ladder. Amelia stands for a moment, fiddling with her friendship bracelet. ]

Amelia: [quietly] Y-Yeah... Best friends.
