A Little Note
Let’s get something straight before we float off into the ether: Channeling is simple. Really simple.
It’s not dangerous. It’s not spooky. And it’s definitely not some elite ritual only accessible to gifted psychics in moonlit robes.
Channeling is a skill.
Just like drawing, cooking, or learning an instrument—it can be practiced, developed, and refined. The more you do it, the more natural it feels. The more you trust it, the more it flows.
And truthfully? You’ve probably already done it without even realizing it.
–––––––––––––––––––
So What Is Channeling?
Channeling is when you receive insight, energy, or creative flow from a source beyond your everyday, thinking mind. It’s often soft, subtle, and surprisingly natural.
You might be channeling:
• Your higher self—the calm, intuitive, and more expansive You
• A spirit guide or guardian energy
• Ancestors walking with you
• Universal consciousness or Source
• Deities, demons, gods, angels—whatever resonates with your spiritual lens
• Or even just your inner muse, the part of you that creates without thinking
You don’t need to label it. You don’t even need to know who or what is coming through.
“Channeling is when you step aside just enough for a different kind of wisdom to step through.”
It can happen through:
• Speaking
• Writing
• Painting
• Singing
• Dancing
• Creating in any form
• Or even just saying the exact thing someone needed to hear
–––––––––––––––––––
Everyday Examples (You’ve Totally Done This)
• You’re journaling and suddenly write something that feels too wise to be yours
• You give advice to a friend and they say, “How did you know I needed that?”
• You freestyle a poem, a dance, a doodle—and it just happens
• You ask a question in your mind, and a crystal-clear answer bubbles up out of nowhere
That’s channeling.
No smoke. No mirrors. No haunted doll in the corner.
Just you, becoming a vessel for something beautiful and wise—something that wants to reach you.
–––––––––––––––––––
Channeling Myth-Busting
Channeling often gets a bad rep—and not because of what it is, but because of how people frame it.
Between Hollywood horror movies and overcomplicated spiritual rituals, you may have heard that:
• You need rare abilities or divine permission
• Trickster spirits are waiting to pounce on you
• You can’t channel unless the red moon is aligned just so and you’re holding crystals blessed by a Himalayan goat
None of that is true.
You don’t need permission to listen.
You don’t need fear to be safe.
And you are not “inviting danger” just by opening your awareness.
Yes—setting intentions and boundaries is wise (we’ll talk about that soon).
But at its heart,
Channeling is natural. It’s human. It’s safe. It’s simple. It’s yours to explore.
–––––––––––––––––––
The Most Important Truth
Energies, spirits, and consciousnesses are not evil.
In fact—they want to help you.
There are so many gentle, loving, curious energies in this universe that are deeply invested in your healing, growth, and joy. They want you to succeed. To wake up to yourself. To live in your fullness. To live with clarity and purpose. To provide answers.
Not everything that’s invisible is threatening. Not every unknown is dark.
(We can dive deeper into this in another post.)
But just know:
You are not alone, and you are not being hunted or haunted. You are being invited. And you’re being helped.
–––––––––––––––––––
Different Forms of Channeling
Channeling doesn’t look the same for everyone—and that’s the beauty of it. Some people hear, see, feel, move, or just know.
(Some people call these Clair. There are many types of clair. But we will not be going into that in this post.)
You might already be channeling, but calling it something else—intuition, creativity, inspiration, instinct. All valid. All real.
Here are some of the most common ways people experience channeling:
1. Verbal Channeling
Words flow from your mouth that feel wise, poetic, or oddly not-you (but in a peaceful, expansive way).
You might say something mid-conversation that shifts the energy entirely.
Sometimes your voice may change slightly, your tone softens or deepens, and a part of you steps back to let something else speak.
2. Automatic Writing
You start writing—questions, thoughts, doodles—and without realizing it, full answers, messages, or insights begin to flow.
You look back at what you wrote and think: “Wait… I wrote that?”
This is one of the easiest and safest ways to start channeling, especially if you're unsure what your "source" is yet. Journaling, scripting, poetry—these can all be forms of written channeling.
3. Creative Channeling
Painting. Songwriting. Playing an Instrument. Dancing. Even decorating your space.
When you're in the flow, and something pours through your body like it’s moving you instead of the other way around? That’s channeling.
Your art doesn’t have to make sense—it just has to move something through you and out into the world.
4. Visual, or Sensory s
You might close your eyes and suddenly see vivid images, scenes, colors, or symbolic visions that “drop in” like dreams.
Or you may feel a sensation or emotion out of nowhere that carries a message or meaning.
These are often not literal. Spirit tends to speak in metaphor, symbols, and feeling.
5. Embodied Channeling
This one’s rarer for beginners, but some people experience energy moving through them physically.
You might feel a sudden urge to move, dance, posture your body a certain way, or speak in a rhythm or language you don’t consciously know.
Sometimes people call this "trance channeling"—but don’t let the word scare you. It’s just a deeper surrender to the flow.
6. Telepathic or Thought-Form Channeling
You hear a clear voice in your mind—but it’s not your usual internal monologue.
It might sound like a soft suggestion, a phrase repeated gently, or an insight that arrives fully formed. It doesn’t feel forced. It just… arrives.
Often, this kind of channeling happens when you’re quiet enough to notice it.
7. Tool-Assisted Channeling (Tarot, Oracle, Pendulums, etc.)
