“𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐞" 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭

Hello there! I’ve done some thinking over the weekend, and have decided to put something out here for a group roleplay. I hope at least a few of you will like this enough to give it a try and me.^^ If anyone more experienced with hosting has any advice, or anyone is interested in co-hosting, please let me know! I would really appreciate it as this is my first time in this community hosting anything.

”The city of Panem as we know it is the spitting image of perfection. We are safe, we are cared for, and we thrive.”

”But what lies beyond the walls?”

”What is so deadly outside of this sanctuary that peering beyond those slate gray walls is supposedly a death sentence?”

”Is it a lie?”

”Has no one really ever tried? That is what we are told. There are rumors of those who climbed the walls many years ago, and they never returned to tell the tale.”

”Because they died?”

”𝐎𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐬𝐚𝐰?”

After a catastrophic, worldwide phenomenon caused earth to become little more than a deserted wasteland, “Panem” is believed to be the last civilization left alive and flourishing thanks to the powerful force field that shelters those within from the full force of a now deadly climate.

Upon its establishment, Panem did not hold a central authority figure. People ed each other, though that system left some unsatisfied. Due to the lack of from inhabitants, Panem’s authority figures are known anonymously as “The Overwatchers”. Their goal is to provide structure and order to the city, though some utilize this governing power better than others.

It is not known to many besides The Overwatchers what lies beyond the stone walls that block any view of the outside, and that leads many to question the legitimacy of these claims that the outside world is truly so dangerous.

The city is entirely self-sustaining, though the system is quite fragile. Livestock and crops are grown, though a single bout of disease among them could wipe out a food source entirely. Extreme care must be taken to preserve the delicate balance of society.

So you’ve made it this far, and you’d like to ? That’s great. Let’s go over how you can do just that. There are a few simple roles to discuss here.

𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬

Overwatchers are Panem’s primary source of structure. While they are not necessarily *bad*, they tend to be militant and lack empathy for what their laws may do to those below them. Their primary goal above all else is to ensure that everything inside the walls & force field stay in, while everything else outside stays out.

Overwatchers are appointed by the current team at the time. They often go by an anonymous title, or a new name of their choosing. It can be frowned upon by quite a few to convert from citizen to Overwatcher.

𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐧𝐬

Regular, everyday people attempting to live out their lives in this post-apocalyptic city. They likely work a stable job, and mostly conform to how society is shaping up to be. Some may be curious as to what lies outside, but most simply keep their heads down in favor of the life they’ve been handed. After all, if everything is to be believed, life is good in the city.
