Chapter 9:

Therapy for Thy Soul

P.O.V: Brock

We got to the therapist’s office and got sent to the designated room. I look down at Evan as we’re walking there. I can see him fiddle with his fingers. “Are you nervous?” I ask. He nods. I ruffle his hair, “Hey, it’s alright. I’ll be right outside the door if you need me.” He takes a deep breath before entering the room.

I hope he’ll be okay...

P.O.V: Evan

“Oh, Evan Fong, you’re here.” My therapist greets. I nod. “I’m Mr. Wrk, nice to meet you.” He shakes my hand. I go over to the couch and lay down on it. I figure it’s a common procedure. “Okay, so, your parents say that you have a condition. Would you please explain further on that?” Mr. Wrk asks. “I don’t know how it started. I think they’ve been here since the day I was born.” I explain. “Who are they?” “Bat Owl, Hoodini, Vanoss, and Rynx.” “Do they serve some sort of purpose?” “I haven’t quite figured that out yet, but the closest I got to it is Vanoss and Rynx are sort of my subconsciousness. Hoodini is why I’m diffident, and Bat Owl is my integrity.” I sigh.

“Aren’t you forgetting someone?” Vanoss rolls his eyes. “Who?” I ask. Rynx points at Vanti. “Oh right, I forgot about you.” Bat Owl laughs at this. “Rude.” Vanti glares.

“Sorry Mr. Wrk, they were talking to me.” “No it’s fine. I’m here to be patient and listen.” He smiles. “There’s also Vanti. He comes and goes, but he only exists when I’m stressed or alone.” “Well, that explains it I guess.” He writes something down on his clipboard. “Now, do you have a good relationship with your parents?” He asks. “Yes, I think so.” “Why do you say that?” “I don’t know, I think it’s just what’s been going on lately. Brian’s busy, Brock’s trying to get paid, it’s pretty crazy at the moment.” I shrug. “Do you have any close friendships?” “Yeah. Jon and Luke are my good friends. So is Lui, but I’m not to sure about Jon anymore.” “Can you give me further information about him? If it’s to much to ask, you can tell me.” “No it’s fine. I’m scared of losing him because of Lui. You see, Lui is a new kid at my school and my principal sent me to guide him around. We ended up becoming friends, and Jon is pretty salty about it. I don’t know what to do anymore because I have feelings for him! It feels just like I’m endlessly falling off a cliff. It’s scary, but there’s nothing to do except wait until you hit the bottom.” I can feels tears at the corner of my eye. “Wow, I didn’t think an eleven year old could hold so much anguish, so much emotion. To think you’re struggling with all this is unbelievable!” He sighs. “Do your parents know you’re gay?” He asks. I shake my head, “I actually think I’m bisexual, but they would be excepting either way because they‘re gay, so it doesn’t really matter.” “I see.” He looks at his watch, “Oh! I think it’s time for you to go.” I nod because I‘m not sure how to respond to that.

As soon as I get out, Brock hugs me. “So how was it?” He asks. “It was actually pretty relieving.” “I think you just needed someone to talk to since Brian and I are pretty busy.” He chuckles. “I think so too.” I smile.

A/N: Sorry this chapter was short! It’s sort of angst, but not really. I’m trying to figure out when to add REAL angst. That’s going to be hard...
