Obviously with nothing better to do with my life, I was thinking about smash Switch and being one of the only humans on this earth who hasn't really died down in of hype for this new game. ("Lol it's cause your 3DS is still broken xddddd") And I came up with topics for what I felt have been subtle pokes at what will be in store for the future Smash game. Bear in mind this is all speculation and I do not claim any of this stuff will actually happen, I'm just looking at evidence I've been given.
And no, there will not be any oblivious reference to Game Theory throughout this post.
My sense of humor isn't that dried up.
Yet.
I don't really know if this has been confirmed to anything yet so if it has In completely sorry for making this pls don't kill me.
The Chibi Robo Theory
We all waiting for that big Direct back in late 2017 and early 2018 waiting for a reveal of hopefully some huge game that would satisfy us beyond imagination but then we were like "it's not Smash." People were like analyzing if a single frame on Nintendo's website changed shades to be a little bit darker that it would be an indication of a new Direct.
I'm sure there was like a 24/7 Watch Squad on Nintendo's websites for each country monitoring to see if anything unusual occurred.
Then finally it came;
The Nintendo Direct Mini in January. Upon leading up to the Mini Nintendo knew about everyone being so tense for the next Direct that they would tease whatever possible to mess with fans on edge to relief their hype. Their Twitter poked fun at the idea numerous times.
From a Odyssey image of a mocking Parrot to a Chibi Robo engulfed in flames it was the ultimate teaser. But it was exactly that- an indirect smash reveal.

Hold your horses there buddy.
In no way am I saying Chibi Robo is likely nor does this prove anything about anything, but flames are a universal symbol for Smash. Unless I missed something (I most likely did.) the post amounted to absolutely nothing Chibi Robo related. No Chibi Robo in the Mini Direct either so that made no sense. They were intentionally playing with our hype for...nothing?
As far as I know (and I don't know much) , they haven't said a single word about Chibi Robo since then.

The flames are a universal symbol for smash. Supposedly this image did amount to something, it logically makes sense that it would be attached to Smash.
Chibi Robo was requested a lot for Smash 4 and has had a game or 2 since fairly recent. Zip Lash release in 2015, I believe right around when Sakurai and his project plan for Ultimate happened. Obviously Sakurai could have scrapped Chibi Robo in smash immediately since the series wasn't BotW level popularity, but he was highly requested at some point. That's why I feel he wasn't scrapped. He isn't the most popular, but Sakurai has been known for curveballs, big or small.

Guess what?
You know what game hadn't been revealed at that time?
Smash Ultimate.
This was January, not March or later. No one expected a smash game or even a reveal in the near future. But us fans wanted a game so badly, feeling trapped against a wall with Bayonetta slowly tearing apart Smash 4.
Let's face it, a lot of the Smash community was hoping this January Mini Direct would be the one, the one to reveal Smash. Nintendo knew it too. Think about it. If they teased something that we didn't know about yet, our suspicion would stay the same. They wanted to satisfy the Smash community with a hype teaser even if it "wasn't smash", though it was.
No one would even know that it was for smash, everyone just ed it off as a way to tease hype. Mario Odyssey was teased because of its DLC at the time. That's why it would be such a smart choice to get by with it. Nintendo can play their cards right and reveal Chibi Robo later on. Nintendo loves playing games with us.
Chibi Robo just seems like a logical option if possible. He seems like a comfortable fallback choice that definitely would bring an interesting moveset to the table.

It could have been a symbolic representation as to what's come. Maybe Chibi Robo was supposed to stand for something else entirely out of the realm of smash. Maybe it was just a random teaser image. That was it.

Chibi Robo probably got some on the Smash Ballot as well, giving a little confirmation that he wasn't a bad choice.
On the counter side, if they teased that image and risked revealing a smash character too early, that could have been a big problem, especially if Smash wasn't revealed yet. Also, Chibi Robo would have most likely been the first character they revealed. No sense in waiting on that, plus fans could finally put together 2 and 2. It would also be a long time between the image and his reveal in smash, no sense in ruining some hype.

That's pretty much my ideas on a potential Chibi Robo "reveal." I still feel like I forgot to add something Dx) Of course, I am not saying he has a good chance of making it in, or a chance at all. This theory could be stemmed off absolutely nothing because they already revealed what the image meant for all I know. So I ask you:
1. Do you think Chibi Robo will be a newcomer in Ultimate?
A. Not at all.
B. Smaller chance, not as relevant.
C. Medium chance, not as relevant, but definitely not unpopular.
D. High chance, he is pretty popular, but the theory is unrelated.
E. High chance, the theory makes sense.
F. Most likely will be added on as DLC.

