Hello everyone and welcome to day 4 of celebrating my pride ocs. I'm very sorry I didn't finish this in time for the end of pride month but I have been very busy. Today's character is another character I showed a while back. That's right today we will be focusing on the iconic and lovely Luna from my Webster book series that I will start writing after my Loki fic.
This post will be split into three sections talking about how I came up with the character, why I made the character that identity and explaining their pride outfit.
Luna At Pride 2022
How I Came Up With The Idea For The Character
So I had just come up with a Nonbinary Spidey due to me discovering my identity and craving representation for Nonbinary people in super hero media. Dont get me wrong I love Spiderman, I love Starlord and I love Black Widow but why is it impossible for me as a Nonbinary person to be a superhero. After making Phoenix I absolutely knew they needed their MJ. I decided to give representation to the Demigirls since I use to think I was one and to celebrate I also wanted to make the character black, neurodivergent and hard of hearing. I thought that intersectional representation is also as equally as important so I did my best to make sure Luna wasn't just the black best friend or lover and that she was her on character who went on her own journey.
I give her the journey of releasing maybe an Afro Latino neurodivergent person can be a superhero too. In my eye shes as equally as important as Phoenix and Phoenix recognizes that and I hope once I work and release the fic you do too.
Why I Made Luna A Demigirl and Pan + Demisexual
I wanted Phoenix's friends to be queer to as its quite rare in media that we get to see an all queer group of friends in media. Literally I plan to make alot of the characters apart from one character queer. Although her sexuality won't be mentioned much it will show us although she loves Phoenix shes in denial and needs time to think about it. I also made her Pan because I believe their needs to be more Pan rep in media. As for the reason she's a Demigirl and uses She/They pronouns well it's because I believe that Two people with different identities on the Trans Spectrum shows how the Trans community can bond and how we can face our struggles together. I think Trans Friendship/Love is something that desperately needs to be shown more. I haven't written the fic but I hope I can represent her right.
Explaining Lunas Pride Outfit
As you can see Lunas outfit it themed off Anne Boleyn from Six The Musical accept the dress is Demigirl themed and the accessories are Pan + Demisexual themed. It is solely my head cannon that every year pride rolls around Luna makes Phoenix design pride outfits with a theme. I feel like Phoenix would pick musicals this time round to let Luna celebrate Six The Musical and feel complete Gender Euphoria in her outfit. Phoenix would definitely want to make the best pride outfit for Luna possible.
Conclusion
I really like Luna's pride outfit its probably my favourite out of all the designs I've done this year and yes it is inspired by my Anne Boleyn Pride dress I made in Animal Crossing. It's so detailed and I'm super proud.
