Neeri back with another little "how to" blog!

Today's topic is about *drum rollll* reputation and leveling up! Something that actually isn't that important for our community since we don't have some features connected to it but I'll still explain it since some seem to be confused by the system~

What are reputation points?

Reputation points or rep for short show us in the form of levels how active you are in the community. There are multiple ways to gain these as shown in this graph:

This graph basically explains pretty well what you need to do to get reputation and a high level.

Being online and making feature-worthy blogs are just a part of how you can gain reputation and today I'll explain how you can do that quickly and in a good and nice way~

HOWEVER. Please keep in mind that this blog is not meant to be an encouragement for others to try to sur each other in any way. Rep is something that is earned from hard work and engagement, and not something used to show others that you can be above them.

Chatting

Go to "public chats" and some of our chats there. It's a great way to get to know the other people in our community and maybe even make friends with them.

Challenges

Right now we are starting to implement weekly challenges again as you might have seen. You all are welcome to participate in them and if you put a little work into them, you might get featured!

Decorate your profile

Having a pretty profile is something many seem to forget. A nice profile picture, pretty background pictures and a short but informative bio all take a while to put together, but are still somewhat essential~ And you can gain rep through that as well!

Reading and Writing Blogs

There's so many new posts every day! Spend some time reading them or create ones yourself. You can also gain reputation from liking posts and writing comments (and when you get likes and comments yourself!) so I really recommend doing this. :3

Liking and Commenting

Now, why is this a separate section, I just mentioned it right above, right? Well, there's some exceptions to the whole "engagement" system.

> Liking, unliking then liking a post again doesn't give you reputation. This is a form of spam, and spam prevention will kick in.

> Liking a lot of posts of the same quickly in a row also doesn't give reputation due to the spam prevention system.

> If your post gets disabled, you will lose the reputation you gained from the likes on the post.*

Just a few things to I suppose. However, besides that it's very easy to get rep through this, especially by commenting on posts.

Purpose of High Levels

There aren't many benefits that come with a high level. The only real feature you get is being able to make public chatrooms at level 8. "Why is there a regulation in the first place?" you might think. Because we believe people to be able to handle their own chats and won't use them in a 'malicious' way.

Besides that there is only one more benefit. Should we have welcomer applications etc. again, you might need to have a minimum level in order to be able to apply.
