Reynaldo's nanny, Jolene, is the daughter of one of Ricardo's father's friends. She is clearly experienced with babies and Reynaldo loves her. To her credit, she tries to keep things professional as long as possible. And to her credit, she does hold up for almost a whole semester.

In the end, though, she falls under Ricardo's spell. And it's not long before she, too, turns out pregnant.

However, this time, Ricardo decides to give their relationship an actual try and asks her to be committed partners. Jolene accepts and moves in with them and the baby while he finishes his last semester, with a promise to move into a bigger house as soon as college is over - regardless of what Ricardo's scores are going to be. His father is overjoyed to have another grandbaby and that his son seems to be about to settle down.

Winterfest is a good occasion for Zayn to reunite with his family, and to finally introduce Nyon to them.

Camille is secretly not really impressed, she thinks the boy looks sort of like a bum, but she tries to not show it. She's ive of them despite what she really feels, and Zayn can tell she's putting in some effort.

The day Ricardo finds out that he flunked two of his classes is also the day his second born decides it's time to come to the world. His father quickly forgets his son's marks when he rushes over to the hospital to welcome his second grandchild

Ricardo and Jolene have a son whom they name Mateo. The house proves to be too crowded with two newborns to share one bedroom with their parents. So they move out not too long after Mateo's birth, leaving Morgan and Zayn the house for themselves.

Morgan instead es their courses with flying colors and graduates with an impressive GPA, finding a good job just out of college. They start saving for a house payment and also date around in his spare time, looking for the right woman to come into their life.

The sudden spike in rent following Ricardo's move leads Morgan and Zayn to consider taking in a new roommate, even after Nyon moves in to help (and to be free from his annoying stepfather).

It's then that Nyon asks if they're willing to house one of his colleagues and close friend, a scientist who is in need of a safe space for himself and his baby.

Pascal, Nyon's colleague, moves in with his alien son, Tycho, not too long after. He's just about the same age as Reynaldo, with a bright green skin and completely black eyes. Although the baby's cries are unsettling at first, Pascal is a courteous, if a little messy with the baby's toys, man and quickly warms up to them all. Little Tycho seems to not like Zayn very much - Pascal's hypothesis is that he can somehow sense his latent wolven blood. Zayn didn't even know this was a thing - he thought he hadn't inherited Lou's curse at all.

One day they receive the sudden visit of Dante, their old high school friend. Having graduated from an Ivy League college with flying colors, Dante has quickly found a job as an intern in a law firm and moved back home with his parents while looking for the perfect house to buy. Watching his friends advance in life so quickly compared to him is sort of unsettling for Zayn, but this is the path he chose and he doesn't want to back down.

Dante's visits become more and more frequent and they're an excuse for him, Morgan and Zayn to reunite and reminisce. Sometimes even Ricardo can make it, although with his new job at his father's company, his new relationship and his sons, he doesn't have much free time. The friends often play cards well into the night, talking about their past and growing closer than they had been in a while.

While his friendships flourish, his relationship seems to be falling into a sort of unsettling flatness, as if they're getting used to each other - and not in a good way. They hardly ever go on dates, their bedroom life is cold and Nyon just doesn't seem to like being around him much since they moved in together, finding every excuse under the sun to spend time on his own (stressful day at work, headache and so on)

At first Zayn shrugs it off as being just the stress of his new job, that soon they will return to how they were, but the truth quickly comes to light.

Nyon confesses soon enough that he is really in love with Pascal, he has been all this time: they have been dating since high school, but had to break up due to his stepfather Layne's intense dislike of the boy. Zayn was nothing but a rebound for the man he adored so much - he was played like a fiddle.

That very day, after work, Zayn finds that everything that belongs to Nyon has been moved away from their bedroom and into Pascal's. They're pretty crammed now in there, but he couldn't care less - they deserve to be at least uncomfortable.

Though the first day was hard, the other days he feels nothing but a cold apathy. It's like he doesn't care. Was he even in love? Is he even normal?

When he catches wind of Morgan's foreclosure on his first house, he decides it's also time for him to move out. Problem is, he can't really afford it - so he does the unthinkable. He asks his parents to let him move back in.

Camille is adamant that she expects some help around the house, but as they speak she doesn't seem nearly as annoyed or condescending as he expected her to be - in fact, she sounds rather happy that he's moving back.

After three years of independence, Zayn finds himself back into his childhood home. But the atmosphere is relaxed, his family is warm and Camille... his MOM, is treating him with love and respect. He doesn't know what changed in her, but he's sort of glad something did.

He pours his heart and soul into his drawings and his job, scoring two promotions back to back. He takes part in the newly created tradition of family movie night, when they make popcorn and watch a random movie together, and he feels himself closer to his family than he has been in years. He's sort of happy, despite a veil of apathy still surrounding him.

Maybe he does need to be alone for a while. He hasn't been single for so long that he forgot how liberating it can be to not have to to someone else.

His free nights become an excuse to strenghten the bonds with those who stayed by his side. His friends cheer him up, his family is ive, and it feels like therapy, that Camille suggested, is helping him process his grief.

And soon the family gets bigger when Mindy turns out pregnant at 18. She's oddly calm about it, explaining that the father is someone she met during the summer. He lives abroad, but wants to be in the picture.

Sure enough, Mindy starts receiving payments labeled things like "nursery", "prenatal visit" and so on before the baby is even born, alongside small toys. With a new member on the way, the Reyes family prepares for a new chapter of their life to open.
