Howling 3 (1987) Review

Is an Australian comedy horror movie directed by Philippe Mora.

Plot:

A female werewolf runs away from her family, meets with a young man, and a sociologist wants to study these creatures.

This is the most disted and muddy movie that I watched. There's too many plotlines that happened in this movie, like the werewolf running away from her family and meeting someone, three werewolf looking for her, and professor want to study them. The run away part happened pretty quickly, and she is brought back 30 minutes into the movie. Now, the plot with her meeting a young director is the standard romance story that you have seen before and isn't that interesting. The plotline with the professor feels disted on the pacing of it. The movie also added in things later on, which makes the movie get confusing on what is going on and how some of the characters' motives change. I also don't know who to root for since it seems like the werewolf clan are the villains, but later on, they don't seem to be the villains at all. It gets even worse that there's no climax to be found in this movie and how it like it changes the genre near the end of the movie. Until in the end, it re that it's a horror movie.

The movie adds so many characters that most of them are one-dimensional and barely appear in the movie. I don't even know who is the main character of the movie, and it switches throughout. The acting itself is fine, but nothing too interesting to talk about.

I have to say that the effects are even worse compared to the previous movie. The werewolf makeup looks like crap on how it's either too stupid looking or looks like costumes when you first see it. Also, they don't use the werewolves that much in the movie because of the budget of the movie, and they don't attack that much. I forgot to mention that they can transform when they see flashing lights for some reason. There's also a werewolf baby that looks more like an alien than a werewolf and how it grows up very quickly and looks more human.

Howling 3 is a complete mess on the writing of the movie and is disted. This is a movie that is more fun with a couple of friends and rips this movie apart.