2. How many characters, if any, will be implemented due to the results of the smash ballot?
A. 0
B. 1-3
C. 4-5
D. 6-10

A. The smash ballot is probably outdated by now, there's probably better characters out there who would win in popularity because of their new games.
B. They already picked Bayonetta, so why not pick a few more? After all, Nintendo nor Sakurai claimed that they weren't using the rest of the results. He probably was already brainstorming Ultimate at the time because of his project plan. If he really wanted Smash 4 to be his final game, he would have added several new characters from the ballot to Smash 4, but he didn't.
C. Since top 5 is an easy number, Sakurai will be looking to pick the other winners of the ballot. Sakurai has an adjusted schedule so he can even plan to add these characters in as DLC even if they aren't apart of the starting roster. Don't want to add too much though, they might not be as popular/relevant.
D. They want to add as many characters as possible from the Ballot. Majority of these characters retained popularity and are just as good as before.

3. With his history with Smash, how long will Sakurai continue to balance the cast after all DLC and the final cast have been finalized?
A. Sakurai will continue to the game longer than he did with Bayo, to ensure that the game lasts longer than smash 4.
B. Sakurai will the game just as long as he did with Bayonetta (1-2 patches in a few months) as him and the development team will now know what to fix better. They gain experience as time goes on, so to speak, even if they already did a pretty good job with Smash 4.
C. After the final wave of DLC, (or if he doesn't do DLC just until the finalized game) Sakurai will not balance the game as they either did an out of this world amazing job balancing the game or its time to move onto more and greater things.
D. Sakurai will infinitely the game with patches even after it's perfectly balanced to make sure fans who play the game are completely satisfied.

4. For the characters that won at the invitational, will they receive more buffs, nerfs, or will Sakurai leave them unchanged? (As long as they don't have glitches/exploits)

A. Continued to be buffed to keep up with the rest of the cast. Obviously some characters will definitely be changed and some mechanics will believe potentially removed or added.
B. Mostly nerfs, the cast might be weaker so Sakurai will try to compensate this.
C. No changes. They worked fine so now it's time to put majority of focus on the characters that may have not been changed.
D. No changes in the released game. Will only be buffed through patches to create balance if needed.
E. Sakurai will focus and change these characters last before the release so he can balance them with other characters he buffed.

A. Yes, he added in the mechanic and wants to attract some Melee fans
B. No, he satisfied Melee fans already it's time for different mechanics to focus on.
C. Sakurai is done focusing on mechanics and will now focusing on balancing characters.

Bonus: My Reaction to Smash Ultimate on the Day it was Revealed

It's the morning of the big Direct and I find nothing better to do than write this. I'll have school when the direct is initially officially live, but I'll try to view it spoiler free. No internet, social media, whatever after 12:00. (Time of the direct.)

I know Smash among other games will give Nintendo a pretty strong presence because they have to have some major games revealed. Here's hoping Nintendo wins E3, but I give credit to Microsoft and that company that starts with a B that I can't the name of at the time I'm writing this for string presentations that may have won it all.

Before I get to watch the smash direct before, I've only once been able to view a Smash reveal live without any spoilers. That was Cloud's reveal.

I that was hype on its own, even though I didn't know who Cloud was at the time. Now this time around I have more knowledge of everyone wanted in smash. And while there are popular characters I don't specifically want that will probably be revealed today, I'm sure there characters lie in the hearts of the people who thoroughly enjoy their games.

I started watching the Direct 11 minutes after it started so I saw everything 11 minutes after everyone else. I was in my Java class (lol what a rebel not doing school work, though I actually did get work done) and had to suppress any excitement or screaming. (I swear I'm a good student I have all As and Bs this marking period.)
I literally just covered my hand over my mouth when something exciting happened. Obviously the new FE game looks amazing, but I honestly forgot about it with smash.
That smash man.

This was basically my reaction immediately after Snake's reveal. I said that in Reaver's server. Of course I couldn't scream because I was in class, so I suppressed my hype by covering my mouth.
Looking at everything I saw, I'm stoked about Ike Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn alt. That was the one thing I asked for and it's almost as if Sakurai could hear me. Although I was a bit disappointed with the new Ike voice actor, here's hoping Ike's changes in the new game will more than make up for it.
If not, well I have other options.
I'm honestly so glad to see everyone return. I'm a bit surprised that Sakurai went as far as changing everyone, but hey, it's looking to be pretty great.
"What do you mean Waluigi, Bomberman, and Krystal are assist trophies?"
While it is a disappointment for those who wanted these characters to be playable, this allows more opportunity for the other characters who don't have a role yet. Since they have 66 or however many characters, that leaves about 4 new characters they can reveal to hit 70. And what better way to do that then do add the 4 runner ups to Bayo in the smash ballot? And potentially Sakurai can add 3-5 more characters as dlc, but I doubt he will go that far.
You can tell Sakurai put a lot of time and effort to satisfy everyone here. You might not like how the game plays because you are too stubborn to give up every single way of your favorite smash game, but he offered the game to Casual, competitive, Melee, Smash 4, Brawl, and 64 fans. I don't think he would have just added I directional air dodging just to put it in. And I doubt he would do it to improve competitive solely. He wants to appeal to Melee fans. That's why he had 4 Melee players at the invitational.

It's the ultimate game, be happy. I'm psyched up to play the game, and I believe it will deliver.
I love how they changed so many characters. If I went through every change I like about each character, it would take me more than a day. Things are really looking up for the new game. While the December release date is far, far away we still have so many opportunities. We can potentially get a test fire/punch demo like we did with Arms to satisfy our hype to play the game. It also gives Sakurai a lot of time to finish the game and perfect it. He looks worn out and he honestly deserves a break when it's all done and over with.

Sakurai: Uniting a Community
Sakurai has given us reason to be together again. He's trying to get us back together.

He included every character from every game, that way no one felt left out. If he actually didn't care about getting the whole Smash community interested in one game, then explain why every character is returning. That would make no sense if he wanted to include newcomers and he certainly isn't appealing to anyone else besides the Smash community. Obviously if you were a Pichu Main in Melee, you wanted a return. Why would he try to interest non Smash fans in characters that mostly aren't that relevant or unique to Nintendo. It's for the Fans.
He included the casual community with the variety in the cast. Anyone coming from competitive say Arms or Splatoon can sit down and play recognizable characters for fun. He made quick final smashes because many don't realize that casual players normally have 2-5 minute matches and every second you are trapped in a Final Smash is a second that you lose to make a comeback with a wack item or another smash ball.
He also included the competitive community with the Invitational. Instead of randoms, he considered great smash players from around the world to compete. This relieves tensions from the real world and allows you to relax with others. It unites and creates a diverse community that we can only watch grow. Speaking of unity, he included many mechanics from Melee and Smash 4. Melee has built a strong competitive community around this aging game. Majority of them don't want to leave because it's nostalgic. At the same time, some dedicated fans want to experience the communities of each game and enjoy them until they can settle on a favorite.
This also unites the ages. Melee players who are growing older and Smash 4 players who are still young are both offered this amazing game that combines the best aspects of both games. Not only that, but even if you started smash 4 at age 20, you still have a chance to play Ultimate.

Details I noticed
-Palutena's Guidance or Snake's Codec calls? Or something entirely new?
-Long charging moves can now change direction after they are release. So Roy can charge flare blade to the right and then release it on the left. This is also true for Mac and potentially more characters I have not seen yet.
-Dr. Mario looks absolutely creepy with a Ganondorf stomp.
-To sum up Ridley, 300%.

-Ganondorf still doesn't have anything "original" in his moveset. While his sword is new, everything about the way he swings it isn't.
-Ike's helicopter up air is gone and now he has some faster general FE up air. It looks like a lot of up airs and forward airs for Ike strategy. Some of his moves seem laggier to balance out, but that could be because the gameplay is faster than smash 4. Aether goes higher, side b still goes into freefall from what I've seen. Ike also gets his blue flame in more moves as well. Eruption also gives off 3 pillars of flame from eruption. I'm definitely keeping an eye on Ike, although I think he'll end up around the same place he was in Brawl and Smash 4.
-Snake can keep up with Sheik according to the gameplay we saw at the Invitational between top players, so potentially a majority of the characters will actually be balanced perfectly.
-Ryu looks a bit... one sided. Maybe he'll turn out alright in the days leading up to Smash Switch's release, but uh I'm not sure how some of his moves are supposed to effectively work.
-Now I can play Battlefield all I want!
-^ Hopefully I don't sound too excited.
-Some characters seem unchanged so how will they fit in to Smash Switch. Is it just that they have yet to be changed for Smash switch's mechanics (I don't think any of them were playable at the invitational.)

