The Fault in our Tea

Disclaimer: this is a bit e h since I made it up as I went along and didn't really have that much motivation to begin with but I wanted to do it anyways :/. Hope you enjoy

#AOTSpooktober Day 13

Every 27 years or so, a random massacre would occur. Some with explanation, others without. Some would be blamed on natural disasters, while others would have the unfortunate circumstance of being one cause by a living, breathing person. Only few ever figured out this pattern, and those who did either died with the secret or moved far away, never to think or even go back to that wretched place where it all began. But, as luck would have, today was the year the cycle started again.

October 20,19XX

The danger had already begun. Two kids were reported missing and one was found dead at the riverbank. No one made a connection. There wasn't one to be made, or so the police reported. But of course, three kids decided to investigate. Become detectives for a day. So first, they went to the sewers. They found nothing. Second, they went to the riverbank. Also found nothing. Only a shoe of the victim the police had apparently left behind. One of them, a blonde by the name of Armin, decided to check the library to see if there was any connection the police overlooked. And, of course, he was proven right. At least he thought so, since there was apparently a huge accident involving many kids every 27 years. Best connection he could find really. He later showed this to his two best friends, partners in crime Eren Yeager and Mikasa Ackerman. They had found something, but not the cause. "If it mostly attacks children, or so says Armin's research, we could use one of us as bait and the other two attack it. Or at least trap it. The police obviously aren't gonna believe some 15 year olds like us when they have 'years of expertise' " the raven suggested, getting the approval of the other two of the 'council'. "That's a great idea... but who do we use as bait?" the brunette asked, clearly not wanting to be the one sacrificed to whatever being was behind it all. "I'll do it, I wouldn't be that much of use in battle anyways. You guys are clearly stronger than me." the blonde said. And with those words the plan was put into action

A few hours later

Armin stood in the dark alleyway, seemingly alone. That's when it appeared. A man, only a bit taller than the blonde, appeared into sight. Suddenly, he took out his knife, ready to either wound or kill his latest victim. "Now!" Eren screamed before falling off a small building's roof with Mikasa, net in hand, and capturing Armin's attacker. "Now... tell us why you're attacking so many innocent people or I will not hesitate to fight you!" Mikasa threatened as she glared at the man before her. "Fine... the reason is... because my family's favourite tea factory stops producing tea for a whole year every 27 years because kids went on a frenzy because of the tea. It's been going on for generations, and it ed down from father to son in the family" the male raven itted. "wHAT!" the three kids yelled simultaneously, obviously not being able to believe the reason so many innocents died or got lost was because of tea. So they decided the best course of action was to take the man to the police. From there on out there were no more random attacks every 27 years... or maybe there was.
