Introduction

Hello everyone. I want to thank everyone for their continued with my LGBTQ+ Bookclub and the chat despite the up and downs. With a change of leadership of the amino I've realised that since I'm busy and although I can try post something for bookclub its gonna be extremely difficult due to how busy I am in my own life. That's where you all come in, I would like a team of five Bookclub Librarians who would basically help me run the Bookclub as co leaders. So I am opening up applications until end of May to give people plenty of time to submit as I know that these next few months are probably going to be extremely busy for people. I'm going to explain what the role of a Bookclub Librarian entails, the requirements and what the application entails.

What A Bookclub Librarian Will Entail

As a bookclub librarian it will be expected that you are interested in any form of literature not just lgtbq+ literature.

Although being active everyday isn't required its required that you are willing to be active at least once a week so that we can discuss in a group chat what book club post we want to put out and who is able to put that post out and who can contribute. The monthly Bookclub can be from sharing a review on a book with LGTBQ+ rep, talking about queer coded characters in literature, sharing our most anticipated books, sharing a list of rep for people to check out and much much more. Being apart of the LGBTQ+ Bookclub team will give you a chance to help an important part of media which has valuable representation potential just as much as film and to help spread awareness about any Lgtbq+ Books not being talked about e.g Me reviewing Trans Muted. Also you get to be part of a hard working team.

The Requirements

1: You must check your chats everday if you can and at least once a week so we can communicate about the months book club post plan.

2: You must be able to help contribute to a once a month post from the book club.

3: You must have a love of books and be invested in this club.

4: You must respect everyones different opinions on certain pieces of literature.

5: Please do not recommend any literature from problematic authors who are causing harm to the LGTBQ+ community.

Also please be aware that as long as Leaders and Curators accept this requirements they are allowed to apply as well. Same if your on the welcome committee as I am so it would be unfair to exclude you.

Application Details

In order to apply you must create a short post about what LGBTQ+ representation in literature means to you and how you would like representation to change and improve in the future. You must also include in the post if your amino activity and if you consent to the Bookclub requirements. Its important due to the fact that as much as I have enjoyed doing the posts by myself I would like to share the job as I am quite busy.

Your deadline is the 31st May as I know that some people will be busy with exam season so I have decided to give people enough time as possible.
