athanasios katsaros. his name means “immortal” or “eternal life”, and is derived from “a” (meaning “not”) and “thanatos” (meaning “death”). he was named by his mother, after the titan of death, thanatos. he has multiple aliases or nicknames, the most common being, “the hand of death” and “death’s sovereign”.

athanasios was born male and currently identifies as such. he has never thought of changing his gender as he is comfortable how he is now. athanasios uses he/him pronouns. athanasios is homosexual — he’s only attracted to males. sorry ladies. ;P

athanasios is a jaguar or panthera onca. the jaguar is a species known for their solitary nature. they are the third largest big cat species in the world and the biggest in the americas. while athanasios’s species often inhabit tropical and subtropical environments, he prefers to live in caves and caverns. he mainly feasts on small mammals, fish, and even little lizards.

this feline was born with a pitch-black coat, rather than the usual tan and brown coat of other jaguars. his eyes are amber, though, dull and lifeless almost. his flank is marred with many scars from past battles. he often wears a silver gauntlet on his left paw, crafted by the greatest weaponsmith living.

forced into war at a young age, athanasios was taught to not let weakness show. he grew strong rather quickly and he learnt to adapt to a world filled with battle. he is rather cold and distant, preferring to stay in his solitude. taking on the role of death, or rather, being the demigod of death has changed him, for better or for worse. despite this, he is actually very gentle with children and yearns to have his own someday.

when he was but a cub, his mother tossed him into the river of souls. luckily, he survived, now however, he is immortal and holds a grudge against his mother. death is something he has grown used to seeing, but even so, he feels remorse every time he has to take a life.
