Hullo Zelda Amino!!

Today is the final day of the 2025 Zelda Amino Art Fight, and as such, it is time for my final attack...

For those who don't know, I've created a tradition of saving my leader attack for the very end of the fight, and this year is no exception. I've also used this time to get really sappy, so I'll go ahead and get that part out of the way.

First, I want to thank each of the leaders this year for letting me yet again. This will be the fourth year I've participated, and I would honestly say this has been the best of those four. Not only was everyone so ive of one another, but I genuinely had so much fun this year and cannot wait for what the future holds. Win or lose, this has been an amazing experience and I'm so glad to have been a part of it.

I also want to thank my amazing team, as we have had such a phenomenal year and I am genuinely so proud of everyone. It has been amazing seeing what we've created, and I hope everyone else feels the same way as I do. Whether we win or whether we lose, we have done so much, so hold your chin high and celebrate the small victories!!

Next, I want to thank everyone who sent me an attack or a counter attack -- there's honestly too many to name here, and I'm sure that if I tried I would miss one or two. It has been amazing seeing everyone's work, and I adore each and every piece portraying my characters; you guys have genuinely motivated me to do more with them, so hopefully I should have something soon!

Finally, I want to thank everyone who has left a kind comment on any of my posts this month. I experimented with my attacks this year, and it made me so happy to see people enjoying them. I do still plan to post the attacks I didn't get around to in time, so I hope you'll keep an eye out for those as well!!

If you'll forgive a bit more rambling, I wanted to talk a bit about my process for this final attack. You see, I created an internal guideline for which leader I would target for my final attack each year -- I would choose a leader who had not been a final target in previous years...

...however, I have to go against this guideline on of one thing: I have another tradition of drawing iteration of Lumi, and this year will not be the exception.

Okay there's a lot I need to explain.

First things first, this piece is inspired by the MV for the song Heat Abnormal by Iyowa. I was actually going to do something completely different for this final attack, but this cover of the song released on Spotify earlier in the month and completely took over my life. I have been listening to this song on repeat for hours on end, and I am genuinely entertaining the idea of doing more blogs with this song and its lyrics.

Speaking of the lyrics, I don't think they really fit Lumi, but I still wanted to use her for the animation, as her design lends well to the whole "fluttering in the breeze" look the MV has. HOWEVER, I do not think I executed it very well ^^" Yes, the animation itself is fairly fluid, but if I had planned this out a bit better, I would have gone through and made sure everything had its own unique movement pattern instead of each piece just... moving the same way. That said, I've barely done anything with animation -- especially in my own style and not just mimicking someone else's -- so the fact that this product even exists in this form just makes me really happy.
