i. Introduction
Following the most recent post by The Core Crew, which you should most definitely read, Shadsy wanted to know if a PSA should be made about this specific topic. I insisted on making it so, here we are!
Please read the post carefully, as many people seem to have a misconception that s aren't punished. Hopefully this clears up any doubts and/or misassumptions people have.

ii. Explanation
Many people seem to have the misconception that s don't get punished. That, is far from the truth. s do get punished, like do. Only, their punishment is much more harsh. They're only punished if they did something to deserve it, like any other member.
Everyone has broke the [Guidelines] at least once, it's true. When you start out in the Amino, you don't know the rules. That's normal, and the punishment isn't harsh, since it's very commonly something minor like spam or chainmail. But being in the Amino for a long time, knowing the [Guidelines] well and still breaking them, that's not normal.

iii. How Do s Get Punished?
Imagine being a . A curator, who made it out of 150+ applications. Many would love to have the position, many dream of it. People get really happy when they're chosen to be on the Moderation Team, and do their best to prove they deserved the spot.
Now, imagine making it through 150+ applications, being a , and getting demoted. You would be very upset, wouldn't you, That's how s are punished. If they break a major Guideline, they don't get hidden, they get demoted, with a very small chance of getting back on the Team.
s get demoted if they break a major Guideline, such as sexual roleplay, bullying, harassment, etc. But, if that isn't the case, and it was a minor offense, such as alcoholic behavior, spamming, etc, they normally get suspended for a chosen period of time. They will not have any powers or authority when they are suspended, and will return back to the team when their suspension time is up.
It doesn't make sense to have a hidden , since it isn't a fair punishment. They're a , they have the responsibility to make sure no one breaks [Guidelines], it's their responsibility to enforce the [Guidelines], not break them. And, that is the reason why s get the harshest punishment if they break the rules.
Another reason why a may be demoted is that they weren't doing well as one. As said here, a can be demoted if they aren't doing well in their moderation duties. If a is very inactive, or there are some other issues, they will be given a warning and time to fix the issue and/or their activity. If they are not able to do so, they will be demoted. The Moderation Team needs active and competent people, since it is quite a feat to manage an Amino with a 130,000+ .

iv. Conclusion
Hopefully this cleared the misconception that s don't get punished. They do, and in the harsher way possible. They're stripped of their authority and power, one that they worked hard to achieve. A hide can and will be lifted after a certain period of time, a strike runs out after a certain period of time, but a demotion is almost always a permanent one. A person is banned when they have either gotten 3 strikes, sent something sexually explicit, have been caught engaging in sexual roleplay, or are a troll.
If you have any questions or doubts, please feel free to ask in the comments! And with that, I end this PSA. Have a nice day/night, everybody!

once, only once have i ever gotten in trouble. uwu
But thank you for clarifying this to people of whom didn't understand this.
This post will help many people out!
Thank you for posting this.
I’m glad you guys took a ive route.
I have broken a minor guideline once, when I was fairly new.
I do understand.
A song that would be perfect for as to represent the way this place is run, it would be Ain’t I right By Marty Robbins
Oof I guess my question was answered. I didn't ask it but my brain made it
If I may ask, what if the following happens?
>The is going through an online situation where they can't be online, will they still be removed?
>A was, per say, in a roleplay. They didn't realize they were being tricked into doing a 18+ one until it happened. Would they be punished for it?
>A unintentionally made a mistake while doing their job, which is from my understanding hiding people who don't follow the guidelines. Do they get punished if it was on accident?
If you may answer, please do. I just wanted to clarify these things, mostly out of curuous nature.
Oi! I could answer these for ya!
1. No they would not. If its for an actually purpose, lets say hiatus, they would not be removed. Many of the mods have been on hiatus and they have not been removed.
2. Most mods would just ban them (if curator they would tell a leader) if someone tried to sex rp with them. I don't think that they would play along with it
3. They would not. Everyone is human. Almost every time though they are correct, because they have a screenshot of the person.

I see. Thank you very much. The information you have given me is much appreciated.
