So with everyone being at home and everything shut down including libraries, I wanted to recommend three apps that I have personally used to borrow books and more. I haven't seen anyone mention them lately with the lockdown, so I thought I would remind people or let people know about these resources.

· Lɪʙʙʏ ·

The first app is Libby previously known as OverDrive. This is probably the most common and best one. All you have to do is put in your local library with your library card and you can borrow ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines. I have listened to some good books on here especially books by YouTubers who I'm not really into but want to see how they are.

    - I went to my library to reactivate my card for it which people can't do right now.

    - If it's a popular title with one or two copies, you could be waiting for months even though it's digital (it's still a library).

    - It really depends on what your library has

:white_medium_small_square: Have two weeks to read

    - Just like a library, a good/bad thing is the book returns automatically unless asked for an extension. You can only do it about two times. I know this should be obvious, but I'm a slow reader and this affects me.

This is probably my favorite of the three. Hoopla is one that has ebooks, audiobooks, movies, TV shows, music, and comic books. Even though I don't have this on my phone, I have it on my tablet and tv which are better for movies and TV shows. I've listened to Hamilton and watched a not well known Christmas movie. I've also read Steven Universe comics (RIP). It really is great.

     - With no wait times, you have a limit each month (I think it depends on the library because they are the ones getting charged). This is only really annoying with tv shows because each episode counts as one (Albums don't do this so you can listen and the whole thing). So if the season has more episodes than your borrows, you'll have to wait until it refreshes next month.

And final is Freegal. I also have this on my tablet. It is a great one of music and music videos. They do a lot of older music that you can KEEP. That's the biggest thing. They have so much music that you can and it's yours. I still have have relaxation music on my phone even though I no longer have the app on there.

Like I said, these are the ones that I recommend because I've used them personally. When researching these, I found that there were more apps that connect to libraries and seem pretty legitimate. If you know of more apps that do similar things, please recommend them below. Hopefully these will help with staying at home. All you need is a library card!
