It is a British horror movie directed by Alex Orwell and is produced by After Dark Originals.

Plot:
A group of reality show contestants must survive the night in a haunted jail.

The best word to describe this movie is what? I like the idea of the movie with contestants trying to survive the night in an abandoned prison. It's something that I didn't see with them getting kidnapped to get taken to the place and them have to compete with to survive the night. I found the tasks to be interesting with how it connected on what they fear the most and the challenge they do for it. The atmosphere is decent with it taking place in an abandoned prison that has disturbing lore to it and is shot pretty decent. Unfortunately, the movie gets repetitive with the contestants doing their tasks while the film crew notice a strange man they notice on camera. This man doesn't do that much other than standing around and killing a couple of people. The worst part of the movie is the ending itself because it came out of nowhere and even gets unbelievable after that stupid twist.

I found none of the characters to be that interesting or memorable. Each one of them are one-dimensional and lack any development for them. They even one note characters who don't give a reason why we should feel for them and are really bland throughout. The acting itself is pretty weak and isn't that impressive.

As for the abandoned prison the characters are in, it's mostly fine. The prison does have different types of rooms in it and is designed for each one of them. It looks decent on how they build it. But there is not that much to talk about with it.

The Task is a movie that has a good idea in it, but the execution of it is poor and ruined by the ending of the movie.