Not everyone starts out hearing voices or seeing visions—and that’s okay. Sometimes you need something tangible to focus your energy, something physical that gives your intuition a doorway to walk through.
That’s where tools, like tarot cards, oracle decks, pendulums, runes, charm casting, and spirit boards, come in.
These are not just divination tools—they are channeling tools.
When you use a deck with intention, you're not just "pulling a random card"—you’re tuning into your higher self, your guides, or the collective energy around a situation. The card is just the translation. You are the channel.
Think of it like this:
The tool is the keyboard. You are the wifi. The message is already there—you’re just giving it a way to appear.
For many people, this is how they first learn to listen to themselves. You start out reading the guidebook. Then over time? You start hearing the messages between the lines. You stop just reading cards—and start reading energy.
So if you’re someone who feels more comfortable with something in your hands—you’re not doing it wrong.
You’re channeling through a medium that your mind can trust.
And eventually, as your trust deepens, you may find the messages come through even before you flip the card.
8. Dream Channeling
Messages, conversations, symbols, or instructions that show up in your dreams—often vivid, emotional, or repeating.
You may wake up ing something powerful, or feel like you “visited” somewhere or someone.
Your dream state is often your most open channel, because the mind is finally quiet enough to receive.
Reminder:
These forms of channeling can often overlap. You might experience several of them or mabye you won’t.
BUT...You don’t need to experience all of these. One is enough.
Whatever form your channeling takes—it’s valid, it’s real, and it’s yours.
–––––––––––––––––––
How to Start Channeling (Even If You Think You Can’t)
You don’t need to be psychic.
You don’t need to hear voices.
You don’t need incense, a third eye tattoo, or to sit in lotus pose under a pyramid.
You just need curiosity, quiet, and trust. Channeling isn’t about forcing. It’s about inviting.
Here’s how to begin:
1. Set the Intention
You can say aloud or in your mind:
“I am open to receiving guidance that serves my highest good.”
OR something like:
“I invite (name of the entity you want to talk to) to me and provide guidance.”
This is optional btw and just an example. But the core idea is to approach it with clarity and respect. You don’t need any spoken or verbal affirmations. Just have an intention in your mind. Nothing fancy. Think of it as an invitation, opening a door.
2. Create a Soft Focus
Relax.
You don’t need to be in a trance. Just be open. A lot of people like to meditate. But I want to emphasize again, you don’t need to meditate. You don’t have to be perfectly still or silent. But reducing outside noise helps you clear your mind and hear the quieter voice within.
Here’s a few tips that might help you. You can:
• Sit or lie down comfortably
• Close your eyes or fix your gaze on something neutral (like a candle or a point on the wall)
• Breathe deeply—slow inhales and exhales
• Relax your body so you’re open and receptive, not tense or expecting
This isn’t meditation in the traditional sense—it’s just softening the noise.
3. Ask a Question, Then Listen
You don’t have to start with “big life” questions.
Try gentle ones:
• What do I need to hear today?
• What part of me is asking for attention?
• What’s something I’ve been avoiding?
Ask… and wait. Something might come immediately. Or not.
It might feel like a phrase, a gut feeling, a mental image, or even just an urge to write or speak.
Don’t analyze it. Don’t censor it. Just receive.
4. Let the Message Flow
Choose a medium that feels safe:
• Start writing
• Speak out loud and record yourself
• Draw a card and free-write what it makes you feel
• Let your body move if it wants to
• Even if nothing comes, just describe how you feel
Even if it feels silly at first. Even if it feels like it’s only your imagination, it’s OK. This step is not about being “right.” It’s about letting something in without judgment. Even if you don’t trust yourself, be kind and open.
5. Close With Gratitude
THIS STEP IS OPTIONAL, just like a lot of others I have mentioned. This is more out of formality and grounding you. But it’s always nice to be kind and respectful.
Just like opening a door, you want to close it gently.
When you’re done, say something like:
“Thank you for what came through. I now return fully to myself and this space.”
Ground yourself:
• Eat something
• Touch something physical
• Say your name out loud
• Stretch or walk around
You don’t need salt circles or dramatic rituals—just come back to your body.
Again, this is not necessary, you can skip this and go about your day if you want. You’ll be fine.
6. Write It Down
Once again, optional. But immensely helpful.
Keep a notebook or app where you log what came through—even if it made no sense. You’ll start to notice patterns, themes, or phrases that come up again. That’s how trust builds.
And sometimes, something that made no sense today will hit you like a lightning bolt three days later.
You might think this tip is just cliche and everyone keeps mentioning it. Yes, it is only optional and not a necessary step. BUT it is one of the most powerful tools that will help you in your journey, whether it is divination, channeling, shifting, meditating, or just simply improving your life in general. Trust me.
–––––––––––––––––––
Gentle Tips for Beginners
• Don’t pressure yourself to be “profound.” Sometimes the message is very simple, and not what you expected.
• Don’t worry if it feels like imagination—imagination is a doorway. And just because it’s imagination, doesn’t mean it’s not real.
• Don’t expect a name, voice, or label right away. Just connect.
• Don’t compare your channeling to anyone else’s.
And once again:
“Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?”
Your channel is unique. Your connection will feel like you. So don’t try to copy feelings or anything you saw someone else do. Customize it however you want.

