Hello Leader Amino. I decided to make a post about dedication to a community and what it really means to be a member of the staff.

Whenever see curator applications open on large communities, they usually all rush to fill out an application in hopes of being hired to the position of a staff on a large community.

They might believe it makes them better or cooler to be a curator. However, in all reality, being a staff member is a lot of work. It’s tiring and you have to love your community, your , and your community topic to pull through.

You shouldn’t a community to apply for staff. You shouldn’t apply for staff unless you have ion for the topic. And you definitely can’t run a successful community if you keep boring of the work you’re doing and running off to start another community or apply for staff elsewhere.

Moreover, some people see member counts as a sort of price tag on a community, a way to gauge its value. As a leader of a roleplay community, let me tell you. It’s not. Having worked on roleplay aminos has showed me that larger roleplay communities are usually flocked with illiterate role players with unbalanced ocs. Smaller but active communities is where I thrive simply because the people there have decent ocs and make great roleplay partners.

Because of this, I’m perfectly happy leading only two communities. One with only 60+ with a roleplay based topic. And another with 300+ about anime and graphic design. This is because I feel like the people I’ve met there are my family and the times I spend there make me happy.

Not because it makes me cool.

Not because I can have a fancy green title.

Because I want to contribute to the behind the scenes plot development in the roleplay.

Because I love helping new editors shine and interacting with my friends and giving them a haven for their editing and anime ions

Many staff question why their community isn’t growing. Why can’t I have more ?

does that really matter?

Amino is ultimately a base for sharing your ions on communities of people that have the same ion. YOUR COMMUNITY SHOULD BE YOUR ION. That is where you will find success. If you love your community and your ion, at the end of the road, you will be happy and content. You will run a community where many who share your interests can feel the same you do.

Some communities reach this peak faster. Some communities remain small, but slowly grow after curious and stay. Leaders need to understand that staff rights are given to those who love both their ion and the community, not to those who are just hungry for power.

ion is a powerful thing. ion in its purest form can drive people to do great things. As leaders, we should show that our ion will lead us to our success. We need to understand that slow and steady can also win the race, and in the end, a community is where you can interact with people who love the things you do. Not a contest for who can have more . Not a contest for who can have better stats. A community is our and our ion.

So treat it that way.

thank you.

Honestly I feel like many people (in my experiences) just want to be curator just to be there and they end up not helping at all. This is a great post explaining what it really means.
