We've all been there once in our life baros, a game you've thought you put so much time into and then you suddenly lose to someone who creamed you, weither it was a 4 stocked or a Perfect Cell touch of death into a kid buu level 3 ot happens to the best of us. It sucks doesn't it? Then you start thinking "am I bad?" or "Should I quit" and even "After this humiliation, I can't show my face". Well if I'm going to be honest with you guys if your thinking that slap yourself in the face and take a good look at a bear necessity the simple bear necessities. There are many and multiple ways after a big defeat to figure out what you need to do and I am, yes me, THE best guy ever, going to tell you the ways that I've dealt with deafet and them on to you my young padlewands.
Play the game differently

Now I don't mean change play style, I mean explore what other features the game have because not only it will help you maintain your skill, but also learn some stuff about what your character can do and see what the game can fully offer you besides playing it competitively. Even change your characters in these modes who knows, you might find a better fit to your play style and a more comfy main than you already play. Even grab a couple of friends and free for all do dumb stuff be fun. Trust me, you need to know how fun this game can be when played casually, thats why we all liked brawl cause we where dumb kids who where just having fun and no competetive scene to get in our way of us just being a bunch of rose boys enjoying a game because in the end, this is a party game and not a fighting game.
The Lab

If anyone hasn't heard of this term then allow me to explaine, This term is used in the FGC community to mean to go into the training mode in the game and figure out what your team/character(s) can do/combo string. You might be already doing this and not have heard of this term. While there is a training mode in smash, try not to use it and instead go into the normal mode and set the time for infinite because in training mode your moves don't get stale in which could lead to false combos at different. Well with that weighted training clothes out of the way what you want to do in the "lab" is figure out what move links with what move. When you figure that out see what options you have at different weighted characters cause not all combos work on every character at the right percentage. This may sound weird but, try and press buttons better what I mean is figure out how to tap jump and not mis input things cause it will help you get consistency down to the C, do this for a hour or 5 and you got yourself a new lovely honed playstyle. This my also sound very obscure but also watch non top players fight. Normally you can see what other players are doing and how they play the character and see them link up combos that you may think would never link up/work. Even top players do that in newer games just watching top 50 of brackets to see how each individual is playing a character and what dumb stuff they do.
Talk to someone

I know this may seem weird but if you are keeping negative, angry, or depressed thoughts due to a defeat that will damage and hinder your playstyle/mindset. What I mean by that is emotion is a huge driving force to what we do and act, like getting mad and wanting to force something cause its not moving and not putting heart into stuff cause you're feeling down due to your performance. Those emotions can be brought up agian due to the fact of losing agian and slowly but surely you'll lose intrest and stop playing this game as a whole. Which if you do want to quit this game then by all means don't let people force you on playing a game that you may not like. But if its reasons due to being humileatedly defeated or just a big loss in your books isn't a good way to check out. Go talk to somebody that you trust about it and try to reason with yourself and trust me, you'll thank me later for this.
Take a breather(s)

This is pretty much taking a break but for a lesser amount and here's why this is better than taking breaks. Breaks leave you to a long period of times to go and do whatever for months on end will get you rusty and your playstyle/mind games, will dwindle. Taking breather(s) is only a week off, just a week it would be enough time for you to get introduced into a game or pick up a skill like drawing or fishing (this is what I did to learn harpoon fishing). If you do want to go back to your new founded activity, you can make a schedule and plan for what you want to do also real life pointer here: just having a planner on you and scheduling stuff will help you in the future because having something to do lay out infront of you helps you to build a strong memory and keeps you from going scatter brain if stuff piles up and could develop anxiety or worse a total burnout.
Conclusion

Well, there yea have it! The ways of handling a "crushing" defeat and just this little tid bit: Every loss no matter how big it is or humiliating it is don't think of it as a finale show and learn from the experience. To get good we all must first get our stuff kicked in and get better. Genki Toppa you know? Well this has been frivolous in college and I'll see ya whenever? Buh bye!
