2. Card's Functions
In a good deck there isn't a junk card, literally. Every single card has its own ⚙function in the strategy and the combos to win the duel (the copy of that card count in this strategy, you can read the blog where we talked about it at finish it).
The ⚙main functions more useful in a deck are (always are exceptions in every category):
:sunglasses: 1- Ace monster
:muscle: 🏾2- Boss monster
:runner: ♂3- Starters
:mans_shoe: 4- Main
:mag_right: 5- Searcher cards/engine
:black_joker: 6- Drawing cards/engine
🛡7- Defender cards
🧲8- Disruption cards
:bomb: 9- Bombers
🗡10- Boosters
:recycle: 11- Recovery
:loudspeaker: 12- Extenders
:trophy: 13- Win Condition
🤫A sort of cards get more than 1 function in a deck, so you need to have discretion about that list and know that these functions' list are in general, every deck hasn't the whole list. Got it? got it!
Figure out we have a 🤖 Cyber Dragon Deck like this:

Now we can detail its cards with its own function in the strategy. First we talk develop each function with this sample deck.
:sunglasses: 1- Ace monster
It's the favorite card of this deck. The main combo and strategy are around it. In this case, our ace monster is the original 🤖Cyber Dragon.

:muscle: 🏾2- Boss monster
It's the most confident and powerful monster that almost ever comes and destroy all for us. Doesn't the ace monster (usually) but it could be best monster we have and our last chance to win (like "Slifer the Sky Dragon" for Yugi but his Ace Monster is the "Dark Magician"). In our case we are talk about: :muscle: 🏾"Cyber End Dragon".

:runner: ♂3- Starters
It's the card(s) we usually wanna have in first hand to start the combo early (in Turn 1 is excellent to have it). To the fusion list maybe is "Aleister the Invoker" and be careful, some decks have some many starters in there (like the "Gaia Deck" or "Phantom Knights"). For us is the :runner: ♂"Core" (cyber dragon).

:mans_shoe: 4- Main
The main is the card(s) that make possible the combo after the starter monster. And without it we maybe will need to stop the rest of the turn. But we can substitute :arrows_counterclockwise: the Main with a secondary . We have ♾Cyberload Fusion, but it could be change with polymerization. Of course, the second one isn't so convenient as the first one, but we can use it for a while (like you can see in the entire first image with the deck. We have the limitation of copies).
:warning: Note: The starter monster usually work directly with the Main .

:mag_right: 5- Searcher cards/engine
It's the cards with the simple function to get some monster(s) or spell/trap cards from the deck to your hand/field. It's one of the best kind of engine to the strategy. To us the searcher card is the same :runner: ♂"Cyber Dragon Core". The starters usually are :mag_right: searchers too. In this case isn't the exception. But we have another card with the power of a searcher: :wrench: "Cyber Repair Plant". It needs some requirements (some resources in graveyard first) but it is a searcher too.

And the 2nd effect of :fire: "Cybernetic Overflow" becomes into a :mag_right: searcher engine too... Slower than the first one but functional in some cases.

:black_joker: 6- Drawing cards/engine
It's the cards with the function of speed the deck with the drawing power. "Toy Vendor" is one of the drawing cards in the fluffal deck. We can have some many drawing engine
In our deck. But in this case we haven't a drawing engine in this deck. Cuz with the searchers enough surely we won't need it, we will have the completed combo in 1-2 turns.⏲
🛡7- Defender cards
The defenders cards now are less used than before, because the combos in the current Yugioh Duel Links try to finish it with a full combo and to do that, they need almost the entire deck. But some🛡 defenders cards are "Kiteroid" and "Sphere Kuriboh". To our deck, the defenders cards are: :blue_book: "Book of Moon" and the same :fire: "Cybernetics Overflow". Be careful with this, too. Enter defenders cards only if it doesn't ruin your combo.🤔 Try to understand your faults and weakness and cover it with your defenders cards selection.

🧲8- Disruption cards
It's the cards to bother the opponent :smiling_imp: and ruin his plays :broken_heart: , stop his effects :no_entry_sign: and reducing his resources :chart_with_downwards_trend: ( :persevere: in Master Duel is mandatory do that.. :expressionless: Yeii....) in DL is not the rule to have those kind of cards. The same :fire: "Overflow" and :blue_book: "book of moon" tries to try to mess with the opponent's field.
:scream: :scream: (Oh you got it!!? I know you did... We can see a weakness in this cyber dragon deck. :cold_sweat: The cards that plays its effects from the hand, the graveyard or the banned zone couldn't be negate or disrupted by it)
🧐Now you are understanding how with these few card's function you can make a big Deck's Analysis. 🤩Now go ahead and continue to learn more and get the next level.
:bomb: 9- Bombers
It's the cards with the mission to destroy cards in the field. Again we mention the :fire: Overflow. But we can add other cyber card: :cyclone: "Chimeratech Rampage Dragon" (fusion). He can destroy two or more spell/trap cards on the field (including yours).

🗡10- Boosters
It's the cards with the effects to rise your 🏋🏻♂Atk/Def of some many monsters. In this case the only card cans do something like that in this deck is the :revolving_hearts: "Cyber Dragon Nova" (Xyz).

:recycle: 11- Recovery
This one is the card(s) with the function to recycle our resources. "Monster Reborn" is the best staple to understand how it works. In the D/D Deck they have "D/D Savant Newton" to recover theirs contracts. In this case we have the plant, the same cyber nova and our faster recovery card: :recycle: "Cyber Dragon Nachster". We could mention the ♾"Cyberload fusion" too, cuz send our card's residues to our reserve (the deck), it's not a high advantage, but is a kind of recovery.

:loudspeaker: 12- Extenders
The before last function of a card is the extenders. It's the kind of cards with the peculiar effect that takes advantage from our combo and :recycle: recycling our card's residues and construct another combo with this or simply become the cost of our cards in benefits for us. For sample, "Red-eyes fusion" summons a "Red-eyes Slash Dragon" but this one with its effect cans take some of its fusion material and use it like a benefit. Figure it out with the "Infernoble Knight Oliver".
Btw, has our deck a extender??? Yes, it has! :loudspeaker: "Cyber Dragon Vier" and :recycle: Nashster make like :loudspeaker: auto-extender too. :loudspeaker: Vier can be special summon when other 🤖Cyber Dragon is summoned. You could use :recycle: Nashster to send the original Cyber Dragon to the graveyard, chain :loudspeaker: Vier to be special Summon and :recycle: Nashster call the Cyber Dragon to the field. Now you have 3 🤖"Cyber Dragons" on the field... Polymerization and boom! :muscle: 🏾"Cyber End Dragon" into the house! That's the power of an extender :loudspeaker: connect with others effects and make your combo bigger. You could summon the :two_men_holding_hands: "Cyber Twin Dragon" or the :cyclone: "Chimeratech" but you rise your power with your :muscle: 🏾boss monster. And at last you have your Normal Summon of your turn :joy: 🤣 Oh boy!

:trophy: 13- Win Condition
The last card's function you could have is the win condition. We talk about it, but in resume, this function is different in each case.🧐 We can say that our win condition is the card that you know you need to win, maybe your :muscle: 🏾boss monster or your :sunglasses: ace monster also it could be a 🤡weak normal monster. In our case, if we need destroy some spell/trap card to finally attack and win the duel, our win condition surely is our :cyclone: Rampage Dragon or our :fire: Overflow trap card. If the opponent's has a "Obnoxious Celtic Guard" in defense position and we can over him. Our win condition would be our :muscle: 🏾End Dragon to :boom: inflict piercing damage. And if we have to sur an "Obelisk The Tormentor", we will need our :revolving_hearts: Dragon Nova as win condition.
So, the win condition is our card solution to gain the current duel. Did you make a destiny draw?
:warning: To conclude this, we overview the main functions of a in a deck. The road is long but we are walking anyways.🧐 Now you can analyse your deck and strategy looking for your :deciduous_tree: main and :seedling: key resources (as we talked about in the part 1) and understand the real value of each card in your strategy.

You can do the next exercise: look up the meta deck more near to your deck and try to overview how it's constructed.