-Majority of characters seem to have improved mobility and frame data, so just because someone looks good doesn't mean they are. They didn't showcase every character presumably because they still have to tweak them. Some moves even shown off in the demo had moves seem exactly the same which means they might be updated and improved for the final game.
-Bayo is going to receive nerfs after the surprised expression on his face after watching gameplay of her.
-The quick knockback indicates that most likely combos like Koopah and Ding Dong will be omitted from the game as they will launch too fast too followup. This may cause a problem in general if there aren't too many combos. Then again, this is a good way of balancing out the cast because some fast characters won't be as good as some heavies since they can't rack up damage.
-Some characters have yet to have gameplay outside of the Nintendo smash bros website, so look out for them.

-Doubles probably won't be as good as singles because of damage and knockback and all that good stuff.
Majority of these are observations that I think will be present in the final game.
Of course there is no telling what they will keep in the final game and what they will change so take these words with a grain of salt.

Obviously I was scouting out potential mains for smash switch. As far as I know right now, none of these are guaranteed to be my main and I'm just looking at them extra closely.
These are the characters I'm looking at for mains at the moment in smash Switch so far:
-Ike: Ike has been my consistent Main for Brawl and Smash 4. He's become one of my favorite characters as a whole. I'm already considering him as a pocket for smash switch because I've had knowledge of him for 2 games and I'm going on a third. Even if I don't use him, there's always that great chance where I pull him out and do well.
-Peach/Daisy: Peach was my original original Smash Bros Brawl Main. I dropped her later on for other characters since I was new to the game. Fast forward I ended up picking her back up again in smash 4 after realizing how enjoyable she is to play and I ed that.
-Lucas: I consider Lucas to be my official Brawl and Smash 4 pocket. I'm not going to lie: I lose a lot with him. I'm not anywhere near the best Lucas in the world. But he always seems to come through for me in the most clutch ways and I'm glad to say that. Something about him is so quirky and makes him a good option.
-Ryu: Ryu has been a character I've wanted to learn for a while. In smash 4 3ds I was unable to learn him due to the horrible control stick leading me to drop the character since I didn't look like the best Ryu u b instead of True Shoryuken. Though I'm especially weary about Ryu in Smash Ultimate because he only faces his opponent which makes him a lot more...different.
-Roy: Inverse Marth has also been a character I wanted to Main for a while. He would have been my ballot pick if he weren't revealed as dlc for smash 4. I was so into maining him until I saw his up b. It felt way too short. Sadly I gave him up for other characters, but I've grown used to his recovery. I'm now willing to take full advantage of Roy's Moveset if I decide to Main him.
-Cloud: Once again, Cloud fell into the same hole that Roy did. The recovery just felt short, even if it wasn't that much shorter than Ike. I seeing his fsmash and that turned me away from Cloud more because it was super annoying to real with and I couldn't imagine dealing something that annoying.
-Pit/Dark Pit: I've always considered Pit. Since I played Uprising, I fell in love with the series. The humor in this game is spot on which makes me think: what will the in game dialogue be? I loved Pit originally in smash 4, as time went on I stopped playing him.
-Rob: I've been playing some brawl recently and the one thing I've noticed is that Rob has a win record better than my Ike by 16%. Given that it's purely Us, the perfect inputs might have a role to play, but Rob is keeping my eyes peeled.
-Ice Climbers: The Ice Climbers have always interested me but trying to control 2 characters makes it more of a challenge. While in Brawl I didn't Main them because they just lacked range for me. I like being able to space and they didn't give me as much as I needed with my own playstyle.
-Snake: Not going to lie, I used to hate snake in Brawl. I used to 1v1 him with final smash only and whenever he got the smash ball it was like 2 free kos if he landed the smash ball. I've grown to enjoy him more. He's a lot more fun to set up traps and make sure your opponent lacks movement options so they are forced to play your own game and your own pace. He's similar to Ike, who is my main, in of weight and everything, so this would make it super easy to Main Snake.
-Wolf: Probably my best of the Starfox character, not because I like him any more than the others, but because he plays very similar to Ike. He's slow and is heavier.
-Inklings: Splatoon 2 has become one of my favorite games of all time. I generally adore the characters and would love to Main them. The concept of their Moveset seems really interesting even if I still need to get more of a feel for them before I can say anything definitely.
-Link: I have 325+ hours in Breath of the Wild so a debate on picking up Link is out of the question. Since he has added BotW characteristics, I have more of a reason to pick up Link. I've already considered picking him up in previous smash games so Smash Switch is no exception.

Well that's it for this split apart 2 part blog. I have another blog ready after taking me like a whole school year to even write these blogs. I probably only have like 1 more blog planned at the moment, but I started writing that back in March so I don't think that's coming along too well.

If you spot any specially you can always flag them for being off topic if I don't catch them. They really are gray area where some of them aren't enough to be considered off topic whereas some are.
