Good evening. I had some extra time tonight, so I can post part 2 of the blog series covering my favorite costumes in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

This one will take care of the eleven newcomers in the vanilla game. Let's get right back into it, shall we?

Favorite Colors for Smash Ultimate characters (Part 2: Newcomers)-Good evening. I had some extra time tonight, so I can post

Inkling: magenta color

Coming fresh out of Splatoon, the Inkling was the first newcomer confirmed for Ultimate. Like in the original game, this character makes use of colorful ink while fighting. She looks to be a fun fighter.

My favorite color for Inkling is the magenta girl. She specifically rocks a Takaroka Mesh, Black Squideye, and White Kicks from Splatoon. This looks similar to my favorite Inkling skin from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

I like how the Inkling costumes incorporate various clothing from the Splatoon universe. The male variations look neat too.

Daisy: purple dress

The first newcomer branded under the Echo Fighter classification, Princess Daisy now s the battle.

In spite of popular opinion, I really do like Daisy as a character. Sure, she's loud, boisterous, and competitive, but she's also likable and fun.

This purple dress appears to be a reference to her palette swap in Mario Tennis 64's Special Game mode. Incidentally, I love that Daisy can actually change colors now.

Other dresses I like are the white, pink, blue, and black ones.

Ridley: old-school palette

Previously popularized for being "too big", Samus' archenemy Ridley finally is playable! I am still in disbelief...

My favorite skin for this space dragon is this lavender one with neon-green wings. It looks like his sprite from the original Metroid, which served as inspiration for his inclusion in Ultimate.

I don't think I will main Ridley, but his moveset looks fun. I can't wait to learn the timing of his Skewer special.

Simon: purple outfit

The first character revealed from the August presentation was Simon Belmont, a main character in the popular Castlevania series. I can't say I am into the series, but a lot of people are, and Simon certainly looks like a strong dude.

I like this purple recolor. It resembles a character named Cornell from Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness. I mainly appreciate the combination of white accents and silvery hair. The blue and black colors are good follow-ups.

Richter: green outfit

Before his splash screen appeared, I had absolutely no idea who Richter Belmont was. I...think I can be forgiven on that, given that I barely recognized who Simon was.

This dark green costume takes origins from the Curse status seen in games like Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and Dracula X. Again, I have no real attachment to this color; I just like how it looks on the character.

Richter's outfits look pretty darn good. I can get behind them all, even the "Instagram filter" blue one.

Chrom: black and turquoise outfit

Chrom, Lucina's father and a main character from Fire Emblem Awakening, is now in Smash Ultimate as Roy's Echo Fighter.

Frankly, I am happy Chrom got in. I never truly understood why he wasn't in Smash 4, but he's here now. Yes, he is another derivative of Marth, but it doesn't bug me that much. It's strange that Robin still uses him in his/her Final Smash, though...

My favorite for this swordsman is this black outfit with turquoise accents. From what I researched, this appears to be a Smash original. Turquoise is a color I low-key like.

Chrom's outfits are able. I like his yellow-brown one based on his nephew Owain and the white-and-red combo.

Dark Samus: gray armor

I'm going to start by saying that it is great to see Metroid get twice as many reps between Smash 4 and Ultimate. To see this series get some love is quite refreshing, and I'm not even a Metroid fan.

Dark Samus received some neat colors in her appearance in Ultimate. My favorite is this light gray outfit with reddish details. This is derived from concept art in Metroid Prime 2. The red parts remind me of lava...

As an Echo Fighter, Dark Samus is quite similar to Samus, but her differences in her attack effects are pretty to behold.

King K. Rool: pink scales

If there's one thing I loved during the hype cycle for Smash Ultimate, it was seeing the confirmation of the mighty Donkey Kong villain King K. Rool. It was the perfect send-off to my favorite Smash Ultimate Direct! Plus, the Gangplank Galleon remix is epic.

I intend to main K. Rool in Ultimate, as I like the thought put into his moveset, and I tend to gravitate towards powerhouses. My one concern is getting used to his belly armor mechanic...

My favorite color for this croc is this pink-scaled one. There are a few Kremlings in the Donkey Kong games that are pink, such as Skidda from DKC3 or Klump from DK64. I like the copper-toned stomach.

The fact that King K. Rool changes the color of his scales is awesome. I kinda wished that his armor offered more metal sheens, like silver, emerald, or sapphire, but am stoked that K. Rool returned after ten years!

Isabelle: teal-green sweater

Isabelle, the likable shih tsu character from Animal Crossing, looks like she will be a fun semi-clone of Villager in Smash Ultimate. I low-key like her, primarily due to her appearance in Mario Kart 8's Animal Crossing DLC pack.

Her outfits are rather simple, alternating between her standard look and her long-sleeved sweater worn during the winter. My favorite is this teal-green one. Apparently it's a Smash original, but could coincidentally reference Animal Crossing characters with similar outfits, like Kaitlin or Tom Nook.

I also am into the light blue, gray, pink, and lavendar colors.

Ken: teal gi

Ken Masters, the OG Echo Fighter in fighting games, is a neat addition to Smash Bros. Ultimate. I had a feeling he would make it in, although I still wish Shadow the Hedgehog came in as well, but I digress.

While Ken is Ryu's Echo Fighter, he feels more like a Melee-esque clone in the sense that he has more than just cosmetic differences. Namely, he seems to favor combos to hard hits and uses his legs a bit more.

Ken has a decent selection of colors. I choose this teal one as my favorite. I think it's a good counterpart to Ryu's purple. The Violent Ken one is also a highlight.

Incineroar: blue fur

The very last newcomer confirmed for the vanilla game of SSBU is Pokemon's Incineroar, hailing from the seventh generation.

I was pretty sure that we would get a new Pokemon fighter, given that every Smash game has one, and Pokemon itself is a giant franchise. Some thought Decidueye would be the rep, but I kind of like Incineroar more; I have a soft spot for cats...

Anyway, my favorite skin for this pro wrestler is his blue fur. Blue and purple is one of my favorite color combinations, and this outfit is mostly a bright blue with a few generous dabs of purple put in.

Speaking of purple, I do like that color for Incineroar since it looks a lot like Big the Cat from Sonic. The Shiny and monochrome colors are great as well.

And that will just about do it!! Now, I do know that six characters are to be added as DLC, and Piranha Plant's costumes have been shown, but I will wait until all of it has been released to discuss those colors.

Once more, thank you for reading! 🤗

2 Chroms ain't strange as Awakening has time traveling, alternate dimensions, different universes, and different timelines so it's pretty logical how 2 Chroms could be in the same place
