Casting Celebs as Book Leads || the chase

hey guys, welcome back to yet another blog from my side and as the title suggests, I'm gonna be continuing with those book lead casting series because it is so much fun and interesting. For this part, I'm choosing the book called the chase and it's gonna be super fun. Anyways, let's get started!

The Chase is the first book in the Briar U series, and it follows Summer Di Laurentis—a fashion-loving, bold, sassy girl with a heart of gold—and Colin Fitzgerald aka Fitzy, a moody, tatted-up, introverted hockey player with a love for video games and coding. Their dynamic is pure fire and tension, filled with awkward misunderstandings, chemistry, and eventual emotional connection. It’s enemies to friends to “why am I obsessed with you” to lovers—basically, all the good stuff.

For Summer, I’d choose Lee Sung Kyung. She has the perfect bubbly energy, vibrant expressions, and she can totally rock a character who’s all sparkles on the outside but deeply emotional and misunderstood underneath. Summer isn’t just a pretty face—she’s layered, and Lee Sung Kyung could capture her insecurities and fire so beautifully. She’s bold, flirty, expressive—and that’s totally Summer.

Now, for Colin Fitzgerald, aka Fitzy, I would go with Song Kang. He’s got that quiet, introverted charm down perfectly. He can give brooding stares, socially awkward silence, and then suddenly hit you with a vulnerable moment that makes your heart stop. Fitzy is not your typical cocky lead—he’s quiet, kind of grumpy, but secretly soft, and Song Kang would bring all of that out effortlessly.
