Hello everyone Error here and instead of some type of recruitment, application, or attempt to entertain today I'm going to be talking about a more serious topic. It's honeslty been a while since I've done a PSA but for me to be doing this then it has to be important.

Sharing Personal Information

This is the topic of this post if you happened to not catch the title. In this post I'll be talking about why you shouldn't do this and how to handle it if someone tries to make you.

What I mean by sharing personal information

What I mean by this is telling or showing people information about yourself that only people in real life or just not one but you should know. Basically don't say anything that involves you private life like:

~Your real full name

~Your or anyone else's address

~Sending nudes or even pictures of yourself in general

~You really shouldn't tell people your exact age

~Anything else you wouldn't tell a random dangerous person out on the streets

Why you shouldn't do it

Its pretty much common sense to not tell anyone online this information. You could really truly trust the person and still not doing this. The reason being is anyone could easily catfish you online regardless of if they do or don't know you at all. You're private information is only for you and your close relatives to know about. You should also not feel forced to have to tell anyone about your personal information.

Keeping your personal information private will also keep you safe. Telling someone your address is especially dangerous considering someone could just decide to pop in one day and turn out to be dangerous.

What to do if someone tries to force you to

Now what I mean by this is if someone says or does something in order to try to get you to tell them information about yourself that's extremely personal or you just don't wanna say. For example they could:

~Harass you by repeatedly asking

~Threaten to report you for

~Black mail you in any type of way

~Do anything that might make you uncomfortable to where you give in

If someone does any of these things to simply get you to tell them information about yourself or send anything inappropriate IMMEDIATELY REPORT THEM. You should start by gathering proof of them trying to get you to tell them personal information, then you should block them and leave any conversations you may be in with them. After that you should immediately go to a leader or a curator and tell them about this. For them to do that is not okay. If they blackmail or threaten you just ignore them and don't give in, immediately report if or before it even gets to that point.

Conclusion

Remeber this is a safe place for everyone. If you ever feel uncomfortable because someone is threatening you or hounding on you to share private information immediately grab proof, then block and report them. You have a right to keep your personal information private, no one should ever make you feel like you have to give up your information and it's not okay to do it. The Leaders and Curators will always be there for you.
