Kay, Kacie, Rachel, and Vanessa Sweeties... I am sorry.

Now that that's out of the way. Hi! Hello! I am very tired. I worked a seven hour shift and it was busy for all but like... 30 minutes. However I wanted to make this post.

It's that time of year again. People are leaving. The community is drying up. Some flowers bloom all year long, others thrive during certain seasons. Unfortunately... Swifties Amino is a summer flower. Like... Hibiscus. Anyways.

In the past few days we've had a lot of people freaking out. Between the community being dead (which, if you ask me, is something that we need to just... Fix. A lot of people spend their entire app existance in chats and if they actually posted even once a week we wouldn't be scrapping for featured posts. No shade towards anyone specific, but if the shoe fits... Yikes?), and people leaving (whether it be silently or with noise)... People don't know how to handle it.

Here's How

First of all, accept it. Statistically, the longer you are on this app, the less people who ed when you did will be here. We grow up. We have lives. Suddenly you're going from fifteen with a couple honors classes and an honor choir to seventeen applying for colleges and jobs to nineteen trying to balance running errands and working and filming stupid videos for the internet hoping for a better life...

Um. Anyways.

Point is. People come and go. This app ebbs and flows. I think there have been three or four seperate occasions in which I have known everyone (or almost everyone), watched them leave, not know any of the new people, have to learn their names, know them (but not connect), and then watch them leave. And that's how it goes.

It's usually first year s who leave around this time of the year because they're bored (or school, or whatever else), and it's usually first year s that freak out about it. SA becomes such a big part of your life, and even if you can't post about Taylor (whether you lose interest in her, or she's on hiatus), you still come to chat with your friends... It becomes such a big part of your life that you don't think you could see yourself without the lifeboat.

I love and hate SA for this, but the truth of the matter is it is really hard to evolve as a person on SA. On our main profiles, we are required to stay on topic, Taylor. And yes, you might see the age of time through the few personal posts we share... But all and all, it's Taylor.

On Instagram and Twitter and Tumblr, and most other social media... When your intrests change, you can update your profile and it steadily changes with you. You post what you want. However, on Amino. If you change to the point where a community doesn't fit you anymore, you can't change your profile. It's one thing to go from a debut stan to a Red stan to a Rep stan... It's another to go from a debut stan to a Red stan to an Ozzie Ozborne stan and decide that Rep isn't heavy enough for you.

But sometimes that happens in life. As I'm typing this, I realized Amino isn't built for a long term base in mind... But that's a whole other topic.

We evolve as People. We have to learn how to manage our time and prioritize. We have to accept that things will get into the way.

All we can do is go forward. Keep making edits. Keep writing stories. Keep coming up with content. Keep occasionally sharing our lives with everyone. Soon, there will be a whole bunch of new people ing and making their home here. We need to welcome them, and hope they stick around for a while too.

The People in our community may change, but our values and morals won't. We are a kind, welcoming place. We want to be somewhere that if Taylor came across... Would be proud of.

Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. I'm somewhere between venting because I'm annoyed and trying to be encouraging and asking y'all to chug along even if your friends decide to leave... Because SA is more than the people. It's an experience. Good Noot.