Is Protection Necessary? (And How to Do It)
Here’s where my advice might sound different from what you’ve heard:
No, you don’t need to do protection rituals.
You only need a clear intention; nobody is out to get you. You are not in danger just because you opened your awareness.
That said—some people like tools that help them feel calm. You might:
• Visualize a bubble of light
• Call on a guide
• Hold a crystal
• Say a simple prayer
Do it if it brings **peace**, not if it’s coming from fear.
If you’re doing it “just in case,” you’re not protecting—you’re preparing for danger that isn’t there.
Protection should feel like peace. Not panic.
Like setting the mood for a conversation—not locking every door and window in your house.

Yes, I know this post was way too long. But if you have stuck around till here, thank you for reading.
And of course, feel free to ask questions. Any and suggestions are appreciated. Let me know if there are any errors in the post (I am not very good with Amino formatting). Don’t hesitate to disagree and give your opinion either.
~Cheers!

Me and my online best friend act the same and text the same thing at the same time, could this be something related to channeling?? Cause I’ve always wondered why is it we always say the same exact thing at the same exact time :sob:
Like attracts like. A lot of times similar energies tend to find each other and vibe on the same frequency. You're both in sync.
THE WAY I'VE BEEN CHANNELING WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING. 🕴🏽 HELPPP- I DON'T CONSIDER IT TO BE, but AYEEEE- i'm just THAT dude :bangbang:
Yup. Most people don't even realize it. Even I didn't know for a long time. 🙂 :arrow_up_down:
I've been told numerous times to do things that involve channeling or just honestly do it. This psot was very informative and helpful, I'll definitely be revisiting this a lot! Thank you so much! 🫂🫶🏻
You're very welcome. Maybe give it a go then. A small session? And see how it goes. Keep me updated on your experience if you try 🤭 :purple_heart:

Uhm so....I cannot pay attention to stuff (low attention span 🥲) so I affirmed I connected with my DR self and just randomly started to daydream like always :sob: and I forgot about it...I must it, I did have some daydreams that seemed more...fluid? Like they were genuinely from my DR for a minute or 2...so that could be something

That's definitely a great start!!
I would say use something that feels natural to you. Like if you think you don't have the attention span to sit still, then don't. Instead do something else. Like maybe try doing some art? Writing? Something creative, whatever you like.
And daydreaming is totally OK too. It could be visual channeling. :eyes:
