My first edit

For this months (amazingly epic) Challenge,

I decided to partake with my very first edit.

So here we go! Let me take you through the slightly nerve-wrecking process of how I created this entry of the #editpride challenge. When telling you how and when I added everything, I'll also explain why I did and how it relates to my pride.

Everything started with one picture. I saw it while I was searching for inspiration and fell in love right away, wanting to make it my central and background piece to start off with the edit.

I liked it because it expresses a fair amount of what I feel towards my sexuality. It has a certain depth to it, appearing strong but also vulnerable in a way.

Next off, I went to PicsArt, which is an App that was widely recommended for edits so I figured why not try it out.

It took me a fair bit of experimenting before I had figured out what I needed to place where, with what opacity and angle.

The outcome was this. I had taken a total of 3 more images to work into this one, majority as background too. Here they are:

As another step, I outlined the arm and one finger by hand in an attempt to make the hand appear more three dimensional, highlight it and add a more unique touch.

For the next part, I went to another App which I've been using for longer. Its called Text On Photo, and well, its pretty self-explanatory. I added text to my edit.

The specific phrase I chose is "I am proud". Its a simple message to convey how I want to feel about my sexuality and how everyone should be able to feel.

After this, I went back to everyones favourite editing app Picsart to finalise everything.

I added 5 more details. 3 of them were pictures in a similar style to the flowers which I had put around the hand, to match the look of them.

Something I did in my original edit was adding a "Bi" in the corner. However I later re-placed the pictures and removed the two letters because I didn't like the way it looked.

I had great fun working on this. Overall, it expresses my pride pretty well.

And thats how I created my entry! I hope I explained everything fine, and of course I hope you enjoy the result. The entire process took about one and a half hours, from looking for pictures and arranging them to discarding drafts and creating new ideas.
