Dual Wielding

Usually you'll only utilise 1 weapon at a time but you have more than 1 hand don't you? This is where dual wielding comes in.

Main Hand and Off Hand

Most people have a dominant hand or "Main Hand" that they use for most things. This is the hand all the rules assume you're using for most tasks. However you do have more than one hand. Any grasping appendages aside from your main hand is referred to as an "Off Hand".

You can utilize your bonus action to use your off hand. You can add your attacking stat to your attack when you use both hands on a 1 handed weapon (Assuming you can fit both hands on it) or you can attack with two different weapons with the off hand having halved damage. Magicians can also use instant cast spells with their off hand if they didn't cast any spells during their turn.

Ranged Weapons

Ranged weapons are special in the sense that they rely on projectiles to do any real damage. This makes accuracy far more important and as such using a ranged weapon in an off hand increases difficulty by 1 but using a bonus action this can let you fire two weapons at once.
